New Orleans Drinking

I’m visiting New Orleans in a couple of weeks, mostly to drink. Any recommendations for bars and hangover food?

Drink lots of Tequila, lots of rum and eat a ton of crawfish. You'll be fiiiiiiinnnnneeee.

Find a bar with a band that plays the type of music you like. Food wise everywhere was good, but I could eat Acme oysters every day of the week.

Crescent City Brewhouse. Sit on the balcony and watch folks on Decatur Street. Use it as a place to start your evening before you go exploring further. It's 2-3 blocks from Cafe Du Monde, so you could easily do lunch/late snack of beignets and chicory coffee and then walk over to CCB to start drinking.

My wife will be busy at a conference at the downtown(?) Sheraton for a few days, so I got lots time to explore and do my own thing. I think the best way to enjoy San Francisco is by drinking eating, and my assumption is New Orleans is probably the best city to get to know by drinking and eating.

Olde Nawlins Cookery is an underrated eating spot. If the wife has time, you guys should do one of the quick riverboat tours.

Latitude 29 and Tiki Tolteca are a skip and a jump from each other. A cheap Mexican joint is between them...making for an easy night.

So if you and your wife want a cool vibe, I've been a few times and ate at Bacchanal. It's a few minutes in a cab outside of the city, but totally fun. You order wine and cheese in a counter-type store, and then sit down outside and they bring it to you. Totally an awesome deal, live music, place gets packed. They also have other food.

I also ate brunch at Restaurant Revolution (which was great) and as usual the Bourbon House and 21st Amendment do not disappoint.
