It's been a while since I've registered a domain and I know the marketplace is a lot more competitive than it used to be.

Anybody care to recommend a registrar or two, giving consideration to price & reliability.

I get my webspace through ICDSoft and have them reg it for me. It's only an extra $10 a year.

I guess I have used network solutions for years.. they were bought by Verisign, and I use them for all my domains for work.. Never had problems with them in all the time I have been with them.

Thanks for the feedback. I've also used Network Solutions over the years but the price difference between them & godaddy is pretty noticeable. And since this particular domain reg. is something that's sort of a whim instead of serious business, I have to admit tempted to go with price over tradition. I figure a lark is a lark, so reducing the investment has some appeal.

Anyhow, thanks for giving me another option or two to consider.

I also use godaddy. I have registered at least 15 domain names with them.

Out of curiosity here (and since I don't think intentionally sidetracking your own thread is unbearable) ... how many of the domains you own are actually hosted & active?

It has nothing to do with the original question or what I'm doing rightn own, I'm just wondering how many people own multiple domains but aren't paying to host them vs how many are actually biting off on numerous hosting fees per month. And I guess I'm really asking about those you own/host personally (as opposed to domains for work/business purposes, etc)

godaddy as well

I use zoneedit.com for free domain forwarding and DNS management.

Thanks det_fan, it was your 15 that made me curious enough to ask :)

I host about 5 or 6, I have hosted for me another 3 and the other 140 domain names are all just reserved not being hosted anywhere right now.

One question I have though.. Jon I think you should create a domain name dynasty. You can update us day by day of your progress :) Ok maybe not.... :)
