‘Jeopardy!’ Tells Contestant: A ‘Gangster’ Is Not a ‘Gangsta’ - The New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/03/arts/television/gangsta-paradise-jeopardy.html)

There are so many gems in this story, it's hard to decide what is my favorite tidbit.

Seriously, which is the best part???

Is it the revelation that "gangsta" and "gangster" have separate definitions in the Oxford English Dictionary?

Is it Coolio imploring white people that "the E-R will always get you in trouble?"

Is it Trebek explaining to Nick that the judges took the points away?

I like all of the above, but I'm leaning toward trying to envision Nick actually pronouncing 'gangsta' properly?

In October 2017, Austin Rogers got an $800 question wrong because he pronounced “sherbet” as “sherbert.”

“I’m from New York. That’s how we say it,” Mr. Rogers responded. It's not pronounced Sherbert?

This is incredible. Maybe my favorite thing since the tweet about KFC's Twitter Follows.

It's not pronounced Sherbert?

I know how it's spelled, but I've never heard it pronounced without the second 'r'.

I know how it's spelled, but I've never heard it pronounced without the second 'r'.This. Fwiw I also don't think I've seen it since like middle school.

I saw this episode because my parents watch it and I'm still in Wisky. I immediately said "That's going to get called back. He said Gangster, not Gangsta". Sure enough, it was a delayed ruling, but it came through.

I missed this but I did see him the next day. He ended up losing to a lady that played with very annoying pace for television.

Right call. They are persnickety on actual titles, and that is the word in the title.

Coolio's comment is pure gold. :D
