Happened to see this football game entering early access mode tomorrow...never heard of it before and seems a bit ambitious. But if it really does what it says, might be worth checking out. No idea on cost at the moment and looking at the screenshots seem a little rough, but who knows.

ABOUT THIS GAME

Pure Football 2018 is a fully featured American Football Simulator that draws inspiration from the classic football games of the 2000's.

Get back to Pure Football
Get away from the animation based modern football games where linebackers have 10 foot verticals and corners have eyes in the back of their head and get back to real football. Pure Football boasts the most realistic football experience you will find today.

Get back to a Franchise mode with personality
In Pure Football, General Managers and Coaches have personalities and tendencies. Different coaches run different schemes which need different players. General Managers trying to fill those needs have different philosophies on how to do so. Are they aggressive in free agency? Do they reach in the draft? Are they willing to trade away their future for a chance to win the championship now? Watch as your league evolves as Coaches and General Managers get hired and fired around the league.

Get Back to Football Roots
Pure Football 2018 is set in the age of leather helmets and classic uniforms. Dive into the 1930's styled office with music from another time. Enjoy the classic feel with modern game play.

Customize your way of playing
Play your seasons with the including teams or use the custom roster editor to make your own leagues, teams, players, and coaches. Check out the forums to share yours or try someone else's.

If you want features that aren't included in the list, please post on the forums!

Custom Draft Classes
UI Updates
Field/Surroundings Overhaul
Improving the Passing System
Improving how Player Stats effect all aspects of gameplay

Hopeful Features

What is with the modern football with 1930s style uniforms and leather helmets?

Odd.

I imagine the name will change once Ubisoft's legal team get notice of it.

Edit: Can't believe Ubisoft would lie to me on their webpage. According to the USPTO, the wordmark is dead. Useless snark foiled.

Odd.

Hard to fathom that someone would say that is really what's missing in the current market...

All I had to see were the screens with the rosters and stats to see it's not something I would ever play. Reminds me of one of those horse racing games.

Here's a play video - about 20 minutes. Pure Football 2018 - Not Quite a Touchdown, Yet. - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxAcllMlpqE)

Pretty rough.

Nothing bad about those horse racing games, particularly Hooves of Thunder which I think was one of the best text/graphics sims out there.

Probably need to clarify. I know the meat and potatoes of many of those games were good, but they always seemed to have god awful interfaces. Mind you, not as bad as what I'm seeing in this game but they did have many design decisions that made me scratch my head. The other caveat is that this game is from 2018 and the games I was referring to would be from the earlier part of the 2000s.
