Anika Sorenstam and her two male playing companions are going to be referred to as a threesome many times over the next few days. Anika. And two guys. In a threesome. Whatever you feel about her participation in this tournament, she did not deserve that.

There is a pretty sizable portion of the American population to whom the word "threesome" does not immediately conjure up images from pornography. (Though perhaps not in the demographic of this forum)
The word is still in pretty common usage for most circumstances involving a group of three people doing anything together. I'm not sure there's anything to really complain about here.

And that has stopped this forum from complaining about things when?

That must be the portion of the population I haven't met yet.

mmmmm....threesome.
I was just on the phone with a close friend (who happens to be a priest). I asked him what his first thought was when I said the word "threesome"....still looking for that portion of the population you mentioned Quik.
Edit: BTW, he wants me to come to the confessional now...:D

Agreed, QS, to a point. The PGA tour (and the LPGA) often sends golfers out in groups of three, they are referred to as threesomes, and most of America (maybe even most of this forum) thinks nothing of it. I would bet that when its two guys and a girl, percentages go up dramatically.
And who was complaining? I found the concept mildly amusing, and knew that any thread concentrated on the word threesome would amuse this forum.

This thread would have seen a lot more action if you put the word 'threesome' in the thread title.

She did not deserve that? She is playing in a golf tournament and grouped with 2 other players. This type of grouping is always called a threesome in golf. What is there to deserve or not deserve?

I think Annika will get over it. She might even get over twice....

If I was one of those two guys, I'd refuse to play with the other guy. Replace him with another girl - that's the only way I'd play.

If one of the rookies has new Titleists, and Anika sees the sleeve, does she think twice about saying, on USA national feed, "Nice balls."

Well, I think some people will start feeling differently about the use of the phrase if they start having sex on the course.
But otherwise it should be fine.

What did you shoot?
Oh, damn, that was not the best way to ask that.
How did you score? Not much better.
How many strokes did you take? No that won't work.
Maybe golf is just a more sexual sport than we have previously bee led to believe?
