My wife is spending the night in the hospital tonight with a bladder infection. She is in miserable agony, and being 7 months pregnagnt doesn't help (most of the medication she can't take). I am not doing too well with all this. Intellectually I know that I am overreacting, but this is my first child, and I am allowed to overreact.
So for all you who regulary pray, think of Heather and Daniel and me today. Thanks.

I know how you feel, my wife went through two bladder infections while pregnant with Sean. Everything turned out okay with her and the baby and I pray that it will with your family.

My wife is 5 months along herself - I know how harrowing the experience can be, and I can't imagine the stress of having her hospitalized. I'll be praying...

Hang in there stkelly, things will work out.
My wife had to spend a weekend in the hospital during her seventh month of pregnancy. I was in Phoenix to attend a friend's wedding and some other friends and myself decided to visit the Grand Canyon. We had just left the Canyon when I got a call on my cell phone from my wife. Her first words were, "I'm in the hospital, I'm going into labor."
That turned out to be possibly the worst night of my life. It was getting late and we were over 2 hours from Phoenix. By the time we returned, there were no other flights to Houston that night, so I had to catch the first flight back in the morning. I was terrified the entire night, slept very little, and caught the first flight to Houston the next day. Luckily, my wife had a friend staying with her that weekend, so she wasn't alone in the hospital (I wouldn't have gone out of town if she was by herself).
Sorry for the long post, but the upshot is that my wife turned out to be fine (she was put on bedrest for a few days), she did not go into labor, and our son was born two months later. He was healthy and perfect in every way. My point is as what I started my post with - Hang in there, things will work out.
Your family is in my prayers.

Our prayers are with you.
My wife went to the doctor today and they scheduled the date of her C-section. It will be June 25th. That is the day after my moms birthday. It is pretty cool to know the birthdate before it happens (that is unless something unexpected happens).

Prayers up, pal.
BTW, I don't know if you'll find this encouraging, discouraging, or just amusing. When my wife was 8 months pregnant with our first, she was struggling with pain and frequent...well, the symptoms of a bladder infection.
About 3am we went to the hospital because she was hurtin' so bad. We had a baby before 6.
Ever since, we've affectionately called our oldest (when she's not around) "our little bladder infection." :D

Don't panic, just be there. My best advice. During my wife's first pregnancy the medical folks patronized her like hell. They'd always ask if it was her first pregnancy, then when she said yes, regardless of whatever the complication, they treated her like a baby. There are so many things about a pregnancy they don't tell you about, that they have no right to be that way, but they are. I'm sure she is going through total hell and is probably scared out of her mind to boot. Be there for her. Reassure her, and take no sh!t from the medical folks who try to act like she's over reacting.

I am hoping that everything turns out well.
Not to continue Leonidas's threadjack, but I also hope that you have considerate medical professionals.

Good news. HOpe it all gets better from here.
stkelly, I won't be praying (since I'm not a believer) but I am in the same situation : 7 months pregnant wife no feeling too well and unable to medicate like she should.

Good luck to both of you, plus the little one.
Doctors and medical technology are truly amazing these days; she'll be in good care.
