New OOTP5 league forming

I left the last league i was in -RWBL - to start an antire new league. THe same premise exists as before....low frequency of trades, trade-happy GM's need not apply. i will be the Commish in what will be a very competitive, very realistic league. the greater the challenge the more the championship means at the end of the season. i got some great ideas and encourage the ideas of all who join.

you can read more about the newly forming league in the thread entitled "a new beginning" in the online league forum in ootp5. there i have already begun to list the teams that are taken - 8 teams are on baord so far, so there are enough teams to choose from.

this league has the potential to be something great. we will conduct the league as closely to the MLB as possible (always keeping a mind to make the league fun), but we're really only limited by our creativity. come aboard.

I'm interested in joining. It appears that the SBL had died, so I would certainly be interested in joining another league. Let me see if I can find your thread on the OOTP board...

it will depend on what kind of functions I'd need to be present for. I've got 2 jobs this summer, and I don't know if I'd be available enough to participate.

I'm looking for something to get me interested in OOTP, and single player mode doesn't cut it.

two things. i'm not sure if this league would be a good fit for you or not. i'm a strong proponent of being involved in a league. the least you would be needed for is during the first season - when the league would be proposing new rules and such for tweaks to procedures. once we get everything up and running normally i suppose you could take a breather. i will be a hound when it comes to absent owners.

like i said, if you can't be active enough to poke your head into the message board to see if we're voting on anything then you probably shouldn't join. i do not require guys to post everyday like they would here, that is unnecessary and would only get in the way of my high frequency of posting and i wouldn't want to have to read so many of other people's posts to find mine ;). j/k

the other thing is i'm partial to guys from FOFC. i would like nothing more than to fill as many teams with FOFC owners as possible. you're on the more well-known specturm of who's who, so i would like having you in the league.

head on over to the thread, JonInMddleGA, I answered it. i must say i never expected you of all people to have interest in a league headed by me, but it's nice to see you value things that are done right regardless of who's in charge. we got some good guys involved in this league.

SkyDog/Blackadar - you joined that other previous league that i had founded - RWBL- and left for many of the smae reasons i did the first time. i would like both of you to check out that thread and seriously consider joining the league. sure i've been a prick, but it's important to me to stock the league with quality owners, and owners i would take personal satisfaction in beating. i urge you to check it out.

Thanks for the answers HA and if it makes you feel any better I was probably more surprised by my interest than you were :)

I figure it this way -- if I'm ever going to do an online league I want it to be run consistently. I want somebody who I don't think is going to cheat nor put up with any b.s. from people who fail to follow whatever rules there are. And I'll be doggoned, IMO you meet those criteria.

As it happens I started a league with the TotalMinors rosters (4/29 version) just a week or so ago, largely out of curiosity about who was in them & what they looked like. If SWMBO doesn't disrupt the process too much I'll try to look over what's left & pick a team sometime tonight.

JeebrD: i offer my apologies. the league is filled. yes i granted you a team - but unlike JonInMddleGA i don't recall you actually coming down to the ootp5 thread to claim a team. there seems to be a problem with the Expos owner, some other guys from OOTP have said he's a known cheater, i may have to revoke his team. you would be most welcome to them if it comes to that.

JasonT - i would love to have you in the league but as stated above it's been filled. i can oly hope you're still interested when a team opens up. i could have used you a couple days ago when i was looking for a Brewers owner. i'll keep the post warm for you - Brewers owners have a tendency to not stick around for long. you'd be a great addidtion to my league.

I posted about halfway down the first page of the thread on the OOTP board. Don't worry about it though. If I wind up with the Expos thats cool. If not, no biggie...

Hey Jeeber- If you end up getting the Expos and you would be more interested in Colorado then I would switch you. Colorado is pretty well stacked in the minors and they have a good major league team.
