Then you may be interested in reading my new diary I am posting over at EWBIII...

It is titled Tobacco Road Wrestling - TRW and is based on a scenario of me creating my own backyard federation with dreams of taking them to the top over time.

HERE IS A LINK TO IT! (http://ewb3.ithium.net/ewbII/index.php?act=ST&f=25&t=14227&)

I would love to hear what you guys think of it either on this board or at EWBIII...

Also if you would like for me to post it here in the Dynasty Board I will do so!

I assume no one is interested in my Diary??? Oh well... That is cool... Diaries are really the only way I get into the game (EWR)... I have gotten little feedback from people at EWB and was hoping you guys could give me some feedback...

If you haven't checked out EWR in awhile (or ever) version 3.0 is great... And 4.0 will be release sometime in the forseeable future and looks to be a big step up with the following aditions

From Adam Ryland the games creator:
At the moment, i cannot give full details on EWR 4.0 due to legal reasons. What i can say is that EWR 4.0 is currently scheduled to be released sometime in 2003, and is the biggest update to the EW series since the switch from Extreme Warfare Deluxe to Extreme Warfare Revenge. Although the game is based on the EWR 3.0 code (i.e. it has not been rewritten from scratch) there will be several new features that will change the game in radical ways. Below is just a small taster of the features that will be included. This list will be expanded on at a later date.

You need to have an account to read the diary, by the way. I tried to log in and it wouldn't let me.

Yeah, I would read it for sure, but you need to register to see the forums, and I am lazy. :(

I have posted an up to date version in the FOF Dynasty Forum... There are currently 3 shows up and I hope to write the next one in the next day or so... It is always tougher to write during the week because of school and stuff...

HERE IS THE LINK TO THE THREAD IN THE DYNASTY FORUM (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=143546#post143546)

Now that's just cruel. You copy a statement that mentions a list of new features but not the list. :D

The entire contract system is being redone. Each worker will be able to work for up to three promotions at once. So, for example, AJ Styles will be able to work for Ring of Honor, NWA:TNA, and Combat Zone Wrestling. Also, workers will be able to work on a pay-per-appearance basis, rather than the monthly way that was used in previous games.
The event system is being redone from scratch. Not only will you be able to hold your large events whenever you want (not just on the last Sunday like previous EWR games) but there will also be the option to run a weekly PPV model, so NWA:TNA can be simulated correctly.
Every worker and staff member will be able to have a photo. This will be an optional feature, so if you do not want to download 3-4 meg of extra graphics, you don't have to. Using this feature will not slow the game down at all.
There will be several new matches and angles, including War Games.
At this stage, everything that will be in 4.0 has been planned out and scheduled. For that reason, please do not mail me with suggestions, as if they are not already in the plan, they will not be added now.

Sorry... I didn't even realize I hadn't copied that part of the info into the thread...

That up there was useless info if I ever saw it... LOL

I just downloaded the game and fiddled around with it. It's very deep. Now I have to make time to play this and my Dolphins dynasty on FOF4. My wife is going to love that.

I think replay-value is this sims only downfall. It becomes very repetitve after a month or so......

Cool read, and thanks for the idea. As mentioned above, I found some of the replay value got lost over time on EWR. But keeping a journal of sorts really helps, feels more like your actually accomplishing something. Maybe if he puts the ability to save more historical events of your Fed. in the game that would improve some of it. I also wish he would make it so the autobooker would make actual matches and you could watch the results, but that would probably take a lot of extra programming. All in all its a hell of a little simulation, and I can't complain at all considering that its free!

Thanks LionKing, I'm hoping v4 will rekindle my interest. The review looks promising.

For anyone who likes wrestling sims, definitely, definitely, definitely, check out TNM7.

After years of sitting around idle, they're making a rather sizable update to it (albeit there's no new 'killer' features), which should improve past its current status.

I'd recommend at least trying the demo when 2nd Edition comes out.

Wow, I thought TNM was long dead. I didn't expect anymore updates, man I used to fiddle around with this game quite a bit. Quite a bit of fun, thanks for the link.

The EWR review does sound promising, I enjoyed the game for a bit. It just got so tedious to me though, very repetitive.

Funny thing is, I completely despise pro wrestling...I loved it as a kid, can't stand it now. I still love reliving the glory days. ;)

Actually, I'd checked TNM7 every couple of months up until a couple of years ago, but then this thread got me to thinking, I'll check again.

And lo and behold, they're right about to release an update.

You could probably e-mail Oliver, tell him your full name, etc., and he could tell you the address registered with, and then have you answer a confirmation e-mail.

He always seemed friendly and helpful - definitely worth a shot.

I was a pretty avid TNM'er for several years but the lack of the long-desired "TNM Gold" pretty much finished it for me.

What is/was TNM Gold?

I'm actually looking forward to the new EWR.

I have paid for games much, much worse than it. :)

TNM Gold, if memory serves, was going to be an add-on for TNM 7 that would have let you played the game with a more defined circuit mode. Basically, it would do what EWR now does. Oliver scrapped it though. He may have started work on it again (have not checked the site)

Sabotai got it pretty close re: TNM Gold --

I want to be clear that I don't consider it "vaporware", as there wasn't to my recollection any sort of undelivered claim. It was more like an idea that was never written into code.

Whether it was an add-on or an essentially new version was never settled AFAIK either. But what it would have added to TNM was more of a "career mode", where finances, venues, etc were a part of the experience, as well as a more realistic contract system, etc.

The picture packs for EW 4.0 are released on their board. I guess they've been there for a few days. They're saying a week or two until the game is released....
