I didn't see this mentioned anywhere, but I may have missed it. In any event, I found this app (Football Coach II) as a good time kill on airplanes and the such.

College football career simulation, you pick a school to coach forever, or go to the coach route and progress from team to team. Nice stat keeping. It's deep enough (for me) to be immersive, but not so deep that it's intimidating on your phone. I feel like it's what I was hoping for out of TCY way back when (don't hate, but I played one season of that and never picked it up again!)

I seem to remember reading it's customizable by importing a file for setup, but I haven't gone that route to verify.

Why I even tried it in the first place: free to download, can play offline, no in-app purchases, no ads. (Not sure how they make money...) There's even a reddit community for it.

They have a college basketball app also, but it hasn't hooked me in yet. Maybe because of the season, I don't know.

This sounds like something I might be interested in, but I cannot find an app in the Apple store by this name. Wrong platform? Or something else?

I found “College Football Coach” from Akshay Easwaran … right thing?

I don't know about it feeding the pro app, I honestly didn't even know there was one.

Search for "Coach Apps," that's how I found it. Or it's actually called Football Coach 2 (not II) on the app store if that makes a difference. Copyright is Achi Jones, FWIW.

This game was released on Windows and it's really addicting. It's simplistic but fun thus far. I've sunk 18 hours into in the last few days which just doesn't happen anymore for me.

I bought the game, but the mobile UI is just killing me. Cognitive dissonance? Like this UI should not be on a laptop yet there it is?

Also, wish I could turn off the player pictures. Too goofy.

I sense there is a great game here. I just need to sit down and set aside the time to put it through its paces.

I purchased FC: College Dynasty yesterday. There is a ton to like, but like you mentioned the mobile interface is sort of ruining it for me. It kind of reminds me of that lighter/classic mode that Football Manager offered/offers, which was cool but awkward to play on desktop. Personally, I never had a problem with Solecismic's spreadsheet vibes in TCY.

I have to give it up to the developer of this game. He keeps coming out with consistent updates that are adding real functionality to this game. Soon enough I'll be ready to fire it up for the fall football season.

Jonesing for a college football game and loaded up College Dynasty again. The customization is pretty sweet, although scheduling isn't on the level that TCY was yet (it's on the roadmap). I'm thinking of creating a more 80s/90s-ish conference setup and a smaller slate of bowl games not named after chips and tax prep companies.

8 conferences by 10 teams?? Boner. Probably makes more sense to axe the WAC as it's the black sheep **guess I can't do that as you need to have 6, 8, or 10 conferences currently

I read recently that it sounds like they are working on finally having the ability to include logos and such within the college football dynasty game which I have always been looking forward to. Hope to jump back into this game at some point.

This update just got released. Really excited to put some time into this game soon. This is one of the few games that has caught my attention and kept it for any period of time over the last decade. It joins Civ V, They Are Billions and maybe an OOTP game in there.

I’m underwhelmed a bit. First career, just doing seemingly obvious stuff, and I have moved a lower tier Toledo into a big conference and into the 4-team playoff in eight seasons. Recruiting seems super simplistic, and I’m not even gameplanning or controlling the games.

I may restart w everything on the hardest settings, I suppose. I usually enjoy the struggle of slowly building a program out of ashes, this is child’s play thus far.

It definitely needs to be tightened up in some areas.

I took the lowest rated team in a mod (Kennesaw State), made the playoffs by my 3rd or 4th season, have been perpetually in or in the hunt ever since (through 11 or 12 seasons when I stopped for a while). Only reason I'm not in the SEC is that I've declined the realignment options

Far more feeling of "human over AI advantage" here than I ever got from FOF/TCY.

To me, the most impressive part is that this game is getting constant updates and seeing large jumps in playability and complexity. The dream is getting this thing to a point where online play is possible. The discord channel is pretty active too with a section for suggestions that the developer is actually looking at and implementing ideas from the community.

That's why I said the dream. The first versions of OOTP didn't have Multiplayer. The game needs supported so it can grow.

Haven't looked into this game yet, but have to agree that the pictures are stupid as hell. Why have them if that's what it's going to produce for a college football game?

So I’ve been playing a game linked in this thread, but I’m pretty sure it’s not the game you all are playing. Mine is just called CFC, no silly player pics.

Anyway, trying to launch a small BGSU program. Got to a nice 9-3 season, felt like it was clicking. Then had a DC vacancy. Each offer to a new coach used up around 15-20% of my program points that I need for recruiting. Each offer has a certain % chance to succeed.

Six offers later, no DC, no points to recruit anyone, awesome. Another offseason more of the same, all three coaching vacancies and only two legit recruits.

Just bad luck but wtf kind of game design is this?

The developer posted some info and FAQ on the college game's Discord channel about the upcoming pro version.

Here are the details.
**PRO FOOTBALL GAME FAQ**
Last updated: 8/4/25

**Q: When is the game coming out?**
A: The early access is planned for late 2026. I plan to be in early access for at least a year after that, but it's too early to determine the full v1.0 release date.

**Q: Will the game be available on Mac?**
A: Yes, the plan is to support Mac from the beginning for the Pro game.

**Q: Are you bringing over feature XYZ from FC:CD?**
A: I won't be able to say for sure whether certain features are coming from the college game. Obviously the Pro roster management system is completely different, but some ideas, especially around the UI, will be familiar. However, I'll be re-evaluating nearly everything from FC:CD -- it won't just be "'the same game but for pro football".

**Q: Will you start a new Discord for the Pro game?**
A: No, I plan to use this same Discord server for the entire 'franchise' of Football Coach games. I'll add separate sections for the Pro game when it is closer to release. I want to keep the community together!

**Q: How can I keep up with development?**
A: I'll be publishing updates on <#1402034504683749448> , but haven't quite decided my cadence. If you want to be notified when I post, use the <#1212568966602694697> reaction.
