A nice twist on Wordle - guess the country based on distance away from last guess

Not sure how much longevity it will have, but I’ll give it a few goes

I got caught up in the balkans and couldn't recover with a guess. it looks way too much like Kosovo

I've been studying geography for a while for trivia; got today's in 1. The distance clues might be interesting though. I have not as great a grasp on scale.

I've been studying geography for a while for trivia; got today's in 1. The distance clues might be interesting though. I have not as great a grasp on scale. That sounds familiar. Yesterday's (#16) one was a direct hit for me, which wasn't fun at all for the first try with a new game. Today's (#17) was more challenging (for me, took me 5 guesses) and I have to admit that although I usually know where countries are located relative to one another, the ability to guess distances is not yet part of my geographical knowledge. And I expect it's harder to get used to given that distances are very different for countries closer to the North Pole compared to those located on the equator.

Fairly challenging without a sense of the size of the countries.

I sat down with my 9yo son to play yesterday's, explanied the game, and also got it in 1 guess which made him shrug with a "WTF Dad this wasn't fun at all" vibe... maybe tonight will be better

You have the options to rotate / remove the country image if too easy. I’ve gone with rotated, and it thoroughly confused me today!

Another fail.

Like yesterday I was next door, but this is proving what I suspected - my knowledge of exact locations of countries isn’t great

Nope. Definitely not very good at this

Got it in two today.

Started with Comoros, though I didn't think the island configuration was quite right. The directional clue helped greatly from there to get to Cape Verde.

Islands though...islands are hard. Though Eritrea was tricky too; seeing some countries out of context is definitely a challenge.

TBH my last guess could have been any one of half a dozen countries. I’ve worked out I know roughly where countries are, but not where they are in relation to each other

I'm so trash at this and it isn't funny. And I got an A in world geography somewhat recently. this last one, I guessed every country around it except for the actual country.

It's those islands that are a bitch.I don't mind island nations, but when they're going to put every single island on the planet earth in their game, I won't be able to play unless I use a map or globe to help me out. Which to me feels cheating in this particular game.
