Not sure what I'm doing wrong but my drafts just always suck. I can have the best scouts and pick guys with strong combines and their future overall will always fall. Seems I'm missing something in FOF8. I've tried drafting based on statics, combines, constraints, most important combines by position. Nothing seems to work. Can anyone share any insight as to anything they've done that has been successful?

I've put together some decent draft classes in multiplayer (and some not so decent ones) so take my advice with a grain of salt. There are people here that know a lot more than me. Also if you search for older posts on the forum you will probably find some good discussions on drafting.

Step 1. Get draft analyzer (I am going to assume you already have DA but should be mentioned just in case)

Step 2. Have really good scouts. It sounds like you may already know this, but that means the scouting bar on your OC and DC, the interview bar is very helpful too but not the priority imo.

Step 3. Skim through the draft class. Skim a couple times. Sort by bars, have a look through; sort by combines, skim through; sort by bars and then sort by position and go through each position. Get acquainted with the class. Make note of the players that look good, especially the players that look like they might fall to later rounds of the draft.

Step 3a. Check the LBs for a good DE conversion (high RunD, PRT, PRS), check the CBs for a good Safety (high RunD, ZoneD, INT), maybe even check the RBs for good a WR conversion, etc. You can often find a couple players that show up as a mid 40 to 50 overall in the DA but are actually 60s to 70s if moved to a position that matches their bars.

Step 4. In multiplayer this step is useful. Make a plan, fill your draft board, try to guess who the other teams will take. I find its useful to go down the list and draft by myself, asking myself who would I take with each pick.

I draft mostly according to bars, and move players down the board that have red flags like bad combines, dead static bars, and being overweight/underweight/undersized. I also like to keep an eye on the development trait, low development can be a good sign for better overall bars in context of their scouting grade.

Hopefully that helps!
