The results are IN! Only one day later than promised! Not bad! I was hoping to get a nice spread of answers, with no real showstoppers. I was pretty satisfied with the results.
We had a total of sixteen entrants.
1. The Celtics (17), Lakers (17), Warriors (6), Bulls (6), and Spurs (5) are the best collection of franchises in the NBA according to championships. Name another franchise that has won at least two NBA championships.
Detroit Pistons 6
Miami Heat 5
Golden State Warriors 2
Milwaukee Bucks 2
Houston Rockets 1
Reading is so, so fundamental. I had the Warriors listed smack-dab in the middle there, amongst the five greatest franchises by championships. Yet two people both decided it would be good to answer Warriors. Otherwise, all good and correct answers. The Bucks are the most recent entrants into this group, having won their second title last year. I expected more love for the Rockets. No love for the Knicks or Sixers.
2. With the conceit that Michael Jordan and LeBron James, in some order, are considered the two best players of all time who is the 3rd best NBA player ever?
Wilt Chamberlain 5
Kobe Bryant 3
Magic Johnson 3
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 3
Larry Bird 1
Bill Russell 1
I got what I wanted here, a nice mix of answers. Stupid likes his stat stuffer, though - even though the correct answer is Kareem.
3. Name an NFL team that has *NEVER* won a Super Bowl.
Cleveland Browns 7
Detroit Lions 5
Cincinnati Bengals 2
Minnesota Vikings 1
Buffalo Bills 1
The Lions were named in 5 of the first 6 entries before the Browns took the back half of the entries. Thats why you play the game! Teams without any recognition: Cardinals, Titans, Chargers, Falcons, Panthers, Texans, Jaguars.
4. Name a Quarterback not named Tom Brady or Joe Montana with multiple championships.
Peyton Manning 8
Terry Bradshaw 3
Troy Aikman 1
John Elway 1
Eli Manning 1
Ben Roethlisberger 1
Steve Young 1
I should have excluded Peyton, but then this probably gets dominated by Bradshaw.
5. Name a current golfer on the PGA tour not named Phil Mickelson or Tiger Woods.
Rory McIlroy 8
Dustin Johnson 2
Scottie Scheffler 2
Justin Thomas 2
Bryson DeChambeau 1
Jordan Spieth 1
I didnt expect Rory to run away with Stupid as he did here. At the very least, I figured it would be more of a Rory/Jordan split. But with all the new names and faces dominating todays game, I expected more love spread around.
6. Give me a reasonable price for a gallon of gas (US currency).
$2.00 6
$3.00 4
$2.50 2
$2.75 1
$4.00 1
$4.50 1
$5.00 1
Stupid knows that round numbers rule this game. Stupid is also living in fantasy land.
