Straight from OS, who does one heck of a job with interviews:
HERE (http://www.operationsports.com/reviewvault/features.asp?game=madden2004int)
One particular item caught my eye and made me smile:
Operation Sports: Will there be accelerated clock for the console versions?
Jeremy Strauser: Yes, this is in.
Thank you EA, I'm sure it wasn't my email that did it, but this is one thing I have patiently waited for. No more 8-9 min games and wondering which gives better stats.

I read somewhere on the NCAA sportplanet boards, that owner mode will feature retiring players maybe becoming head coaches. I can't remember if they got it from a reliable source or not though.

dola, it's in the interview, so that should be awesome to see an older (hopefully) looking reitiree coaching.

double dola,
Operation Sports: Will the Bears new stadium the "New Soldier Field" be in the game?
Jeremy Strauser: No, sorry, the owners of that stadium haven’t been willing to include the stadium like the other stadium owners. We have a generic stadium for Chicago.
:( :( :( :(

Sounds pretty good, I know that Madden2K3 was a pretty solid game. Had some nice adjustments that you could tweak for more realism. Finally an EA Sports game that "tries" for the realism aspect overall.

The PC version last year had a coach only mode, hopefully they will incorporate that into this years console game.
I know that you can make a "coach only" mode on the console by playing "pro" and not moving the joystick or anything like that, but a true coach only mode would be nice.

In general, alot of console games "generate" good stats. Its when you start playing that things get out of skew. More games need to have "coach only" modes and the world would be perfect. Graphics and sim in one. I don't think it would be incredibly hard to do either, but I could be wrong.

August can't come soon enough!
I finally reached the 100 win mark in Madden Online. Of course, I have 103 losses too... But soon I should have a winning record. :)

Ah, Online. Again it will not be in the XBOX version. Although I have a PS2, I pretty much refuse to get games for that system anymore.

I was pondering getting an X-box the other day, but then I realized that the only game on it that I truly wanted that I couldn't get on PS2 was Halo. Sooner or later, I'll end up getting an X-box. Probably later though.

This would only be a great feature if the coaches have attributes. Just having a retired player like Jerry Rice coach a team, but no difference to say a Mike Martz would kill the feature for me. I want different coaching styles!!

I guess I don't understand this. Are there new owners for the stadium? I just don't understand this. Why all the sudden would they not allow a frigging stadium to be in a game? Just seems really weird to me, even moreso if it's still under the same ownership, which I'm relatively certain it is. Who owns the stadium? I'm assuming Chicago itself?
Any Chicago folks have any idea about this?

Seems like a really dumb question, but is the new stadium done yet? Maybe the shots aren't done yet.
