Most of that sort if information is scattered around on these forums, sadly. The game documentation is very "on the following page, click this to see that" and doesn't really offer a walk-through.

My main item would be: many people find the user interface frustrating at first, and are sometimes perplexed at what to do. If you think this style of game is really what you want to play, fight through this feeling. This game is really good under the hood, even if it's not beautiful or well documented.

Just play through a few seasons, skip past stuff that doesn't make much sense (like gameplanning maybe) and focus on stuff that seems interesting. Run a couple of drafts, sign some interesting free agents, and start to build the team the way you want it.

Bring your questions to this forum, do some searching here, and multiple people can help, or point you toward stuff already posted.

Welcome! If you're looking to start off with single player and just learn the ropes then I'd recommend watching some of this guy's playthrough (in addition to following Quik's advice). This guy has a 40 episode single player career that showcases the game flow pretty well and gets you familiar with the screens you'll want to be frequenting often.

Keep in mind that this isn't the kind of game that lends itself to "invincible" players. Long-time players are still learning. Gameplanning may be the most challenging aspect of the game, and if you don't want to dive into that right away you can let the game do it for you until you're comfortable enough to do it yourself.
