(I know it says "Tuesday evening," but in my experience, oftentimes "evening" to Jim is like 1:00am Eastern. ;))
Looks like a very nice list. From the "updates" page of the online manual...
Front Office Football Nine was released on October 31, 2023

Issues under investigation:

Frequent crash when trying to complete a trade for an opponent's player (confirmed)

Crash experienced at end of play-calling in game, instead of Exit button appearing (unable to recreate, requesting more information)

Crash reported when trying to access Podcast. No details, however, and unable to recreate.

Players eligible for Injured Reserve (out or doubtful) cannot be placed there through player card (confirmed)

AI needs to be less aggressive about putting players on IR, though this still won't be perfect (confirmed)

First day of free agency now reserved for offers to your own players, “can't find player” message given in error (confirmed)

Restricted free agents on your team can now receive offers during early free agency (confirmed)

Text should be added for clarity when can't make offer because of cap room, and it's only because you need to leave space for the upcoming draft (confirmed)

Sort on Pancake blocks on individual and career statistics screen is returning random results (confirmed)

Illegal Touch on the Punt penalty is miscategorized and can result in the offense keeping the ball after the penalty (confirmed)

Typo on staff hiring screen when trainers are eligible for hire (confirmed)

Filter for individual statistics, qualifiers only, uses wrong criteria to determine minimum (confirmed)

Logic for AI retaining head coaches is not keeping them often enough (confirmed)

Number of new staff per season is a little too high (confirmed)

Should not show age of retired coaches in coach list (confirmed)

Pop-up and click-to-card for coaches in staff screen and staff retention screen should be limited to name field alone, to make it easier to select a coach for hiring or retention (confirmed)

When using coaches file, a coach is created with no name and demographic data, and co-assigned to Arizona as head coach (confirmed)

When using coaches file, play styles for coaches are reset when they should be loaded from the file (confirmed)

Still some question that certain screens and functions don't have a current idea of the defensive and offensive play styles of the coordinators - added some code to check this, but it should run when the coordinator is hired (confirmed)

With a full allocation draft, a player's signed-to-team date is incorrect (this would explain a reversal in cohesion early in a universe) (confirmed)

There have been a couple of reports about low retention by AI teams - teams go through release cycles to work with the cap - they are likely too aggressive at times (deferred to near future)

The recommend button on the ticket price screen is invisible (confirmed)

Controlled team's ticket prices are 0 for first season if setting to handle GM duties is off (confirmed)

Ensure that any player who can be traded appears on the trade screen (confirmed working - can't sign-and-trade the same year in this game)

Preview screen is reversing visiting/home statistics (confirmed)

Function for returning college level text searches on the wrong information (confirmed)

Filter for end of experience range on player recommendation screen cuts off last season (confirmed)

Player recommend screen future evaluation can be misleading (confirmed)

Issue with scheduling algorithm with 32-team, 16-,17-, and 18-game leagues can lead to occasionally playing a conference opponent twice in a season (confirmed)

Pre-season play-calling substitutions may not work once second-stringers are called for (solution might be disabling substitution screen in pre-season - the game tries to play everyone and rest starters - deferred to near future)

Year-end team jersey sales and merchandise totals are overflowing an integer buffer, producing random results (either far too high or too low) (confirmed)

Improved the scope and logic for allowing GMs to highlight players during the amateur draft, added this to saved games (confirmed)

Mouse-over hint for assessment of rookie attributes during amateur draft refers to league scout rather than your team's staff (confirmed)

In Gamebooks, YAC per completion for quarterbacks in advanced passing stats calculated incorrectly (confirmed)

Adding Special Teams rating for most players to player card and pop-ups related to the draft (confirmed)

Incorrect message if GM rescinds offer that player has agreed to consider in free agency (confirmed)

Adding Current and Future Ratings to Contract View of Roster screen (confirmed)

When weekly schedule screen requires scrolling, logos do not scroll along with results (confirmed)

On player's medical/transactions card, traded note refers to a dollar amount, not the team that traded away the player (confirmed)

Many past transactions refer to and link to an incorrect player (may be deferred as this is a db issue)

Error message was suppressed when minor roster decisions are not handled by AI and GM does not have enough have players active at an individual position (confirmed)

Text on player position change pop-up screen related to weight at new position is incorrectly categorized, though the screen works properly (confirmed)

Achievement for drafting a punter or kicker in the first two rounds is granted in any round (confirmed)

Achievement for calling plays is granted if you are letting the coach call the plays in the simulation at the end of the game (confirmed)
We are anxious to get the first update out and anticipate doing so Tuesday evening (11/7). If you're experiencing a crash not listed above and have a event report or minidump, please send it to customer support. For all reports, please be as detailed as possible.

That is a massive amount of work to check off in a first update. There must be a strong pot of coffee on the kettle.

Nice! Honestly, if those things are patched, we got ourselves a game!

Oh yeah, military grade coffee! Been in the pot for days and just reheated over and over! Had me a few of those in my day.

Playing devil’s advocate, but I don’t necessarily think all those items will be fixed in patch 1. It would be amazing if they are, but I believe that’s just the complete list of confirmed issues.

I know some items used to have wording that it would be resolved down the road instead of immediately.. but that phraseology isn’t there now so who knows ?

That's a fair point. I guess it's possible that he won't fix everything above in patch 1. I'd imagine the crash is the #1 priority. That said, there ARE two "deferred to near future" items on the list, so I suppose it's also possible. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anything marked confirmed is ready for the final sanity test. Anything marked deferred is something that's working as designed, but could use some work down the road (it won't get ignored). There will be more items in that category as I examine (mostly Ben's) suggestions still in the queue.

I'll gather the information to help figure out the report about cohesion, I'm sensing that it's a side effect of a bug in how the game fills the "on Team" field when you use a 53-round allocation draft.

It's quite specific in how you set up the league initially. I'll e-mail the additional information as well.

Thanks Jim! Loving the new game and looking forward to the update.

Is it possible to get contract end date on the basic info screen so I can see the ratings and expiration date all at once?

If all the confirmed items make it in the patch, looks like I will be starting my universe over:)

Coincidentally, I just finished that one (contract view, not basic view). That one was even annoying me.

I know PITA, but would it be possible to bold the new entries to make it easier to do a quick scan?

I know PITA, but would it be possible to bold the new entries to make it easier to do a quick scan? You can do that at Jim's page. It tracks changes.

EDIT: And it’s a better place to do it because the user can choose how far back to compare, rather than here where it would always simply be “since the last time Ben updated.”

What or where is "Jim's Page"?

I’m a late bloomer when it comes to FOF. I never had the games while they were still being updated. So I have a question, will the patch apply to already saved games? Or do I have to start a new save?

1. If I understand correctly, the game was almost rebuilt from the ground up, so the ability to continue with patches may or may not still be around. (Based on the way things are worded, I do suspect that you’ll be able to continue, but thought I should add that caveat.)

2. There are sometimes some fixes that can’t be applied to existing careers. (One that won’t apply to existing careers is specifically listed in the newly-updated list, but I’m guessing literally not a single person will care about that one. I did a 100+ season quick-sim for testing something else entirely, and ended up stumbling across some issues with transactions, one of which apparently can’t be fixed in existing careers, but it’s highly unlikely anyone is attached to a career long enough to hit that issue.)

I played a save 75 years in FOF 8, but lost it when my PC messed up and I lost a bunch of stuff. What was the issue with long-term saves?
