Thats a shame, I was hoping to see him move to a good team and have a shot at actually winning a superbowl.

God, I wouldn't give ANYBODY in an injury filled sport a nine year deal.

No way he sees it out. The bears made it that long to spread out the salary cap bonus hit, once they have wrung all the use out of him they can get, *yoink* they'll take the sal cap hit in a rebuilding year.

Oh it's prolly backloaded as hell, but he'll be a Bear for a good long time anyway.

9 years is a tad much, though.

How many of these deals are ever actually as long as they are suppose to be on paper? About the biggest reason they make it as long as they tend to is to spread the bonus out.

Actually, this one might stand a chance in hell of going the distance. According to a couple more detailed articles, the cap number on the contract actually goes down every year.
