I’m thinking of buying the game but I was curious what the draft process was like. Can you compile a draft board, or do you just have to keep track of players you like separately? How about the day of the draft, is there any kind of meta analysis, like a draft “show” or is it just super straightforward?

AFAIK theres no in-game tool in FOF9 for making your own draft board, but you can highlight guys on the main board. For FOF8 third party apps were developed where you could export the draft data file but otherwise you have to track them on your own. There is a new "mock drafts" feature which mocks up who each team is expected to draft, which can help with planning your draft strategy, but otherwise draft day itself is straightforward each AI team makes their pick quickly until you're on the clock. You can pause the draft at any time.
