Looking for someone in the know, a Ben or Jim. The game coems with a base universe for 2023. The info file indicates that it may be possible to create additional universes that will use "a" created default player file. Is this true?

Example. I create the required files for a 2002 start in the default folder and if/when I initiate the league and select to use a player file will my 2002 start show in the drop down? Or are we limited to only the provided file with the 2023 start?

I ask because I have and there is no drop down indicated.

When you create a league from your own files, you'll navigate to the xxxx_info file. It will then load the corresponding player, coach and quarterback file with the same xxxx_ prefix. So you won't see the years in the drop down.

Understood. What I want to know is can we create additional season files to add to the base 2023 file that comes wit h the game. I did, deposited it in the deafult folder but the game does not see it as it isn't shown on the inital dropdown so I am leaning to we can't but to not be able to doesn't make sense.

Looking for someone in the know, a Ben...{snip}This isn't an area that I'll ever explore, as it doesn't interest me at all. Only fictional players here. Sorry.

Actually Ben I was using fictional players. I just wanted to see if the game would recognize the addition and allow us to choose that starting point. To be honest the primary reason I am trying is that using this base universe creation method, not the custom path, allows for the build of stadium configurations that are applied unlike with the custom where they are random. Yes if it does this could be used for a historical application but I am not interested in trying to create those types of files. I'm to old and wouldn't live long enough to do it and enjoy them.

A simple example. I formatted a UFL summer league based on the USFL/XFL merger using the teams but fictional players. I built the required files and level set all of the stadiums, capacities and salaries based on its actual CAP. By doing this in the "custom" folder the stadium configurations are ignored and realign with the city populations and randomize their type. Kills the overall intent of the league design. Yet with the 2023 file in the default folder the stadium configurations are applied.
