Explosion at Nigara Falls Border

An car seems to have exploded at the Canadian border crossing. It was the Rainbow Bridge crossing, and according to police scanners there was also a treat at the Peace Bridge crossing. FBI is investigating.

That's the new reality.



Reports say the car came from the US side. Take from that what you will. It could be terrorist attack, or could be a mobile meth lab heading for a delivery.


Edit: The car was on the US side from Canada. It is fun when reports contradict each other.

The two occupants of a car that exploded Wednesday at the US-Canada Rainbow Bridge border crossing are dead, a law enforcement source told CNN.

The incident occurred shortly before noon when a car coming from the Canadian side of the border on the bridge that connects Canada to New York State went through the initial checkpoint where they examine passports and licenses and then was directed to another area for a secondary search, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

As the car was heading towards the secondary search area, an explosion occurred, the sources said. Authorities do not know what caused the explosion.

John Miller has totally different information than anyone else. He is claiming videos show the car coming from the US at 80+ miles per hour and flew through the check point, went air borne, and then exploded when it hit a barrier. That would be a totally different thing than the Fox Report.

It feels like Fox News was wish-casting. Everybody knows how much the Fox opinion side will just make stuff up, but the Fox News division generally doesn't whole-cloth fabricate things. Someone bought a narrative they liked and ran with it.

doubt it, if they're going as fast as need to be to go over a 8 foot fence, they'd have time to press the break. And I can see either having an explosive or just impact, because that is one huge fire after impact.

Investigators believe a New York man and his wife were the two people killed in a car that crashed and exploded at a US-Canada border crossing near Niagara Falls on Wednesday, law enforcement sources say, and the FBI sees no link to terrorism.

Alarms were raised from New York to Washington, DC, late Wednesday morning after the incident on the US side of the Rainbow Bridge crossing. Investigators believe the couple was traveling in a Bentley at high speed when it struck a curb at the checkpoint, then hit a guardrail that sent the vehicle airborne and into a screening area before it exploded, according to the sources.

Despite initial concerns of a terror attack, the FBI has not found any connection to terrorism and no explosives were found at the scene, the agency’s Buffalo field office announced Wednesday night. The case is being turned over to local police as a traffic investigation.
