I have no clue which personnel the opposition is using. Calling defensive plays seems totally random. How do you play out games?

I base the defensive calling on down and distance and what's been the biggest problem trend for my defense in the game I'm playing.

I wish there was a way to see my depth chart on both offense and defense while playing out a game. You can't print it out so I guess the only thing to do would be to copy it down by hand to a piece of paper. Seems kind of old school for sure.

I'm confused.

While on defense the opponents offensive formation is noted just above the play call screen. Yes you have to know the difference between a 113 and a 212 but once you remember what the basics are it makes understanding their formation easier.

Viewing defensive lineup is available on the lower part of that same screen where your roster is listed, players on the field noted and you can view their capabilities by selecting "examine lineup" on the bottom of the page.

On offense you can see the play by hovering over the plays text description and the players on the field will change as you hover over the "call" test based on your game plan and you can see that on the roster list. The latter does suck because you can scroll the roster list while hovering over the "call" text. What is do do instead though is shows that mix when you select to examine the play on the bottom of the screen.

I kind of understand that not knowing what players your opponent is using but you do see thier formation and at some point will be able to determine what skill player is filling what role on those plays but would assume your choice of defensive formation will be determined by thier offensive formation and your offensive formation will be based on down and distance.

Am I missing something?

I dunno...I'd still like to be able to see the depth chart as a whole when calling a play. The font size on the list of players you can hover over is pretty small too. I guess it's pretty much personal preference.

Here I would have to agree that having a display that required less "mining" could help. Maybe a single larger screen/window that would show the defensive formation against the offensive formation. I have no doubt that screen real estate plays a huge role in the design and layout of the game, well really any game or program. Trust me I'm old, very old, and have a 27" monitor and have considered getting a 55" to help my eyes.

I'm 'very old' myself and also have a 27" monitor. I would LOVE to see a single or larger screen showing defensive formation against offensive! Perhaps that could be worked in as a really useful, needed feature.

Good idea Nawlins!
