Real draft classes

Hey guys.

I'm completely new to the game and am very excited to get stuck into my first save!

I do have a question, is it possible to get real rookies into my game? I.E Caleb Williams etc for the 1st draft?

I'm asking before I get started as I don't want to get weeks into my game and then find out I need to do it on a fresh game save

Yes, and I am sure someone has added the 2024 class to the 2023 starting file.
I only have draft classes from the late 60s to the late 70s so far.

The player file is in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Front Office Football Nine\default_data

It is a csv and must remain a csv.

I haven't tried to just add the players to the 2023 file and start without using custom files... I think I tried that and it didn't work. But you can test.

To get what you want with future drafts copy the 2023 player file, quarterbacks file, and coaches file to the custom folder and also create your info file for 2023.

Start a new game and select custom file set and select the info file.
The game before every draft will scan here for players in your player file that have entry dates for that draft year. You can create years of drafts here in one file.

If you need an example PM me... I think I did mess around with the 2023 idea somewhere along the line and may have the info file made.

I have a concept for converting the work done by Eli2Manningham for Madden 24 for future draft years and porting that into this game but I've learned from my name mod thread to...probably just wait until I actually have something to deliver first. As for that I have to first finish and post my name mod which regrettably I haven't completed. I've put that one on hold until I find some better automation tools to help me dedupe and until I get that out, I don't think I'm going to pivot to drafts just yet.

Once I am done with that, I can get to work on porting these draft classes that said and they shouldn't take very long given that the actual work of putting people into the pool (and knowing who is to be in which draft year) was done through someone else already.

What directory does the file go into? The Steam directory or the Users directory.

Are you using FOF8 or FOF9?

For FOF8, I have my draft files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Front Office Football Eight\historical files -- it's been a while, but I think it doesn't matter where you put them. If you select the option to choose a draft file, an explorer popup will show up, and you find your file and choose it.

If it's FOF9, see Gallifrey's post. In C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Front Office Football Nine\default_data you should be able to find files called 2023_players.csv and 2023_quarterbacks.csv and you can add 2024 players to the bottom. Make their team 0, and the contract info all 0, and make YEARENTRY 2024.

If it's not too much trouble, would you mind uploading the csv file as well? If you do that I can use it to create a draft class file for FOF9 :)
