I for one welcome our new Dire Wolf Overlords!

Scientists genetically engineer wolves with white hair and muscular jaws like the extinct dire wolf | AP News (https://apnews.com/article/dire-wolf-colossal-biosciences-de-extinction-56d6c192c5d968731b448081aa4149fe)

Cool story but sad that they have to keep their location secret and make sure the scientists that commented emphazised they were not part of the project for their own safety.

Also a bit surprised the Sec of the Interior is apparently OK with the project and I'm sure Trump will take credit for it in 5,4,3...

Pretty cool. I took my kids to the Field Museum last week and they got to touch a dire wolf skull.

Cool, but isn't this exactly the plot of Jurassic Park?

No, the dire wolf has not been brought back from extinction | New Scientist (https://www.newscientist.com/article/2475407-no-the-dire-wolf-has-not-been-brought-back-from-extinction/)

Why is this important? Our current Interior Secretary is using this as a reason to do away with the Endangered Species list. Who cares if an animal goes extinct if we can just genetically bring them back to life, right?

I had wondered what the angle was for them to be in favor of something like this.
