My Next EU4 Dynasty!!!

Hello and happiest of days to each of you!!! Am I feeling in the mood for another round of dynasty for my beloved EU4???

Who would I Like to run with?

Here are my early options:

Korea – I’ve never run an East Asia dynasty like China or Japan unless you count the Philippines and Kamchatka. They were updated in a recent DLC I have.

Australia – A bunch of Australian Aboriginal one-province nation like North America are here and then I could unite and fight against the Europeans and colonize too.

New Zealand – Similarly 7 smaller one-province Māori nations are there and I could unify them!

Hawaii – These islands are each a smaller island, I could unite them too.

Fiji – This island chain is in three parts and again I could start, conquer and then colonize!!

Riga – This one-province Baltic Sea Bishopric is surrounded by folks and I can form Courland and Livonia and Prussia. I have never played a Bishopric- it’s in the Hansa League too. It’s updated in a major DLC I have a few years ago.

Mali – This former West Africa powerhouse is on the decline and then gets an event when you start it called “Mali in Decline” with massive rebels, but if you can stop it and redress the issues you can unlock the power of Mali!!!

Gotland – This one-province Baltic Isle wants us to start as a Pirate Republic. This too like Riga and I have never played a Pirate Republic.

Ajuuraan – This Horn of Africa East Africa minor power wants to become an Indian Ocean trader and Conquer and then colonizer and trader. It used to own the Maldives.

Trebizond – In the last update they updated everything near the Turks like this and Theodoro too. This is a former Byzantine Nation and Greek and Orthodox I could try them again for the 1st time since EU2. Black Sea and Turkey.

Any more traditional hard ones like Athens, Thedoro, Pskov, Sukhothai, Mzab that I finished that I haven’t done yet?

Melikates – Arminian and Coptic in the Levant – one province minor , the last Armenian nation. You start as a vassal too.

Auvergne – One province French minor among many vassals to it.

Hisn Kayfa – Kurdish one-province Middle East the last of the Abbasid Caliphate. You start with Ayyubid Ideas.

Manipur – Animist Jungle South Asia with the only one in the region with that faith that drops your tech and such.

SE Asia – Three one province new additions here in SE Asia that start with Stateless Societies like Rhade. Rough because everyone around you is a Tributary of Ming so they’ll defend them in wars so it’s not easy to expand.

Rhodes – Small island right next to the Turks, needs to expand to the Turks, or get eaten by them.

Makuria – Two province Coptic Nation near Mamluks and often gets smashed by them early or when you expand south the big nation of Ethiopia – you can form Nubia.

Navarra - The one-province land locked Iberian nation just next to major powers like England, Castille and Aragon.

Alright let’s knockout a couple!!! I adore all three Africa and then many in the Middle East too and Asia and Oceania. We’ll start with the European Motherland – I am not feeling:

Gotland – No to Pirates.

Rhodes – I have done here in the Eastern Mediterranean dynasties like Naxos and Athens already, not feeling this.

Hawaii – I think that would be fun, but I’d prefer New Zealand as different and I recently Oceania as Micronesia

Fiji Minor – Just like Hawaii, already did Oceania Minor Chain in Micronesia!! Would prefer New Zealand.

I have played Mataram, Philippines Minor and Sukhothai in SE Asia and the Indies. Then I have played Micronesia in Oceania, in the Americas the Central American Minor one province and reformed Maya and then South America one nation minor and then formed Inca. Not bad there. Then in Africa I’ve done North Africa once with Mzab a very hard start then formed Algiers with it and then Congo the day it turned Catholic in history to try that out and then Songhai and one fast 12 year long one in South Africa I lost so just three longer ones there in the entire continent.

Then in Asia I did the Kamchatka minor Kamchadals and then colonized Siberia backwards and then grabbed Alaksa too. Then in India I did one as a one-province Southern India Hindu nation and formed India.

In Eastern Europe I did the rough one-province Russia minor of Pskov Marchant Republic under Muscovy’s Aegis and got out and formed Russia. I also just did hard Crimean One-nation Theodoro it at the tip of the province with no one to go next to Genoa and Crimea. I tried Wallachia like 5 times and failed.

In the Middle East I’ve done Trebizond in Turkey, and a few in CK2 and CK1 like Georgia and then Oman in Arabia too first and turned it into an Indian Ocean trade and colonial power.

In Western Europe I’ve done Irish minor and formed Ireland and then ditto in CK3. I’ve also done Granada in Iberia twice and Aragon once in CK2. I’ve done Oldenberg in the HRE and then in Southern Europe Italtian minor Salerno and formed Italy and then Athens in Greece and then in the Mediterranean I did the Venetian Islands of Naxos and then got my freedom.

Let’s pull out another two!!!

Manipur – I feel like another Animist nation in the area might not be what I’m looking for. Another resilin there might be fun to try, but who are you Royal Marriaging with? Or getting strong alliances, like Mzab as an Ibadi nation there.

Melikates – This is the final Armenian holding, love to rise and form Armenia, but they are a vassal and that takes it off my list.

Thoughts!!! I am feeling Riga, New Zealand, Hisn Kayfa, Makuria, Risa, Mali and Ajuuraan too, and then the 3 SE Asia minors and then Korea and Australia too. Who do you like here?

Two More Pull Out:

Australia Minor – This is another fun little one, but that’s a longer bigger campaign.

Korea – I’ve never done East Asia before, and this would be fun and then is the lesser power, but that’s probably a stronger start than many takes it out.

Here’s why I like what’s left:

Riga – One nation, heavily developed in DLC, surrounded by the Livonian Order, Bishopric, in real life became Courland and then colonized Africa and then Trinidad. Nice for me to get too.

New Zealand - I adore the idea of uniting the Islands and then embracing the Pacific Ocean for Conquest and Colonization!!

Hisn Kayfa – I adore that this final holding of the Abbasid Caliphate and then you can reform it and then it’s got great Ideas too and was updated in the same place as Trebizond recently.

Makuria – This two-province Desert Nubian Coptic would be between two massive powers in the Mamluks and Ethiopia that will gobble you up, can form Nubia and then would be my first Coptic Religion playthrough.

Mali – This was also helped out by a DLC with the Mali Crisis. I adore the idea of trying to reboot this harder nation like the Timurids past their prime and on the way out too.

Ajuuraan – Easier start like Oman not near any baddies that will eat them up. Starts with 10 and a vassal too.

SE Asia - I like that these three are Stateless as their form of government I have never played and then outside of them we cannot attack any one nearby after unifying them without annoying Ming. Nice little challenge, right?

Sorry fans of non—Middle East and Africa stuff, but the next to go is:

SE Asia – I adore this idea, but I would likely wanna colonize into the Indies, and this run I want to steer clear of my typical Colonial Auspices.

New Zealand – Ditto – love this much!!! But, again, focusing on the lack of colonial stuff this rule is needed.

I want to run both of those though.

So we are in the ME or Africa for this next run!!

Alright, so who is my finalist?

Let’s knock them out in order:

#3. Mali - I love this past its prime with all of the rebel stuff to deal with, but it’s gold and strong development and 18 starting provinces means this is pretty good for the winning fun-times.

#2. Makuria – Again I love the idea of a minor two-province in between two majors, and I’ve never done a Coptic run either. But not today.

That means…

#1. Hisn Kayfa – The Winner!! I actually looked it up and it’s the last remnant of the Ayyubid not Abbasid the one online was wrong.

There are no reform options for it.

Let’s kick this thang off in a major blow!!!

We begin with the boosted tax modifier early on and then -10% Shock Damage early too which is great for the local Middle East troops high in it. Then later we can get Fort Defense, boosted to manpower by 15%, +10% Morale, and then the same in Cavalry, and then -15% Core Cost, -10% stability cost and then boosts to goods and discipline too. Love it much!!!

My first goal is to ally with four province Dulkadir to our east past Aq Qoyunlu make nice with the Ottomans and then RM and ally them later, and then DOW Aq Qoyunlu before they can ally with the Ottomans

2 Dec – They ally with the minor Turkish holding of Biapas, but…NOT THE TURKS!!!

12 Dec – We ally with Dulkadir who weirdly didn’t rival-ize our Aq Qoyunlu. Then I’ll send this guy to improve relations with the Turks

7 Jan, 1445 – We finish our first 1k Solider building

16 Jan – We are declared the Rivals of Aq Qoyunlu

06 Mar – We finish building the 2nd army and now we are at our 6k and good manpower too, so we can finish the Mission!!!!

I hire 4k Mercs for 12.5 cash. I order my army to the Aq Qoyunlu captial and target of war

They have 7k to our 10k and Dulkadir’s 5k

10 Apr – We arrive in their Capital they fled and start a siege

3 July – They arrive in our capital to siege but don’t have enough folks

1 Aug – A Biapas unit arrives and joins them and they start it

11 Oct – Bitlas gets a claim on our province

29 Dec – Qara Qoyunlu claims our holding too

7 June, 1456 – We capture their capital and then I head to our capital to break the siege

30 June - We win the battle and then our warscore jumps like 16

5 Aug - We capture the Minor of Mardin

15 Sept – Urfa is ours too

25 Oct – Raffa is ours, I head back to their Capital where they are besieging it

20 Nov – We routed them and then another 16 war score I head north to grab the rest of their holdings

8 Dec - I reject a peace offer

8 Jan, 1457 – We capture Mush

7 Mar Feb – The last two holdings are ours!!!

Incorporating Aq Qoyunlu

Mar 08, 1457 - Next, I’ll be peacefully incorporating Aq Qoyunlu for a few years and wear down that rough 7 thang huge aggressive expansion too although three cores there helps. We are now next to: Dulkadir, Ottomans, Trebizond, Syria and Samtskhe. Actually I might wanna bring in Trebizond next to cut off eastward expansion of the Turks.

I one diplomat to make nice with the Ottomans and then the next to build a spy network with Trebizond larger nation next to me although I already have there cores next to me permanently from that Mission, next I’ll probably grab the three province north of Bitlis, also pretty minor, assuming they have no major allies and then bring them under my Aegis before hitting up Qara Qoyunlu. They have province totals of 22 provinces, Ouchie. I’ll do Trebizond, first

Note that Rakka was changed in named to “Ar Raqqa” probably because we are Kurdish

Then that finishes the next mission “Abase the Turkomen” which gives us a level 2 Military Advisor Army Reformer that costs 75% less to purchase and maintain and then a massive chunk of cores too.

No cash this time we are running out just with the land deal. We leave them two with no claims. We took Trebizond and then Georgia’s vassal off the board and then took tons of great value from the Georgia estates too. Get ready.

Guria – Black Sea, fishing, Mountain, Georgian and Orthodox, 8 dev, claim here, core ordered

Oltu – The Tao renamed is here, with the former Samtskhe holding – Mountains here, 8 dev, also Georgia and Orthodox, Livestock, also a claim here, core ordered

Imereti – This Cloth and Coal province is next! Mountains, inland, Georgian and Orthodox too and a core ordered here too.

Kars -The former Samtskhe capital with a level 2 castle, Georgian and 8 dev and Orthodox and renamed and then wine here is made and then it’s our claim so I order it cored too.

Now the really good stuff as if Cloth and Coal weren’t good enough

Kartli – The former Georgia capital with SILK and 10 dev, level 2 castle, Mountains and Georgian Orthodoxes worship here too – I order it cored.

Tbilisi – DYES here!!! It’s Georgian and Orthodox too, Mountains, I order a core here with 10 dev

Kakheti – Drylands, out of Admin Tech cannot core it, 9 dev with Wine here too, Georgian and Orthodox here too!!

Incorporating the Three Orthodox Nations

Sept 17, 1453 – We finish a Mission. It’s the next one after “Abase Turkmenistan” of “Safeguard Caucasia” which gives us 100 Military Power, -10% Separation in the Caucasia Region and we gain some cores too.

Oct 12 - I spend some MIL to raise the dev of our Home to 10 and then we finish another mission called “The Last Bastion” for 10 years we get -50% Maint and then +50% Attrition there

1 Feb, 1454 – Core Ordered for Kakheti!!!

I order a Mosque in our capital

26 Feb – The Ottomans want us to send them troops to lower our favors, done.

3 May – Our Peace Treaty for Dukladir for cancelling their military access is done and we can now DOW each other.

Byzantium is still around.

I order a Spy Network bult in 6 province to our east Mid-Turkey nation called Eretna – no claims on them. Ideally that would be great after Dulkadir to grab them and expand east before the Turks do so west.

Sorry I forgot to mention that Tbilisi has a Great Project called “Narikala Fortress”

The Mamluks have take three south-central Turkish holdings that were Karaman’s then next to the Turks

1 Jan, 1456 - Eretna DOWs them trying to finish them off.

13 Jan, 1456 – We get an event and choose to confirm law, get a +10% Ulema Loyalty and cross 60% which is our next Mission – “Appease the Ulema” for this we get - +25 Legalism move. Next is build some Mosques

02 Nov – The two remaining Karaman provinces are off the map – Eretna grows by 2 and is 8 big now

18 Nov – Cores done in our four new systems of Trebizond, Guria, Kars and Olnu

I stateify the latter three.

1 Jan, 1457 – We order a Mosque in Trebizond

1 Mar – We get new Military Tech!! It’s 5

Standardized Pikes – It allows Muslim Duel Infantry – I swap over and then better calvary shock at +0.2 and infantry shock at +.15

2 Apr – The province of Kakheti is cored!!

20 April - The last three holdings are cored!!

1 Jan, 1458 – Our Shiekh is now righteous!!!

24 Jan - We capture Kaysera and then head to Candar’s captiral of Sinop with my main army

01 Feb – We get the next Tech for ADMIN!!! But I’ll wait until post war since I won’t drop my ADM too much for coring.

24 Feb – We arrive at Sinop and then begin their siege.

13 March – We capture Dulkadir’s captial of Marash, I order them to Sinop

14 Sept – We get an event and get a 2 level Trade Adviser for 2 half cost named Ghayath Aybuk and he’s 30 I hire him we need the DIP tech increased although that takes me negative

7 Jan, 1459 – We capture Sinop!! Next is Kastamondu where their army is hiding

30 Jan – We thump their army

2 Feb – I get a peace offer from Kandar I decline, I am looking for more than cash and War Reparations

18 Mar – We capture the last Kandar holding which is a nicer Copper mines on the Black Sea

Actually, one Turkish holding is still in Turkey, called Canik between Trebizond and Sinop.

I claim Constantinople!!! I mothball my forts

If I DOW Byzantium they can blockade the strait, so I’ll need a fleet to guarantee my troops can cross and then backup transports to move early. I take out a loan since no war cash came. My naval forcelimits are 16. I was hoping to build 2, 5, 5, and 10 transport Cogs so instead I’ll do 2 Early Carracks, 3 Barques, 3 Galleys and 8 Cogs.

We finish a Mission called “Fate of Anatolia” where we need to capture 25 holdings in this area. We get 20 years of -10% core costs and then we get a new mission to “Conquer the Ottomans” I need to get to 40 here and I have 31

Meanwhile any good Mamluk border ones? Adana in Turkey is Cotton. Also, Syria’s fun Antakiya is Cloth. So. whatever gets us those plus Byzantium’s Constantinople and then next to them is a small dev Salt holding.

I order my three armies in Egypt into different vectors, and then the one next to Yas to take it out and then Cairo and two Adani and two Ajami holdings then Makkah on the Arabian side with our merc army I cannot split up.

They have 4 holdings left with not that much stuff, nothing more than 2.5 and just 41 to grab them and take Ajam off the map!!! All cored!!!

Soltanieh – This 7 dev Wine making Mountains holding is Sunni and Azerbaijani

Savah – This is Persian and Sunni in Drylands with 7 dev and Grain

Abarqah – Livestock here but just 3 devs next to Zagros and in Mountains. These people are Sunni and Persian too.

Khorramabad – This level 2 Fort growing Grain in the Mountains is our best dev at 9 with Sunni and Luri folks which are accepted.

We still have a 99% warscore with Egypt so I just need to finish capturing in the Arabian Peninsula to ensure we can take it.

11 Nov- Another Minor falls. Can I grab Adan or Hadramut in separate deals? How much would their good development be? Adan’s is higher, but neither of them will do separate deals while they have troops and captured stuff in our area. So we’ll wait until that happens.

Now, who should be my next War? Mahra’s 3 provinces in Arabia that connect us by land, and their nearby Isle of Socotra? They are allied to Aden, Baluchistan and nearby big bad Ethiopia. Ethiopia is at War with Egypt and I could DOW them a Defender of the Faith claim or just to take across the strait from Mokha Tajura I have a claim on but they are allied with Portugal so nope

Or I could DOW Medri Bahra next to us in Nubia for their Gems Red Sea of Masassa and they have two Ivory holdings and then are just allied with Ethiopia at war with Egypt.

Then we could DOW in Southern Africa Mutapa next to Inhambane with three claims on Gold and Ivory very rich stuff. They are allied with Mombasa, Makua, Mahafaly and Betsimisaranka - those last two are on Madagascar

Or I could DOW Timurids, or Transoxiana who took out Khorasan we have tons of claims on. The Timurids are allied with Jaunpur, but Transoxiana cut them in half in a big war, so they might make sense instead. They are allied with our ally in Delhi an I’d like to keep them and Baluchistan.

1 Jan, 1577 – I order troops to their places! 2 armies on the Arabian Peninsula next to their level 2 Fort of Jazan, two sent to its capital of Mendefera and 2 to Ethiopia’s capital of El Obeid and then the rest to the border to grab the goods!!!
