I have ventured in to trying to create a number of fictional leagues to just add something different. I recently completed a 20 team Europeans setting using the new EFA alliances and the remaining EFL current/old teams. I did add a London team to round it out.

I will come back here with more questions as I have them but for now just a couple.

1) After running a number of mutliple season tests I have noted that almost all, more than 95%, of the Bowl games are being played in locations in the UK. Question is: How are the Bowl locations determined?

2) The two files, "cities" and "area", feed data points. I have modified the "cities" file to add locations for teams that had none. I have not modified the "area" file yet. The game models the US, Canada and UK. I am just wanting to determine what files are required for formatting international leagues as well as any league that may include various international teams from locations other than those in the game.

At this point this league seems to play well but all of this seems to restrict the creation of leagues outside of one having teams located the the three modeled countries. So any help, clarification, other than what is in the text files would help. Otherwise I am going back to working the North American formats I have.

The team has to be marked as a "host" in cities.csv at minimum - beyond that, I think the game sticks to whatever country you have teams in. I don't know what happens if you have an international (i.e. US & UK) league.

How difficult was it to add new cities to the game? Did you update their weather data as well?

You got me excited that there was a field that determined whether a city could be the host of a championship game, but it wasn't until getting time to look at the cities.csv file that I noticed you said "at minimum" -- still this might be fun to play around with.

Thank you for that. The "ISHOME" makes sense that it would choose from those locations but it is primarily, I believe, used to identify a location that would/could have a team, i.e. for relocation as well as new league format. I haven't explored this or any of the rest of the regional information (ISHOME, CLOSEST, TVAREA, DISTTV). No I did not mod the "METRO AREAS" file either for weather. In one attempt I just identified US cities that were the closest to the international location and use that as their identifier. Total immersion kill. I also dabled with the "AREAS" file and added cities there to feed the "CITIES" file.

The international format is extremely challenging and really not worth the effort at this point. I am about to finish the first 1/3 of a 40 team format schedule where I balanced out (i believe I did) a strength of schedule rotation over the conferences and divisions. With this I will just concentrate on a what if american expansion, a what if historical expansion and likely a fictional league. A modified cities file will have to be part of each.

I've kicked around the idea of adding international host cities and creating a worldwide league but yeah, I agree it's a little much. I'll try it if I can think up a good enough idea for it.
