Iron Working and no.

Heads up, I'd like to get Meditation next for the building it provides. The bonus to research is very nice.

ntndeacon 12-05-2006 08:56 AM

sure I will put myself up for State.

Flasch186 12-05-2006 09:28 AM

I will wait for other nominees w/o positions excluding Governorship's of active cities until noon-ish. If there are no other nominees, marathoner or a late entry from a newb, you will win without challenge.

Flasch186 12-05-2006 03:02 PM

ntndeacon is the new Minister of state

We look to enlightened direction from your insight regarding matter sinvolving trade and treaties and direction regarding any Great People who step forward among the masses.

ntndeacon 12-05-2006 03:12 PM

is there benifits associated with each religion, Flasch?

Flasch186 12-05-2006 05:00 PM

I dont believe so. AFAIK, the creator of the game actually wanted to make sure that all religions were exactly equal to avoid conflict or controversy BUT there are civics that benefit your city's if you have many religions there vs. some that prefer only one religion, etc.

ntndeacon 12-05-2006 05:07 PM

thanks. As my first act as Minister of State I declare Hinduism as the Official state religion.

Flasch186 12-05-2006 05:16 PM

one of our mines out East of Edinburgh has been repaired, Edinburgh's workers continue to repair these things.

Hinduism already is our state Religion, sir.

Flasch186 12-05-2006 05:31 PM

Gi, Stirling has graduated an archer (and 2 archers that were sent out from Edinburgh awhile ago in a hunt for barbarians are going to end their search in Stirling here ina few days), what should the city begin working on now?

232 The Parthenon
174 Hippodrome (+1 :), +1 gold, +2 culture, +1 grt. artist chance...+50% grt ppl BR in all cities, +1 :) / 50% cult. rate, provides 4 war chariots w/ special promos)
232 Temple of Artemis
69 Ranch (+5% food prod. w/ cow, pig, deer, sheep)
232 Statue of Zeus +10 cult +2 grt ppl, reduces maintenance in nearby cities
232 Mausoleum of Halicarnassus

Flasch186 12-05-2006 05:35 PM

We have heard word that a people far from here have built a true wonder to behold, they call it the Sphinx.

gi 12-05-2006 06:02 PM

Start on Walls, until population is equal to 2. Then begin work on a worker please.

Flasch186 12-05-2006 06:14 PM

so do you want to complete walls? or switch to worker immediately when Stirling grows, leaving the walls unfinished to go back to at a later time?

Once population equals 2, stop walls to build worker. We will finish the walls at a later time.

Flasch186 12-05-2006 08:54 PM

gotcha, will do.

Flasch186 12-06-2006 08:51 AM

mrsimperless:

We have completed our Hindu Temple in Edinburgh, what shall we begin work on now?

(10) Jewish Temple
(36) Parthenon: +10 Culture, +2 grt artist, +50% grt ppl BR in all cities
(27) Hippodrome
(36) Temple of Artemis
(36) Mausoleum of Halicarnassus

Flasch186 12-06-2006 05:18 PM

I will await Mrsimperless' decision until 800pm tonight EST...however, I will open it up to ALL of the governors for input at this time.

Coffee Warlord 12-06-2006 06:00 PM

I'm thinking we go for another wonder.

gi 12-06-2006 06:47 PM

Oracle vote here

Flasch186 12-06-2006 08:59 PM

i need a few more votes, so Ill wait overnight to see if some other governors chime in with their vote. If not, I will move on your 2 consensus.

mrsimperless 12-06-2006 11:10 PM

Sorry guys, the time difference hurts sometimes.

I'd like to see us complete the Parthenon, but I'm not sure we can get it done in time.

Flasch186 12-07-2006 08:37 AM

Parthenon it is per the Governor, I will command your workers to chop trees to help boost us towards a hopeful completion.

Flasch186 12-07-2006 12:59 PM

CW

Youre not going to believe this but being only a few bricks away from completing the Pyramids, we have heard word of a similar project being completed in a far away land. Our people will begin to dismantle the bricks and sell them off, filling our coffers making us the wealthiest country in the known world.

Since this has occured what shall we begin work on now:

granary 7
monument 3
Jewish Temple 10
Hindu Temple 10
Hippodrome 27
Temple of Artemis 36
Statue of Zeus 36 +10cult, +2 grt merchant, reduces maintenance of nearby cities
Mausoleum of Halicarnassus 36

Coffee Warlord 12-07-2006 03:40 PM

Sonuva....

Coffee Warlord 12-07-2006 03:41 PM

Let's try Oracle then, dammit.

Flasch186 12-08-2006 10:00 AM

We have heard news of a Great General being born in a far away land:

Jayavarman II is the founder of the Khmer Empire. He established the devaraja cult as the official state religion, and the reunified the old kingdom of Chenla, which he expanded and formed into the Khmer Empire.

Jayavarman II comes from Java (it is unclear where he came from, Java meaning also 'abroad' in traditinal Khmer scriptures (Phalli)) to succeed to the throne as Java's vassal recently. He asserted Khmer independence this year, when he also was installed under Hindu rites as devaraja or god-king. He established his first capital at Indrapura on the lower Mekong river and then at Hariharalaya, followed by Mahendraparvata, in the region just north of the Tonle Sap (Great Lake), close to Angkor, the next seat of the Khmer Empire, which is its capital. Under his able leadership, the Land Chenla and Water Chenla principalities were unified and the united nation was renamed as Kambuja after their family lineage. Henceforth will begin the long line of Kamboja princes in the land of Cambodia.

In this year, king Jayavarman II had himself declared "Chakravartim" (king of the world).

Flasch186 12-08-2006 10:11 AM

After Construction of the Oracle in Glasgow we have been blessed by a visitor who bestows upon us the knowledge of one of the following technologies, which one shall we take full and total advantage of at this time:

(11) Meditation: BUILD monastery, buddhism
(5) Boating: Work water tiles REVEALS pearls
(14) Writing: ENABLES open borders, Heritage (civic) REVEALS coffee BUILD Library
(33) Horseback Riding: BUILD stable
(56) Metal Casting: BUILD Workshop, forge, The Colossus
(27) Monarchy: Build Winery, King's Saga, ENABLES Hereditary Rule

Coffee Warlord 12-08-2006 10:15 AM

I vote we go for an advanced one. Metal Casting or Monarchy. Writing is a fairly quick one to get.

ntndeacon 12-08-2006 10:23 AM

I vote Metal casting. might as well take the one that takes the longest.

gi 12-08-2006 10:42 AM

Metalcasting

Marathoner 12-08-2006 03:31 PM

I vote for metalcasting too.

Flasch186 12-08-2006 03:59 PM

Flasch186 12-08-2006 04:02 PM

CW

What shall Glasgow begin work on?

granary 6
monument 2
Jewish Temple 9
Hindu Temple 9
Hippodrome 26
Temple of Artemis 35
Statue of Zeus 35
Mausoleum of Halicarnassus 35

Coffee Warlord 12-08-2006 04:07 PM

Barracks and Hypathingy (the military unit), in that order.

Flasch186 12-08-2006 05:20 PM

i will set up your queue accordingly.

you did see the added stuff I type under the picture as also being available right?

gi 12-08-2006 05:49 PM

I vote to research Meditation next. I like the building it provides and it will be quick.

Coffee Warlord 12-08-2006 08:13 PM

Yeah. Barracks are always important, and I wouldn't mind another soldier, however. There's nothing else in the queue that's absolutely necessary in my mind.

Flasch186 12-09-2006 07:13 AM

GI, Stirling has graduated a worker who has begun to reign in the Cattle just East of the city. While a wall is next in the queue I'd like to make sure that that is the direction you would like Stirling to go.

Settler 32
Worker 19
Scout 6
warrior 6 (there are 3 archers and 1 warrior in Stirling already -CW)
Hypaspist 14
Archer 10
Battering Ram 13
barracks 22
granary 26
forge 26
monument 13
ranch 35
hippodrome 87
Temple of Artemis 116
Statue of Zeus 116
Mausoleum of Halicarnassus 116

Coffee Warlord 12-09-2006 09:42 AM

I also note. Since we have bucketload of cash from our sold Pyramid stones (*grumble*), I would say we use it to our advantage and build a couple more cities while we can still afford keeping research at 100%.

gi 12-09-2006 05:14 PM

Carry on with wall please. Once the city gets to 3, switching to settler might be an option.

Flasch186 12-10-2006 08:15 AM

not a bad idea at all sir.

Flasch186 12-10-2006 03:51 PM

This has come up again from a Ottoman Emmisary, this now rests on NTNdeacon's desk:

ntndeacon 12-10-2006 05:41 PM

Our position on the open Borders matter have not changed in regards to the Ottoman Empire.
No thank you Turk boy!

mrsimperless 12-11-2006 05:18 AM

Just a reminder, I think we're playing with random personalities. So we don't really know who the aggressive civs are.

Flasch186 12-11-2006 07:40 AM

Im fairly certain the Cherokee are pissed, no matter what. We didnt do anything and he hates us.

Flasch186 12-11-2006 07:45 AM

The barracks in Glasgow has been completed and the trainers begin to work on a Hypaspist.

Flasch186 12-11-2006 07:55 AM

Edinburgh has finished an incredible project:

Flasch186 12-11-2006 07:56 AM

What shall Edinburgh work on next:

Jewishtemple 14
Hippodrome 37
Temple of Artemis 50
Mausoleum of Halicarnassus 50

Flasch186 12-11-2006 07:57 AM

All city screens have been updated. You'll notice NE of Edinburgh, just north of the gold mines we have spotted some ore which looks like Iron, visible in the city screen.

mrsimperless 12-12-2006 12:28 AM

Are we still in agreement that we're ready for another settler with our abundant treasury now? If so Edinburgh can go ahead and produce the settler. If not build a monument (unless this doesn't really do anything useful as I have no idea what it is for) and then whatever military unit that CW would like. Also, if we don't have any extra military units to escort our new settler then producer a defensive unit first to escort him with.
