I'm not sure it is an improvement over the armor spell, unfortunately -- certainly not at the cost it would take to make it worth your while.

Yeah, a robe +3 is interesting. I mean, it's a robe, so it sucks, but it's +3. I'm not sure how that compares to my studly leather armor +1.
