I was checking on the free game(s) for this week and noticed that they have it listed as a Mystery Game. So probably a pretty popular one

2) theHunter: Call of the Wild. Yep a Hunting Simulation

theHunter: Call of the Wild got a good bit of play from me when it first came out. It was enjoyable, but still had very limited equipment. I have loaded it to see what you get in the base game now, but you can go broke buying DLC packs for it.

1) Dungeons of Naheulbeuk-a quirky humorous tactical RPG

Grime: Its a fast paced action adventure RPG where you form weapons out of body parts as you struggle to survive what the world throws at you.

1) Elder Scrolls Online-I like this MMO, and I think most any fan of the Elder Scrolls games would too. Has a few DLC's as well.


2)Murder by Numbers-solve pixel puzzles to find clues, use those clues to investigate suspects and find the murderer.

I claim these games every week and almost never actually play them. Makes me wonder, does Epic pay these companies on "purchase" or on download / first launch? I have to believe a ton of people that claim Severed Steel for example will never install it.

Yeah me too. I claim a lot of them even though they aren't my area of interest-cause you never know right? :)

I forgot how many games I have in my Epic library. I think it's around 60 or so? Maybe more. I would say 95% of those were free. I am not sure if I have installed or played more than two?

I still appreciate their generosity!

1)Black Book-a dark ROG adventure where you play as a young sorceress in a world based on Slavic legends. Combat is card based


2)Dodo Peak-in this classic arcade platformer you play as a dodo trying to rescue your lost babies from dangerous peaks

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak

Cave Story+. Info on it says its the most well known indie game of all time. Not known to me though. It's an old school platformer with some anime roots

Spelldrifter-a turn based RPG/collectible card game hybrid that I've never heard of but could be worth checking out.

Allegedly, Football Manager 2023 was going to be free through Prime Gaming starting today, but nothing yet.

Yeah I had signed back up for Prime this past month and saw that it was going to be available. I just went and found it on the Gaming page so it is available through Epic. So you should be able to get it now



The rest of the free games available looks rather bleak though.

They're basically all old SNK games. I got an old Baseball Stars and King of Fighters free a while back. Every now and then Prime gives away a decent game.

1)Out Of Line-a 2D platformer/puzzler where you try to escape the Factory that was your home and explore a strange world


2)The Forest Quartet-At first I thought this was some spinoff or DLC for the game The Forest. But no its a 3D narrative puzzler where you play as the spirit of the now deceased lead singer and try to gather the band back together for a final concert.

1)Model Builder-this one is for all you model plane/car/etc builders out there


2)Soulstice-An action RPG set in a dark fantasy world where you play as one of two sisters

Not free game news, but just saw Epic is laying off almost 20% or 900 people. So maybe not free games for much longer?

I think I recall reading that the free game each week offer will officially end at the end of this year.

But, yeah, laying off 20% of your workforce isn't great. That Fork Knife money may finally be running out.

The amount of money these companies are spending trying to force the metaverse on their customers is crazy.

I mean the Metaverse is technological snake oil targeted at CEOs of billion dollar companies, right?

I did see last spring Epic took out debt to invest 2 billion in metaverse infrastructure. Seems insane. You could ask literally anyone not in a board room or employed by a company developing the metaverse if that would be a good idea and I bet less than 1 in a thousand would have said yes.

I guess there was another round of layoffs at Epic due to the financial situation the company finds itself in despite having one of the most popular and successful videogames on the planet AND the most popular and successful engine on the market.

I always wonder how the CEOs and the board running these businesses survive situations like this.

So usually I download the free games at Epic except if they are not in my wheelhouse for the kind of games I like, so have to say this might be one of the few that I have no interest in:

I think it was on Humble Bundle, so most of us probably already had a shot at it.

I would only play it if I am allowed to fudge a bank statement.
