I know we have a bowling thread (after all, I started it), but I'm going to brag here. Last night, I bowled my highest game ever, a 279.
X X X X X 9/ X X X XXX That damn 10 pin hosed me in the sixth frame. :( |
Be proud. That's pretty damn awesome.
|
You bowled a heck of a game Pumpy. Heck of a game.

Ties my best.

Well bowled, Pumpy. Well bowled.

Thanks for the warm words, folks. My highest game keeps progressing by two pins. Three years ago, I bowled a 275. Earlier this year, I bowled a 277. Last night was the 279. I guess 281 is next, but I'm hoping 300 is next, of course.
Edit: And I just realized after typing that how difficult it is to score 281. That's a really strange number to get in a bowling score. That's like X X X X X X X X X51. That would be a superior choke job to start off with 10 strikes and then bowl a 5 count. I hope I never do that. |
Live HSFB webcast tonight as Athens Academy (3-0) hosts Prince Avenue (4-0) in a rivalry game to kickoff region play. Pregame at 715p, kickoff at 730p.
I'll appreciate it, the students who produce the webcast will appreciate it even more (including my own kid) http://bit.ly/aWyR3s *I don't know where the hell to put these links when I remember to do them. We didn't do a HSFB thread this year, I don't really want to start a thread just for this, I'm sticking it in here because, well it is pretty random. |
was at the school today waiting to pick up the kids and one guy was talking about updating his family crest to add something that represents his two kids. One kid is Griffin, so that one had an obvious representation. But he was stuck with something to do for Carter. I suggest a peanut.
...and got nothing but blank stares |

I was on Percocet when I broke my arm and it's really an amazing drug. When you're on it, you feel perfectly normal with no pain at all. You start to think, "This doesn't really hurt that bad", and you think it's time to stop taking it. Once the effect wears off though, you realize just how much pain it was masking. I bet a lot of people really hurt themselves badly because the percocet makes them think they do more than they really can. |
HEY!!!!!
This goes out to everyone on this board... Have a good weekend! |

Mexican Coke is really good. Although now that I can find it from multiple locations, I'm sure I will tire of it quickly. I snagged a case from Home Depot the other day. Surprising to some, but it's the most Mexican thing at our Home Depot.

I will never tire of Mexican Coca Cola.. it was the one food returned to me from my youth. Marathon bars, New York Seltzer, Oreos with trans fat, Candy Raisins.. gone, all gone. |
With 24 glass coke bottles I could pretty much rule that one African tribe. Crazy god indeed.

You know when you pull off/out your headphones just to make sure everyone else isn't hearing what you're hearing? I know you do.

No, shockingly enough, we don't have the day laborers that I hear that most places do. |

I hope to hell they don't get rid of them. I'm faster than any manned register could hope to be.

We had a golf scramble fundraiser yesterday and for 4 or 5 hours, I kept the kids busy by throwing the football with a bunch of them. I haven't thrown a football in probably a decade (aside from the cushiony ones I throw to my kids in the house). My freaking arm feels like it's about to fall off.
|
I was bowling in Pittsburgh this weekend, but unfortunately, my dreams of Pumpy showing up randomly did not materialize. I should have told him that I was going to be in Pittsburgh to see if he wanted to meet up.

My frickin' arm is throbbing from the flu shot I got today...it's never been this sore in the past. I wonder if it has to do with them putting three strains of flu in the shot this year?

Do you mean a Nerf Football? |
No. We have an assortment of balls that are made out of all sorts of fluffy stuff they like to throw in the house. Not quite as firm as a nerf.
|
A nerf can do damage in the house. These things usually have enough give that they won't take down lamps and picture frames, etc.
|
My wife hates football Saturdays in the house. lol
|
Ok. I thought were referring to a Nerf ball as a fluffy ball and was upset for a moment.
|
I get away with it mostly by telling my wife that it's good for the girls' eye/hand coordination. Of course, yesterday a glass of milk ended up spilled, so that's gonna set us back a week or so in our "training sessions."
