You had me at Mind Flayers, Balder's Gate 3:
Baldur's Gate III - Official Opening Cinematic Reveal Trailer - YouTube Gamespot has a few more videos on the game too including some of gameplay |
No Man's Sky for $23 at Fanatical through the weekend.
|
Tom Clancy's Division 2 is $3 at Ubi-Soft through the weekend:
Buy Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 Standard Edition for PS4, Xbox One and PC | Ubisoft Official Store |
AI War 2's first DLC, The Spire Rises, is out and just over $7. Which is criminally low.

The game itself is 50% off until 3/5 as well. ($10) |
So despite the warnings, I sprang for Wolcen. My impressions after 8 hours or so:
|
Quote:
It feels a bit like Diablo with a touch of Grim Dawn. I think it's a fun, but flawed game with the potential to be great. It's a long way from great at the moment though. |
Quote:
Yup, good description. I agree wholeheartedly. |
Expansions / add-ons sale for the next 6(ish) days on XBox. Mostly 25%-50% off best I could see.
Picked up Civ 6 expansion bundle for about $38 instead of the usual $50 as an example, tho looks like a decent variety of things being offered. |
Just finished playing Pillars of the Earth as it was on sale a few weeks ago.. I've never been a huge fan of Point and Click games, or games that are mostly cinematic and primarily story driven... but man. That's one of the most memorable games I've ever played I think, just really well done.
|
Yes, your grace was released today, anyone play it yet?
|
The game I've been looking forward to the most since it was announced at E3 a couple years ago is finally out today! Ori and the Will of the Wisps, I'm so incredibly excited to play this one, and if I like it as much as Ori and the Blind Forest, hopefully get in on the ground floor as people start working on speedrunning routes. I almost never replay games once I beat them a single time, but Ori was such a wonderful experience for me that I kept looking for ways to keep it fresh. I got into speedrunning for 6-8 months a couple years ago, but I had controller limitations and eventually hit a peak that was well below what the best players could do. Luckily a randomizer came out for the game which kept it fresh almost infinitely. I've probably beaten it 200-300 times or more.
Reviews for the new game have been great. I have avoided all spoilers so I don't know a lot of details, I have seen a couple screenshots and they're gorgeous. I have a small twitch community still (haven't been streaming much over the last year like I used to), and I have a contest going for people to guess how many times I'll die during my first playthrough (prize is a gifted copy of the game), I got about 25 people entered into that and its the most excited I've been to stream something in a very long time too. Just super pumped. Anyway, I'll post impressions after actually playing it tonight. Its just a platformer, nowhere near the depth or length of many games that most of us prefer here, but to me its just perfect, the music, the graphics, the story, the controls feel perfect, the skills flow together in a wonderful fluid way... hoping the new one has that same feel. |
I watched Cohh play the new Ori yesterday. It looks really fucking good. The visual style is very well done.
I am going to pick up the first one at some point when I get over my current RimWorld addiction. |

Good luck with that!:lol: |

I know, right? |

Is that Ori and the Blind Forest? The Definitive Edition is onsale at Fanatical for $10 right now. You're welcome :) |
Quote:
Thanks @Thomkal. This is my first time using Fanatical. Of course they offer me 2 mystery Steam keys for another $1.89. I'll find out what those are after work. |
Quote:
Be curious what you got for those mystery keys-some people don't like them because of the whole loot box/gambling thing. I got one at some point, but don't remember what it was. Don't be surprised if one of them is an Ubi-Soft game though-always seems to be a sale on their stuff. |
Farming World and Tempest is what I got.
|
Quote:
Neither of which I have heard of, but who knows-they could hit the right spot with you. |
Age of Wonders:Planetfall for $20 at IndieGala
|
Quote:
Farming World is what it sounds like, a farming management game. Tempest is a Pirate action RPG I guess. I doubt I will play either one. |
Quote:
no there's a NEW Ori aventure Ori and the Will o the wisps |

He was responding to me saying I was going to buy the first one. |
"I've got a present for ya!"
I'll probably be in on this. The digital version is priced reasonably ($20) and these were probably some of my favorite games from my teens. I'm glad they're making it available on Steam and not just Origin. |
The new Ori game is on XBoxLive which you can subscribe to for a $1

The Royalty DLC seems to have cured me of my Rimworld addiction, there's something about it I dont like. |

If I remember correctly, I loved Ori until I ran into an enemy that was immune to the build I was running, and there was very little I could do to go back and rectify that situation. My own fault for a one-dimensional build, but still disappointing. |
Quote:
This is precisely why I didn't add this to my build of rimworld. it just sounded shitty to me. |
Quote:
Hm, there really isn't anything that's just unbeatable if you skill wrong. I'm 100% certain there was something you could have done, the game was tricky at times for sure. And there is one creature in the game that is immune to all damage, the little things that spin really fast and just roll after you. You get rid of those by just bashing them away. Probably too long ago now to remember for sure I assume, but if you do, I'm curious! |
Quote:
It's been a while...I think I was running a heavy physical build and it was immune to physical. I had barely leveled my magic stuff, and while I could damage it, the creature was taking an absurd number of hits relative to the rest of the stuff I had fought, mostly because I had completely ignored the magic damage. I always meant to go back, because the game was pretty amazing to that point. |
Three free games at Epic this week.
Anodyne2-a platformer where you get minaturized into a character's body and have to deal with the strange world you find there. A Short Hike-you are a bird traveling through(or above) Hawk Peak, trying to make it to the summit or just exploring the back country Mutaziaone-described as a mutant soap opera where small town gossip meets the supernatural. So yeah its weird. I think you play a young woman trying to figure it all out. Next week if all goes at planned, its a big week with The Stanley Parable, and Watch Dogs 1. |
Quote:
OMG.. one of my favorite franchises of all time! Day one purchase for sure. |
Labyrinth: The War on Terror is a fantastic board game that is in early release on Steam.
This game is a good one. If you like card driven games, this one is right up your alley. |
Steam needs to have a real blowout sale. Lots of people "working" from home for at least next couple weeks.

I bought this on DVD several years ago. It didn't age all that well. Although I did like seeing Ric Flair as a character in Red Alert (3?) |
Stumbled on Fort Triumph yesterday (on sale $14). If you're into X-Com, worth a look. Based in a swords & sorcery background, but gameplay is very X-Com. Pretty fun in the early goings at least. It's early access, but very playable.

Ric Flair was in the addon for RA3 |
Gog.com has the Witcher Goodies Collection free for the next couple of days. Various arts, books, wallpapers, video game concerts, soundtracks, behind the scenes of the making of the various Witcher titles, etc.
|
Paradox has been running a "Content Creators Cold War" Livestream the past couple days leading up to the release of the Federations DLC today. Every player has (I think) been given a new Federation origin and a public and private goal. I think this is the general stream from Paradox, and you should be able to access the various content creator streams too:
Stellaris: Federations - Content Creator Cold War #1 - YouTube Stellaris is on sale at IndiaGala for $7 (limited number of keys) |
Stanley Parable, an exploration/puzzler game where you are trying to get out of your office, a great game with fun voice acting and the original Watch Dogs, a Hacking game/RPG set in Chicago probably not suitable for kids are the free games at Epic this week.
|
Thanks for the constant reminders @Thomkal.
|
Panzer corps 2 releases in 30 minutes in Steam, can't wait!

Here's something to keep you busy through the weekend. Football Manager 2020 having a free weekend. Couple other games too. So I have to ask if this version has a tutorial in game for the soccer uneducated like me?

Gog.com contributing to the CoronaVirus out of things to do with a list of 20+ games that are currently being offered for free. Its Gog, so mostly these are older lesser known games but there are a couple Ultima games on the list, Shadow Warrior Classic, Postal, and at least one game Legend of Keepers that just came out today and has a free prologue-its got some elements of Darkest Dungeon and Slay the Spire in it:
