Gog.com has another free game now:Mable and the Wood-a Metroidvania type game that came out last year.

Dungeons and Dragons Online and Lord of the Rings Online, both games you only can play for free for so far before hitting a Pay Wall have announced they are going "mostly" free to play through sometime in April. I actually like D&D Online's gameplay quite a bit even though its been around for 10+ years now, but hated their pay wall so much I deleted it from Steam. So I would recommend it for some one looking for things to play.

I have to say its nice to see game sites and stores coming out to help its players out in this time of crisis. I hope other companies (Blizzard I'm looking at you) do their part.

Thomkal 03-20-2020 11:05 AM

So the important question is: Do I watch Doom Eternal or Animal Crossing videos/live-streams now? :)

Yes, If you are a fan of PC1 or the old Panzer General games, this is an upgraded version. Easy to learn, deep enough.

I've never played them but this one looks fun. I grabbed it and will give it a go here shortly, thanks.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker for about $15 at Fanatical for the next 18 hours or so.

Any suggestions on good, cheap strategy/sim type games that are are a bit less 'high maintenance" than the Paradox games ?

Thomkal 03-23-2020 08:54 AM

I missed this over the weekend. Tomb Raider (that came out in 2013, not too familiar with the franchsie) is free for another day or so. A lot of the DLC's and other editions are heavily discounted too.

I'm also interested in this, although I'm willing to pay regular price for a "good" game. But my only requirement is that the game can be played/finished in 30-60 mins. I don't really have the focus right now to dig into a meaty 20-40 hour+ game.

Frawful 2 is free on steam

Save 100% on Drawful 2 on Steam

let's get a game going :)

Thomkal 03-25-2020 10:37 AM

The various Endless games are on Sale for about -75% off the next few days and Endless Legend is free to play. They have a couple of bundles of DLC's at somewhere between $10 and $20 too which is a good deal if you are a bargain hunter like me :)

All of Amplitudes games are excellent, but Endless Legend is one of my favorite games of all time.

NobodyHere 03-25-2020 11:30 AM

The only Endless game I've gotten into was Endless Dungeon, and I've still never beaten the darn thing.

Yeah I haven't beaten it either. I like the other games too but hard to compare Stellaris and Endless Space. I think one of the bundles is a combo deal where you get Legend, Space (1? and 2), and Dungeons plus a few DLC's for under $17 which is a really great deal if they have been on your wishlist for a while.

This is the perfect time to buy them and lose yourself in worlds where CoronaVirus doesn't exist (I think). You're welcome  Let us know what you think of the games

For some reason, this is the Endless game I can't seem to get very far in before losing interest.

I have 176 games in my Steam library. I have plenty to play but I can't resist these sales.

I can get everything 'Endless' that I don't have for $32.

Too many DLCs for so many games.

EDIT - Promises broken. :(

Not opening this thread again. :D :D

I guess I will just have to PM you then. :D And I refuse to look at how many games I have combined between all my game services.

Thomkal 03-25-2020 01:59 PM

I don't play this game so not sure how good of a deal it is, but IndieGala has Kerbal Space Program for $7 for next 6 days or so. That's about 80% off.

Thomkal 03-25-2020 04:01 PM

If you have the Symbiosis DLC, play with the Mykara. It's my favorite faction as you only have one city to take of. Of course you can still capture cities, you can't develop them.. you just get their resources. Your main focus is to control the Urkan beasts and building fungal blooms on points of interest to gain resources.

I seem to be buying more games. If I could just get a nickel for each game on Steam I've purchased but haven't played more than 1 hour, I would be filthy rich!

Excited for Wasteland 3 coming in May.... arghhhh so many games, but so much time to play since I have nothing going on the weekends with soccer cancelled and no sports on TV.

Don't have the Legend DLC's-I've seen the Mykara played though when the Yogscast played a game of Endless Legend. Certainly an interesting faction. Thanks for the tip.

Figment, a trippy adventure game, and Tormentor X Punisher a game where everything can be killed in one hit including bosses, but you have to survive whatever traps they set so you can't get that one hit are the free Epic games this week

tarcone 03-26-2020 08:46 AM

Man, I wish they would release Command and Conquer early. I looked through my wish list and Library and nothing is jumping out at me.

There's actually 3 free games this week. World War Z, a co-op zombie killer is also free

Well even better news for Endless fans, the Endless Legends base game is now free through March 30 if you link your Steam account to their website. And because their new game Humankind isn't ready yet they are instead giving you a copy of the Legend DLC Guardians for free as their way to get you through the virus. So glad I didn't buy any of DLC's yet :)

Totaly Reliable Delivery Service, a wacky crazy game where you try to deliver packages is free for a week at Epic. More games there tomorrow.

Thomkal 04-01-2020 07:32 PM

Itch.io has a massive relief bundle for the next day or so to help independent game developers who have been affected by the cancellation of the Game Developers Conference due to the Corona Virus. You can pay any price tp get over 160 games but if you spend just $10 or more you will get Steam keys (and 5 games) for each game rather than having to download individually. You won't have heard of most of these games, but that doesn't mean you won't get enjoyment from many of them.

Offer only good for the next day:

Gone Home, a story exploration mystery set in 1995 where you return home after a year abroad and expecting to be greeted by your family, you find instead everyone is missing, and Hob, an action-adventure sci-fi/fantasy? game set on another world and you have to find out why the planet is in peril are the free games at Epic this week.

My son and all of his friends are having more than their fair share of fun with this one.

Glengoyne 04-02-2020 11:48 PM

Elite dangerous is 75% off for a bit still.

I've gotten totally lost in this one from time to time. Space travel, trading in a mega economy, exploration, mining and combat(piracy, bounty hunting, or PVP) all in a "life sized and scaled" Milky Way. 100 Billion solar systems to explore. Go get your name associated to one of them.

If you are remotely interested in space or flight sims, give it a whirl. Great game. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s better than what comes out of a Nutri-Matic machine.

ARK is $10 on Steam through the 23rd.

Sym|Metry a survival game where your research ship crashed on a desolate planet and you must find out what happened there as well as keep your crew alive is free on Gog.com for the next 48 hours or so,

Flasch186 04-03-2020 03:05 PM

in the last two days I've bought Police Stories and Yes, Your Highness and I still haven't cracked open FM2020. I just feel like I'm missing one game to really capture me. I keep going back to Civ 6 for :30 minute increments but it's just meh at the moment.

Thomkal 04-07-2020 01:24 PM

So I had always wondered what an X-Com like game with superheroes instead of aliens would look like...I wonder no more. Sentinels of Freedom is due out later this month.

Nookrium, a recent find on You-Tube has a 2 hour stream of it. I really like his channel-he plays a lot of the games I like including roguelikes and looks at early access and new games as well as established games:

Atocep 04-07-2020 01:40 PM

That's probably the closest thing we'll see to another freedom force game.

Thomkal 04-08-2020 08:51 AM

Stardock's games are the Humble Bundle games this week-Ashes of the Singularity, Star Control I, II, III, and Origins, Galactic Civ III and some of their DLC's and a couple more can be yours for about $10
