anno 2070 is the type of game i end up watching tons of youtube videos and be hella impressed but still would never dream of buying right now. Iīm having trouble enough as it is getting to play my historical-type strategy games (just got back into AOE I and II, Crusader Kings II and Total War Rome), think Anno would be too "far fetched" for me to invest the time right now.
But yeah, looks helluva impressive from an interface standpoint as well as just graphically :) Endless Space is to be had for cheap btw ! (66% off) Wouldnīt buy it again for full price like i did, but fot 10 or so bucks it is propably a solid game if you play this sort of game. If you are into racing games, F1 2012 is 50% off. The previous version was tons of fun (but with a few bad bugs) on the 360 as essentially a debut version, i suppose with a year more on their backs and with PC mods itīs a really good game. If anyone is looking to get a visually impressive story-game, Dear Esther is 50% off. Actually thereīs not that much of a story and thereīs been discussion if itīs even a game technically, but itīs a couple hours of great atmosphere to get immersed in. |

Let us know what you think of the game. |
I bought Anno 2070, but haven't gotten into it. Looking forward to hearing what the legions of folks buying it here now will think and maybe that'll spur me into action.
|
Tempted by Endless Space...but can't quite get a handle of it. Need to read a few more reviews, but tempted.

It's a fantastic turn based strategy game and at 66% off, it's a steal. |
Anno 2070. Campaign seems like a giant tutorial. Which is good, since there is a lot to grasp.
The game has me impressed so far, despite the hand holding. Can't wait to finish the campaign and get to do a sandbox game. |
the Batman games are 75% off.
|
I'm in the Anno campaign and its not exactly was I was expecting, but I',m enjoying it. I thought it would be a little more SimCity and a little less shooting down gunboats.
|
So, playing the campaign for Anno 2070 nicely. Chapter 3's level of involvement shoots up ridiculously. Just pure island building and resource chain management. :)
First mission took me 3 hours to complete! I'm betting continuous games will be ridiculously long. Hehe. |
That sounds promising
|
I bought that game a while ago. I need to fire it up, I guess. :)
|
of course, when I convince myself that Lego: LOTR wouldn't go any lower than the 10% off it was and I decide to buy it, yesterday, it drops to 33% off today, bah... oh well...
It's a lot of fun though... FM |

It might still be $7.49 on Amazon. |

yeah, had seen that but not available to people outside the US and not giftable, from what I understood... Didn't feel like fighting it out. :( FM |
Quick, vote for FM 2013 at 50% off in Community's Choice!
|
Boo. Bloodbowl: Chaos Edition won.
|
dang i guess you missed FM13 at $14 the other day on greenmangaming.com i posted it in the Game specials thread. Hope it goes down to that price again

Ah. From what I've read you just need to put in a US address, and I've never heard of anyone having trouble doing that. Only issue that you could run into is some games have region locks like Civ V, though typically if you're in Canada with a US key that isn't an issue. |
STEAM questions for you regular users. All i do from Steam is buy games, nothing more. So i don't know gifting, community, etc. Here's my questions.
Back in November, i purchased King's Bounty: THe LEgend for 7.50 on sale and I just finished it today after putting around 60 hours into it - good game btw. Now i Want to buy the sequel and its expansion. They are ten dollars each, on sale right now, but a bundle has the first game, second game and its expansion fir 17.50 or something. If I buy the bundle with the original game, which I already have, can I gift that game, will I own it twice? How does that mechanic work? |
Extra Copies - Trading and Gifting - Knowledge Base - Steam Support
Doesnt look it like. Only a few Valve games and Dawn of War II will give you extra copies. |
Ah well, i was hoping I could hook someone up. Thanks for the linkie
|
I think it depends. I've only ever ran into this once. When I preordered XCOM I got a copy of Civ 5. I already had it, so I gifted it to someone here.
I think you'll be able to give your extra copy of King's Bounty. |
I'ma buy it now and we'll find out. It;s still teh best dela to get Crossworlds and Armored Princess.
|
LOL - It tells me this as I go to buy it:
† Note: You already own the following items in "King's Bounty: Platinum Edition". You will not receive extra copies of these items when you complete this purchase: King's Bounty: The Legend |
Quote:
So that must hasve been where I got that Civ 5 copy from, when I preordered XCOM. Just gifted it recently but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how I got the second copy. |
Can you buy it as a gift? Then from your gift inventory install the one that you want and gift the other?
|
Quote:
No. If you purchase a bundle as a gift and put it in your inventory you have the whole bundle as a single item rather than all of the individual games. |
I once bought the Orange Box but I already had a couple of the contents. It let me give those away.
|
Quote:
It's up to the publisher of the bundle to decide to give extra copies or not. Valve does, almost all others do not. |
then almost all others suck
|
yeah i got an extra copy of Dawn of War II when i got the Dawn of War Franchise pack
|
It's not exactly entirely out of goodwill that Valve does it. They stand to potentially benefit if you gift a friend a game and they register a Steam account as a result. That isn't true for other publishers.

Thanks for buying King's Bounty so it would go on sale just hours later. |
Sure thing!
|
Now you can all enjoy the Bounty. I kill me with jokes! :)

Saw this post and it made me wonder where I am a year later... 1) WWSM 2009 (--) 2) Plants vs. Zombies (--) 3) FM 2011 (--) 4) FM 2010 (--) 5) Defense Grid (--) 6) Skyrim (--) 7) Frozen Synapse (--) 8) MLB 2K12 (new) 9) MLB 2K11 (new) 10) FM 2012 (new) It seems my play time has been spread over several different games over the past year. WWSM 2009 may be at the top of this list forever. Of the 10 the three soccer titles near the top have not increased (and doubtfully will). PvZ had some play. DG had more play than PvZ. Skyrim hasn't had much because I haven't really had the time to commit to it. FS had some play. The bottom three had the most of any of the titles this past year I would guess. |
Goood idea!
My top ten by hours: 1: FM 2012 2: Fallout: New Vegas 3: Crusader Kings 2 4: Tropico 3 5: RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 6: Blood Bowl 7: Fallout 3 8: Tropico 4 9: UFO: Extraterrestials Gold 10: King's Bounty: The Legend at 61 hours clocks in at #10. EDIT: Honorable Mention: Space Pirates and Zombies |
Mine:
1. FM2011 (681 hours. No way I believe this though - I think I just left the game on idle for long periods of time) 2. Skyrim 3. WWSM2009 4. Dragon Age: Origins 5. CK II 6. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 7. GTA IV 8. Bioshock 9. Fallout III 10. Half-Life 2 (15 hours) |

2. Left 4 Dead 2 3. Dragon Age: Origins 4. Mass Effect 2 5. Skyrim 6. Team Fortress 2 7. Terraria 8. Civ IV 9. Mass Effect 10. Fallout: New Vegas (52 hours) Likely to at least pass where New Vegas is by end of next year: Hero Academy XCOM Civ V Borderlands 2 Saints Row 3 EDIT: New Vegas is actually slightly ahead of L4D. |
1. Civ 5
2. FM2010 3. Frozen Synapse 4. Civ 4 5. Dragon Age Origins 6. Dungeons of Dredmore 7. Batman: Arkham Asylum 8. Hoard 9. Torchlight 10. Spacechem |
