So I saw this (i.e. your post) and thought "hmm, didn't know there was a sequel coming for this" ... never played FtK but in my head I knew what it was.

But after looking at the original on Steam, I don't think it's what I thought it was.

I vaguely remember seeing some game where the premise -- introduced & spelled out in a cutscene -- was roughly "king was killed, queen summons heroes from across the land, you all go avenge him for great reward" and the gimmick was that you sorta worked with other characters while also sorta competing against them for the most glory, loot, etc.

But that doesn't seem to be what this is a sequel to ... so I'm confused. Anybody recognize what I thought this was ?

This is basically For the King I-King dies queen puts out the call for adventurers to avenge him yada yada yada. Not sure about the competing against the others part though

That's what I remember, aside from the basic plot, from the cut scene that stayed in my head apparently. There was a little snark passed back & forth between a few characters, another that was all "we'll get the bad guy, that's what matters" etc.

Maybe it was just a not-really-in-the-game cut scene ad, no clue. I think I saw maybe one LP on youtube for it, no recollection of ever watching it though.

Forest Golf Planner is a Kairosoft game, they've had many management games on IOS before. They're fairly fun, and fairly shallow. So once you played a handful of hours, you'll be satisfied. They're also almost exactly the same.

Yes. It's crazy. I had been following the game a bit, since I am always on the look out for games that could be played co-op. It's a pretty spectacular fail.

Only from afar. Seems like the worst roll out of a game since No Man's Sky promised so much on day 1. Don't think this one has a chance to come back from this though.

Considering the developer shut down already and steam isn't selling the game anymore I don't think so.

What? What is this? Totally unfamiliar with the backstory here, but it sounds like a shitshow.
