I bet Danny, actually. Have yet to win a bet this game so I'm only slightly biased, but either way it's a good thing.

The Jackal 04-29-2013 12:54 PM

I also think that most of these purchases are one night abilities - having cunning or reverse cunning last for the whole game after purchase would be rough and potentially hard to track.

I don't actually doubt you, path. I was just putting that out there for full disclosure.

I disagree - I'm willing to bet it lasts the duration. But if we're worried about it surely its Danny who could be giving a false reading as the wording of the bent cop in the services and the wording of my seer scan (checked records etc etc) suggests that they go together. However we have to vote Danny with a positive result and I think it makes more sense to go with him if trusted guys have a bet on him. The winnings from a murra5y lynch would be pretty minimal anyway.

I would trust path more if he found a villager - what a strange game. I'm not going to automatically distrust Path should Danny be a villager though.

unvote murra5y
Vote Danny

FWIW, there was wording suggesting lengthy prior records for Danny as well if that matches sort of what you received from Ms. Black.

I've got no problem with whichever way we want to go, but I won't be around at deadline so will need to know what the consensus is by say 4:00 Pacific or so.

britrock88 04-29-2013 03:50 PM

6-2 Danny at this point, with 2 non-voters, and without Danny or murra5y having voted.

Danny 04-29-2013 03:57 PM

Not much to say here. I am not a wolf, but considering I scanned bad or was said to scan bad, I certainly make sense for the vote. Not really much to argue with. I will vote Murray in case yiu guys change your mind

vote murray

Zinto 04-29-2013 04:34 PM

Well...

Vote Danny

Darth Vilus 04-29-2013 05:07 PM

Im so damn tired, I slept like hell this weekend

Darth Vilus 04-29-2013 05:07 PM

Vote Danny

Coffee Warlord 04-29-2013 05:34 PM

So...

Danny is probably a wolf, and Murray is.

Who's next?

Yeah, the last couple are going to be a good bit harder than the last few were.

Not one that has actually killed someone.

The Jackal 04-29-2013 06:51 PM

Once we get confirmation on wolfiness and take a look at voting we should be able to make educated choices.

murrayyyyy 04-29-2013 07:01 PM

Ugh, weekend from hell with business doing double expect, one computer going down. First time I've sat down so far. On page 14 I think. Give me a while as I'm starving and must eat...

murrayyyyy 04-29-2013 07:23 PM

well crap, all that and the vote is one sided...

Danny 04-29-2013 07:52 PM

Oh well, good luck village

Autumn 04-29-2013 08:01 PM

Deadline

Autumn 04-29-2013 08:08 PM

Now that several mafia members have been arrested in the fair city, paranoia seems to be running rampant. People are pointing fingers left and right, claiming to have caught mobsters redhanded. The DA explains that he can only handle one large case at a time and you pass on the name Danny.

Danny is brought into the station and processed. It doesn't take long to discover that his heart is blacker than black. Not only do the police find ties to the Las Vegas mafia family, they find that the cold hearted bastard used to be a member of the Atlantic City mafia and had secretly turned his coat. Danny simply shrugs, "What did you expect?"

Danny was a former Atlantic City mobster converted to the Las Vegas mafia family!

The Jackal 04-29-2013 08:08 PM

Wow.

The Jackal 04-29-2013 08:09 PM

At least we got the convert early..

The Jackal 04-29-2013 08:10 PM

Oh wait I misread that, he converted from mafia to another mafia, haha.

The Jackal 04-29-2013 08:10 PM

That obviously raises a question on path, but he's not going to get a vote at this point

Autumn 04-29-2013 08:12 PM

Yes, that's very interesting. Though he would know how Danny would turn up and probably wouldn't want to reveal that info more than likely. It's a shame we won't know when he turned.

That raises some questions. How did they convert him? Special mob power?

Autumn 04-29-2013 08:28 PM

I believe I have processed everything. PM me if I missed something.

I really think it was probably the "favour for the mob"

The Jackal 04-29-2013 08:36 PM

Although maybe not, that doesn't really do a favor switching from one team to the other, disregard

The Jackal 04-29-2013 08:37 PM

I guess it would make it tougher to pin him down from a voting standpoint, in terms of protecting his teammates, but this was probably a mechanism hidden to us, so I doubt we'll be able to pin it down.

JAG 04-29-2013 08:45 PM

That could potentially be it, giving each side a mob conversion ability. That means that the Vegas mobsters know all the Atlantic City ones. That could be why murra5y was targeted with the thug ability.

path12 04-29-2013 08:47 PM

Shit, I missed the arms dealer bid by $41.

JAG 04-29-2013 08:48 PM

I can't say I like the idea from a game perspective of letting groups of bad guys who ultimately want to get rid of each other know all their members though. We won't know until after the game if there could be other restrictions associated with it. It's funny to me I couldn't fully read which side Danny was on when he was working for both.

I actually did this in Enter the Cubicle. I forget how I resolved them knowing each other without killing each other. It has been a few years. ;)

Coffee Warlord 04-29-2013 08:56 PM

Went after the Casino Manager. Unsurprisingly, my piddling amount of money didn't get it.

The Jackal 04-29-2013 09:02 PM

I donno, maybe the conversion was only activated if they "scanned" someone from the other team.

JAG 04-29-2013 09:05 PM

After murra5y is eliminated and presuming he comes up wolf, I think Zinto deserves a look again. He's gone underground as far as providing any input after he gave his scan info and that's really been his only information shared this game. I think with only a couple people left to go, that shouldn't be enough to exclude him from consideration.

The Jackal 04-29-2013 09:17 PM

Agreed on Zinto, I was in a pretty trusted place for a trust-buying scan

mauchow 04-29-2013 09:20 PM

Looking at the players in the game, it's incredible there are more Mafia deaths than residents five days in. Wild, wild.

Coffee Warlord 04-29-2013 09:26 PM

S'what happens when there are no night kills.

Narcizo 04-30-2013 02:53 AM

I don't understand the mechanic that allows a wolf to convert to a different faction. Isn't that a huge advantage to the faction he moves to? As he can just tell them who his former wolfmates were.

I wonder if there were actually only 5 wolves. 3 Atlantic City and 2 Las Vegas. Then if Las Vegas go down to one before Atlantic City lose anyone then one of the Atlantic City mob switches to Las Vegas. Pretty harsh on the Las Vegas mob at the start and phenomenally bad luck that Jackal targeted fonti so early.

Anyway, murra5y today and barring a clearing scan Zinto tomorrow seems to be the way forward.

Narcizo 04-30-2013 03:04 AM

That doesn't really explain why Danny apparently voted to save DT on day three though, as he would have been Las Vegas by that stage.

So yeah, maybe a wolf nightkill on a wolf results in a conversion - so it would be 1 Atlantic City/2 Las Vegas at the moment. Was it night three there was an unexplained lack of night kill?

So I guess that looks like the likliest bet - Danny got converted night three. I guess there's some sort of rule that he's not allowed to reveal his former teammates or something, or doesn't have PM rights with his new teammates although that's really tricky I would have thought.

mauchow 04-30-2013 06:36 AM

Yeah, that could make sense on the PM rights... He would have needed to buy the PM service in order to send a message.

Autumn 04-30-2013 07:42 AM

Twenty minutes to get your bets in.

Narcizo 04-30-2013 07:55 AM

Wonder if Zinto/Vegas mob actually scanned Danny on night two and there's a conversion mechanic when one wolf team know someone is on the opposing side. Zinto was pretty sure that Jackal was villager so he "cleared" him. Atlantic City Danny voting Britrock instead of fontisian on day two sort of makes sense to me. He would be hoping that the Las Vegas mob wouldn't look at him while there's enough people on the suspect list above him to mean that the village would turn a blind eye to his (and DT's) vote.

Day Three he's still Atlantic City so he votes Britrock over DT to help take the heat off of DT. Then night three he's converted.

I approve my interpretation of events.
