Check in! Your Abe has arrived.

I'll be the first one to up vote someone to two. Let;s make this a contest.

Vote fontisian he; the first one alphabetically, and really, what else do we have to go on anyways? :)

Totally subject to vote changes as per usual.

The Jackal 05-08-2017 08:51 AM

Last two posts are technically invalid votes guys

The Jackal 05-08-2017 08:51 AM

Vote CR

The Jackal 05-08-2017 08:53 AM

For not reading the rules and the same basic logic as Autumn's vote for JAG, I think it will be useful to know the role of a strong player, even if speculation might be necessary

cheekimonk 05-08-2017 08:55 AM

Checking in!

There are two "power players" that I would love to know their role from the start...

cheekimonk 05-08-2017 08:56 AM

vote JAG

There's quite a few power players (which yay, good job EF), who were you thinking of?

Telle 05-08-2017 09:06 AM

Well I was thinking of voting JAG, since he opened the voting and I don't like the use of random.org ..but at this point it would be a bit of a pile-on. *ponder ponder*

Instead of tattling he may make a one time night attack of a player that he has previously scanned. Once using that attack he loses scan ability. Oh, and he is a little paranoid so his scans may not always be accurate.

Irwin "Skippy" Handelman - Always love-sick for anyone that looks his way. He has gotten over Mallory by latching on to anyone that looks his way. This means that anyone that looks his way cannot get rid of him. If he is scanned at night he will annoy the scanner so much that any subsequent scan by that player during the game will result in an opposite scan of what it would have been.

Les Nessman - Always the newsman, he is looking for a scoop under ever rock. Les may follow one person each night to see what that person was up to. He may not always see it exactly right as he has never been quite right since that turkey incident.

Unknown abilities aside, there's already some craziness in these roles. Frank Burns looks like the seer, but his scans may not always be accurate?

Ahh, the joys of D0 vote analysis. :D

You are correct, though I do know that I am NOT one. The two that immediately jumped out to me from the games I've played are JAG and CR. That's just from the games I've played and my personal experience with them (i.e., my initial reaction is "oh shit/awesome, JAG/CR is against/with me!"

edited "against/with"

Telle 05-08-2017 09:45 AM

Not only that but it's possible the seer could be a wolf, or are there some folks (the "major" roles) who do know their alignment already?

I agree this is going to be a crazy game given the role descriptions and the error built in, even before the fact that most/all of those roles could be playing for either side.

bhlloy 05-08-2017 10:33 AM

DOLA - to add to that asking about the three different colors on the role description, am I just dense and their meaning is obvious? Or did EF just get bored after a few? :)

Team leaders for wolf and village and a neutral.

EagleFan 05-08-2017 11:04 AM

Wanted to add that unvote is also legal.

Using the same rules as voting.

Will add that to the rules.

As for ties... only I know the perils, or rewards, or a tie. Will add that as well.

The afternoon is quiet as everyone has settled into their rooms. The cardboard "mattress" in the middle of the floor may leave a little to be desired but at least it is far enough away from the bucket.

Everyone has their own room, so privacy is not an issue... well, if there were doors on the rooms it wouldn't be an issue.

Outside of the rooms there is a communal area. This area is furnished with the nicest folding chairs that money can buy. IT is quite obvious that no expense was spared with the entertainment center they setup for the group to use. It is a black and white 13 inch TV that looks like it was from the 50's. Of course, there is no reception but the static channel works well.

Around the hall there is a room with a door. The door is locked but it looks like the last person to leave didn't pull the door all the way shut. There is a sign on the door that reads "Official Personnel Only! Violators will be strictly punished."

Since he isn't adding the final line, it isn't considered a violation.

Well since one of the votes on JAG didn't count, and there's now another player with two votes, I think I can put aside my earlier concerns regarding adding to the run on votes for JAG and go with my first choice...

I'm hanging on this quotation mark.

EagleFan 05-08-2017 02:32 PM

Better? Maybe it's time for a Bull Moose... :)

Not really, just missed it that time. But now that I see I can have fun with it...

mauchow 05-08-2017 03:38 PM

So I guess the question we may want to ask ourselves, do we want to reveal a potential valuable role this early? Can we abstain? Is this the only vote in which we will have this opportunity?

Just wondering.

bhlloy 05-08-2017 03:40 PM

I would guess from the ominous sounding message earlier that we don't want ties. I don't think by just not voting we are going to avoid a role being exposed if that is what you are thinking

My understanding is that outside of the captains, any other role could end up on any team.

That is undoubtedly why the roles all seem hamstrung. We don't have reliable seers and many of the roles can make mistakes of various sorts.

I think this is the only time, giving us something to do while the captains pick teams. I considered not voting, but given the fact that the roles are hampered, and could end up on either team, I think it's more useful to have the information than it is dangerous to reveal it.
