Yeah, Bale looked nasty. I have a feeling he was barfing in order to get that thin. |
Frida
The movie itself, 5/10. Salma's nudity, 25/10. I don't care if she DID have a unibrow in it... |
DVD - Sideways 8/10 (although it might get bonus points because I was unable to watch it without drinking large amounts of wine)
Theater? Can't remember - it's been a while. |
Richard III - Comcast On Demand
9/10 - Based on the Shakespeare play and set in a 1940-ish time period, this is a lavish and intense movie that shows Ian Mckellan at his very best. Fantastic art direction. |

American Movie is 10/10 for me. |
American Movie is a 10. No question about it. One of the funniest movies ever made.
I get the urge to watch it all the time, but I let somebody borrow the DVD a few years ago and never got it back. It's like $25 for a new copy, which is a steep price to rebuy at, so I've been American Movie-less for too long. Quote:

Just watched Collateral again.. 9/10. Very good flick.
|
Supertroopers: 8/10.
Easily one of the funniest movies I've seen in years. I feel stupid for having waited so long to actually see it. |
It: 7.5/10
It was originally a TV movie, and the adult actors aren't nearly as good as the child actors, but hey, Tim Curry makes a freaky ass clown. Also, bonus points for being a Stephen King adaption that isn't completely terrible, though I haven't read the book. |
Sin City
6 out of 10 as a movie 10 out of 10 for gore factor and innovation. |

Huh? What have you been smoking? Quote:
Ah, now I understand... |
The Great Raid
I was dragged out to this movie without knowing anything of it. Sometimes not seeing a trailer, or knowing the plot or cast can be a good thing. I entered the movie with no expectations and they were met with a boring, dull snoozefest. Felt like a documentary on the history channel without commercials. Highly not suggested. 2.5 / 10 |
Dead Poets Society
8/10 |

Ugh. 1/10. |
Last night's DVD of choice....the all powerful Sneakers.

Last Movie at home: Spanglish - Overall 5/10, first 90 minutes 7/10 last 30 minutes 1/10
Last Theater Movie: Batman Begins - Overall 9/10, would have gotten a 10/10 if they got rid of that lame ass unrealistic car. |
I liked this:

This is my favorite Ebert work of late:

Spicy Latins 10/10

I saw 4 brothers. 6.9/10
|
6.9?
|
The Life Aquatic
I gave it a 7/10, but I really like Bill Murray the wife gave it a 2/10, but she liked how it looked. |
Good Will Hunting Last night...10/10

Ebert is the most worthless "reviewer" ever. He lets his politics cloud every single movie he sees and then reports on. Not only that, but he's a hypocrite. He dogs certain movies for being commercial and shallow, yet he is both of those things himself. The fact that people like him alledgedly get paid to give "thumbs up" on certain movies makes every single thing else that he comments on worthless.
I guess you could say that I dislike him intensely, and critics as a whole maybe a little less intensely. |
Ebert is awesome.

And if his politics influenced all of his reviews, he would have loved "The Life of David Gale." |

Every single movie? Really? Can you name five? Quote:
Um, Ebert is probably one of the friendliest of any respected film critic to major Hollywood films. Quote:
Wait, the fact that people "like him" (not him) "alledgedly" (apparently you have no evidence) get paid for a "thumb ups" (which has nothing to do with his pieces for the Sun Times) makes everything he says worthless? That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing your extremely rational opinions. |

Your welcome. :) |
finally watched Collateral last night for the first time. 8.5/10.
If you guys don't mind reading sub-titles, you should check out a movie called City of God. It's very good. I give it a 8.5/10 also. |
just watched the DVD of Kung Fu Hustle, Chow is the BEST! Hollywood needs to take some serious notes.
9/10 |
Just watched House of Flying Daggers
7/10 |
Big Fish. One of the most mixed reviewed movies I've ever heard about. Finally watched it.
Solid 6.5/10. Nice touching story, but nothing overwhelming. Helena Bonham Carter and Alison Lohman are winners. |

Kind of a sad unusual moment. I was looking at Big Fish on IMDb, and checked out Karl the Giant's bio. He died 8 days ago. |
Shaun of the Dead - 6/10
There are some very funny moment, but too damn often I couldn't understand a word of what was being said... |
Coach Carter
8/10 |
March of the Penguins
9 out of 10 ice floes |
In the theatre: The 40 year old Virgin - 8/10
DVD: Troy - 4.5/10 |
Hostage 8/10
Bruce Willis rocks although some things in this movie didn't make sense. |
DVD - Million Dollar Baby - 5 out of 10. Not sure what the big hub-bub was about, boss.
|
Redeye - 7/10
Decent enough movie but some of the acting was overdone and and the plot was kinda out there... |

Just saw it and suprisingly really liked it. 9/10. I say suprisingly, because I normally hate Tim Burton's directing. Also saw Sin City and I'd give it a 7/10 having never read the comics. A couple of the story lines were good, but I thought the Del Toro one about the peace between the cops and old town dragged. Next up: Kung Fu Hustle and Oldboy. |

I saw this in the theater and LOVED it... but I lived in Europe for a while and didn't have an issue with the dialog. solid 8/10 for me... I saw Skeleton Key a couple weeks back... It was ok, ending was bleh... 5/10. -Chas |

4.5 for Troy? Ugh! That movie rules. --- House of Flying Daggers - 2/10, hot chick and that's about it. I couldn't get over the stretch of the imagination type stuff, such as a blind girl who happens to be the most baddest fighter in the land. |
