Notre Dame with a good win at NC State. Hartman throwing 4 TDS and no interceptions, I am not sure if ND were underdogs but most everyone thought they would lose this one.

ND was a 7 point favorite as of yesterday

Game was fairly close until NCSU came apart.

I really hope Georgia gets punished for their schedule. We want to see some big time games and we will basically learn nothing about Georgia until they play Tennessee and then again nothing until the SEC Championship. It’s a real shame. Hope they lose a game and SOS haunts them all year.

If Joe Milton remains at QB I doubt you learn much about them from that game either :(

dubb93 09-09-2023 05:07 PM

Same goes for Michigan. I wish teams wouldn’t make their schedule scared.

larrymcg421 09-09-2023 05:54 PM

Nice to see the 2021 version of Tyler Van Dyke back. I don't know who the hell suited up as him last year

Georgia was supposed to open with Oklahoma. The SEC forced them to drop the game when they made this agreement with them and Texas. Left them screwed for this year.

Dick Van Dyke seems like the best comparison to 2022 version

Sure hope they come out PO’d at their performance.

Ugly win at 28-6 but I'll take it.The defense won it for us. Nice to be 2-0. Next week is BYU so should be more of a challenge, we better get our act together.

JonInMiddleGA 09-09-2023 06:05 PM

Rarely has a 17 point final margin been more deceiving than Ole Miss over Tulane today.

In what direction (I've been out all day, so I haven't seen anything about the games)?

Tulane outplayed 'em for much of the day, despite having a not-ready backup QB play the whole thing.

Ole Miss took a 20-17 lead with 12:50 to go. Led only 27-20 with 2:56 to go.
Tulane onside kick fails, Ole Miss bungles the possession ... but hits a 56 yd FG miracle with 1:56 left ... and a sack and recovery TD provided the final margin.

GrantDawg 09-09-2023 06:24 PM

You know why Tennessee is playing so rough? Those ugly uniforms.

GrantDawg 09-09-2023 06:36 PM

Is there a more overpaid coach than Jimbo Fisher?

Well, Ed Oregon still makes $750k monthly at the moment sooooo ....

But other than that lol

JonInMiddleGA 09-09-2023 06:50 PM

Scary injury to Miami's Kam Kinchens in the final minutes of the A&M game.

He was carted off, backboarded, finally awake & talking but not moving basically.

A definite thoughts & prayers situation that casts a real pall over what should be a joyous moment for Miami :(

GrantDawg 09-09-2023 06:53 PM

Such a great win for Miami, but just a bad situation to have an important player like that carted off.

This season is going to be insane. North Carolina is barely hanging on versus App Stare.

A northwest Miami native to boot I'm told.

I think my kid summed it up "just took all the air out of everything" :(

albionmoonlight 09-09-2023 07:15 PM

These are just kids . . .

It's sobering enough in an NFL game.

College/HS is another level of stomach churning.

GrantDawg 09-09-2023 07:22 PM

App State is driving to tie or go ahead with less than 2 minutes left.

Ghost Econ 09-09-2023 07:24 PM

If betting was legal in SC, Furman over 7.5 in the first half at +480 would have been the easiest money...

SirFozzie 09-09-2023 07:26 PM

Can Appalachian State do it again?

GrantDawg 09-09-2023 07:32 PM

Not looking good. They let NC march down into FG range.

Ghost Econ 09-09-2023 07:43 PM

That was the dumbest, longest last 7 seconds of a game in history.

GrantDawg 09-09-2023 07:50 PM

They just can't stop that NC running back.

cuervo72 09-09-2023 08:40 PM

I swear Texas was trying to snap it through their QB back to their RB on that sneak.

Let's see ...

#23 Aggies lost
#24 Tulane lost

And on upset watch list

#13 Oregon down 18-20
#19 Wisconsin down 24-9

Doubt the Hogs make it into Top-25 this week, but if they take care of business with BYU, possibly the next one.

... and Go Horns!

GrantDawg 09-09-2023 08:42 PM

Whatever happens here, you have to think this is a beatable Alabama team.

Thus far, they've looked like a Gator Bowl-bound Alabama team

JonInMiddleGA 09-09-2023 08:58 PM

“So far, the reports that we have on (Kinchens) are that everything seem to be relatively normal, so I’m going to head over there right after I get done with the press conference and see how he’s doing,” (Miami HC Mario) Cristobal said.

GrantDawg 09-09-2023 08:58 PM

What a terrible time to throw that pick.

GrantDawg 09-09-2023 08:59 PM

And just like that, from down to a two score lead.

RainMaker 09-09-2023 09:09 PM

No clue what defense Texas is running there. Getting great pressure and just leaving the middle of the field wide open.

GrantDawg 09-09-2023 09:11 PM

They have left several receivers wide open tonight. They are lucky the Bama quarterback is so inaccurate.

If this was a wrestling match, the first three quarters were a hoss fight, and now we're in a spotfest (close to a spotmonkey) match.

JonInMiddleGA 09-09-2023 09:23 PM

5 TD catches in the Bama-Texas game so far ... 3 by UGA transfers

(I ain't saying what that means, if anything ... just found it interesting is all)

Vegas Vic 09-09-2023 09:30 PM

Without Georgia, is the SEC even considered to be a Power Five conference anymore?

cuervo72 09-09-2023 09:37 PM

Texas holds on, I say rank them #1, drop everyone else a spot. Screw y'all for scheduling high school teams.

(Not that it really matters this early.)

GrantDawg 09-09-2023 09:40 PM

They by far have the best win of the season. They probably should jump up to one, but they won't move that far. How far does Bama drop? I would bet they are still ranked above Texas. Rankings are stupid.

Sent from my SM-S916U using Tapatalk

RainMaker 09-09-2023 09:42 PM

They should be at least 2. Probably 1 until Georgia plays a team with a pulse.

cartman 09-09-2023 09:43 PM

HOOK EM HORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edward64 09-09-2023 09:45 PM

Congrats Texas!

And yes, Texas will jump Alabama in next poll.

GrantDawg 09-09-2023 10:04 PM

I didn't know Mick Luckhurst's son was the kicker for Cal.

Coastal Carolina had its home opener against Jacksonville State today. Only led 10-9 at the half, but finally pulled away to win 30-16.

RainMaker 09-09-2023 10:54 PM

Rough start to the year for the SEC.

it may be a rough year in general for the SEC. Nobody has looked good so far honestly.

cartman 09-10-2023 10:16 AM

Alabama is 0-8-1 all-time against Texas when the Longhorn's starting QB makes it past the first quarter
