Alabama continues with their great schedule. SO many tough opponents. Today they are rolling powerhouse Mercer 35-0.
I dont see why they arent perfect in the college football rankings with that stellar schedule.

{yawn}

They opened the year with FSU while most teams were playing their own cupcake. Jealousy isn't very becoming.

tarcone 11-18-2017 01:04 PM

Waiting for that. Thanks for the softball.

People have bitching about Wiscys schedule. They played BYU who was a 10 win team in 2012 when Wiscy scheduled them.
B1G plays 9 conference games instead of 8 like every other conference, so they are limited in who they can schedule.
People complaning about B1G schedules are just wrong. You cannot do anything about scheduling your conference. You get what you get. That leaves 3 games to schedule. Schedules are made years in advance.
Complaining about who plays who is a useless endeavor. It is what it is. You win every game on your schedule, regardless of who is on it, you are a good team.

Thanks, Jon.

tarcone 11-18-2017 01:06 PM

But to follow that up. Wiscy is struggling and Michigan is gaining confidence. It may not matter after today. Though tOSU still has a slim chance. And if Miami loses today, that may improve.

CrescentMoonie 11-18-2017 01:16 PM

The B1G is a cupcake. I don't like the way the SEC and some ACC teams schedule late games against FCS opponents, but at least their conferences have a few good teams.

The "mighty" Wisconsin Badgers have 99 yards well into the 3rd quarter with 0 points on offense.

Edward64 11-18-2017 01:19 PM

You guys are going to see a pretty cool fumble recovery in the college highlight reel today! (AR-MS)

CrescentMoonie 11-18-2017 01:24 PM

Rough day for Benkert of UVA. 18-20, 4 TD, but 1 of the 2 incompletions was a pick 6 to tie it at 28.

larrymcg421 11-18-2017 01:24 PM

Miami finally puts a good drive together to make it a one score game. Then Virginia's QB, who has been owning Miami all game long, throws a pick six and it's now tied up.

tarcone 11-18-2017 01:31 PM

And Wiscy goes up 14-10.

larrymcg421 11-18-2017 01:34 PM

I'm all about the U, but that was a terrible no call for pass interference.

Alas, being "a good team" isn't the criteria for pretty much anything. Nobody is looking to get into "The Hall of Good".

As for 9 vs 8, if the conference that can't figure out how many members it has is too fucking stupid to schedule well, that's kind of on them, not everybody else.

And, in the end, still hardly anybody with a clue gives a fuck.
It's Wisconsin. Deal with it.

tarcone 11-18-2017 01:38 PM

Michigans QB takes a big hit and was driven into ground on left shoulder. Still down on the field. Michigan could be in trouble.

You brought up shitty FSU. They are terrible. I countered with BYU. Who is laso terrible but a 10 win team when scheduled.

Sometimes scheduling works for you, sometimes against. But winning is winning. Doesnt matter who you beat as long as you beat them all.
Alabama gets a pass with their crappy schedule. Wiscy doesnt. Why?

larrymcg421 11-18-2017 01:44 PM

Miami takes the lead for the first time with 21 seconds to go in the 3rd.

tarcone 11-18-2017 01:46 PM

And Wiscy goes up 21-10 on Michigan, who is ranked in the CFP rankings. Seems like they are spanking teams ranked in the CFP 2 weeks in a row.

What a terrible team.

At least Alabama is beating mighty Mercer.

JonInMiddleGA 11-18-2017 02:24 PM

Tough one for Arky there

Fixed.

I thought they played better this week so happy with that but no bowling for us this year.

It's time for BB to go. I wouldn't be surprised if its announced before end of season to put BB and fans out of our misery.

Judging by this post and your posts from the Indiana-Wisconsin game, I think you are confused. There are four quarters in a football game.

Looking forward to some more of your brilliant analysis!

larrymcg421 11-18-2017 02:36 PM

Miami scores 30 unanswered to win 44-28. Once they started putting pressure on Benkert, he wasn't able to get it done.

Play a team with a pulse for once. Michigan hasn't beaten a team with a winning record all year. That was two teams that are legitimately around the 40s in the rankings.

So Wisconsin isn't even a legit top 25 team? Haha. Like I said, brilliant stuff. Keep it coming.

Leave him alone - in two weeks he'll be contractually obligated to become a Texas Tech fan. He'll suffer enough!

JonInMiddleGA 11-18-2017 04:01 PM

Of COURSE GT missed an extra point.
Of COURSE they let Duke tie it up just before half.

#DoinTechThings

JonInMiddleGA 11-18-2017 04:11 PM

$@#%$#@%$

A little defense woulda been nice there Kentucky.

What a complete f'n shitshow those last 5-6 minutes turned into.

miked 11-18-2017 04:30 PM

Rutgers with an awesome showing on the road. Looked like they did not want to even be out there...

Vegas disagrees. Northwestern, Iowa and Michigan are all essentially top 25 teams. I understand you now. It all makes sense now.

BYU 14 11-18-2017 05:10 PM

This is officially the worst BYU team in almost 50 years. A home loss to UMass? Fuck me!!

heybrad 11-18-2017 05:10 PM

ESPN announcers losing their minds over a Baker Mayfield crotch grab.

JonInMiddleGA 11-18-2017 05:11 PM

Instead of firing Ted Roof, perhaps he could be boiled in oil through some sort of Rube Goldberg mechanism?

What a useless SOB.

Sounds like GT

JonInMiddleGA 11-18-2017 05:27 PM

And while we're planning to boil coaches in oil, how about the offense? 1 first down in the 2nd half, 6 yards rushing + 45 passing during the stretch where Duke scored 30 unasnwered points.

tarcone 11-18-2017 05:50 PM

Fuck Kirk Ferentz. Worst coach in the country. And fuck Barta for letting him hire his son as OC.

What a shit show. Lose to Purdue at home on senior day. And just some horrible coaching.

Of course, in his presser he will blame execution.

Fuck him and his family.

I'll trade you CPJ straight up ... but you have to take Capt NoAdjustment as your DC too.

I'd trade Mora and Tom Bradley for CPJ and whoever he has as DC, because he's better than what we have at UCLA.

I'd take Frentz too and I wouldn't even give them back Steve Alford

Our whole staff is Capt. NoAdjustments. We are always out coached. Always.

You were pretty excited a few weeks ago when they walloped Ohio State.

Yes I was. But thats classic Kirk. Win one you shouldnt. Lose one you shouldnt. Happens every year.

This year we have lost about 3 we shouldnt have.

tarcone 11-18-2017 06:03 PM

Here is the conspiracy theory at Iowa.

Win 7 this year and next (guarantees 2 more years of FKFs contract. The full amount). Win 12 in 2019. Apathetic Iowa fans get a boner for FKF and BF. Win the division. Get crushed in the B1G championship game and the bowl game.
FKF retires and names his son as HC.

And the shit show continues.

JonInMiddleGA 11-18-2017 06:16 PM

OMG, the chickenshit little SOB playing QB for Ole Miss just took another slide -- with no immediate contact pending -- before the first down line.

He did the same thing at the goalline in the loss to Arky, when a TD might well have put the game away.

Seriously, this is the most gutless sack of shit I have ever seen take a snap in 50 fucking years.

jbergey22 11-18-2017 06:54 PM

Every week same arguments with the exception of Tarcone either thinking Iowa is the best team in the universe or the worst on the planet depending the outcome of their most recent game. Hearing Wisconsin is a mid 40 team is just laughable but to hear Alabama plays cupcakes is equally as laughable.

Any reasonable argument would have to give into the fact the Florida State is normally a powerhouse and scheduling that game was certainly not a game bama was trying to breeze through. In fact, one might argue Alabama shouldnt even take on a game like when they can pile up enough power wins in conference to build a strong enough SOS.

CU Tiger 11-18-2017 07:25 PM

Play in the power 5. Schedule a quality p5 ooc or two, win your games and your in. It's pretty simple.

Bolded for emphasis especially this season. Only Central Florida didnt appear to control their own destiny this season.

Umm, the professionals dont seem to be much better when it comes to consistency if you are not the Pats or Warriors. As I say that the Warriors are getting pounded by "trust the process" at halftime.

A lot of people love their local/hometown/alumni team but I don't think I see them as immature and childish about it as you. Calm down and think about the priorities in your life if you believe you have to curse another person and his family.

I wasn't kidding about having Ted Roof boiled in oil earlier. It's better than he deserves frankly.

So a hearty "Fuck him" is considerably milder than how I truly feel about any number of frauds passing themselves as coaches and causing immeasurable amounts of suffering in the process.

If you care less than that, frankly, I doubt you actually fucking care. And, as such, probably aren't in any position to pass judgement on anybody who does.

MrBug708 11-18-2017 08:03 PM

Rosen looking good, UCLA's special teams looking awful
