Our warscore is just 1 22 Aug – We capture a west flank minor and pull back, I don’t wanna annoy them with my 31k army 25 Aug – We capture the wartarget Massawa with my mercs 7 Oct – Zigua converts! Now a 50% warscore 5 June – We win the campaign in West Africa’s Mandara 28 June – Tegali falls! Next the Fortress of Darfur 26 Aug – Degehbur falls! Next is the Star Fort of Kaffa I have a warscore of 55% What can I get? If you’ll recall I want the Red Sea down to the crossing over the Red Sea to keep the Turks from heading down the coast after Aden. I’ve wiped out my manpower and need to rebuild. I’ll take as much as possible after my Red Sea stuff until Somalia cares. Ready? North Somalia: Massawa – Wartarget, Red Sea, South of Suakin – 3 warscore, 4 badboy Assab – Red Sea, South of Massawa, 5 warscore, 3 badboy Tajura – Red Sea, south of Assab, strait to Arabia - 8 warscore and badboy, but Somalia cares. Uh oh. What do I do? Do it and then annoy them later? I don’t want Somalia joining Kilwa. But I need to stop the Turks from crossing over, and I need to get land from my 206k manpower spent and years of fighting. I do it. What else? Now it’s just good things Can I get Mokha? Volume 16 - Mzab Chapter One Hundred and Seventy-Seven - Great Work in Kilwa 26 Aug, 1710 - I order: My 36k in Malay back to Borneo I disband my 4 mercs – most will take years to recover, but not the 30k in the Egyptian flank, they are still fully funded. My Egyptian armies back to Egypt I order armies to three captured holdings I order one southern army to Tana, the rest back to my border with Kilwa and Mombasa That was a good military victory not a good economic one. I grabbed down to the strait in Tajura, grabbed the Arabian Mokha on the other side. Now Aden won’t be attacking our rear Fortresses in the border with the Turks but now there against a Star Fort to be upgraded to a Fortress and then I’ll build a Fortress in Tajura on the other side as a backup from Aden as well as to stop Somalia from crossing over and with my navy camping there, Aden cannot move over even after capturing Mokha Then we bisected them with taking Fazughli. That will cut their Western Area from their main holdings, so that we can keep them from supplying them. I’ll also want to build a Fortress there so they cannot take it quickly in the next war. Everything was military in nature, save for the Ivory throw in. Do not that all 6 goods are worth at least 3 since livestock is now a 3.40 value trade good, and that was just one in Gems. Salt is 3.3, Coffee is more than 3 and Ivory is a strong 4. That was a military take, next is economic. By taking Mokha, the Turks cannot DOW them with a Casus Belli in the future after spreading through Aden, although they are allies. That really shuts down the Turks from spreading into my Africa. One bad thing about taking Mokha is that now when I DOW Kilwa and their Arabian Peninsula power Hormuz buddy, they can send over their troops and attack me, so we’ll now be at war here too. Hormuz has lost some land to the Turks and currently has 15k so we can siege them to bring them in in a future war. Although the issue with Kilwa is that with few sieges proper in the last few years since they don’t have any defensive installments in the mainland, I haven’t blown through manpower in this war. Now I need to take some time off and recover my manpower, which replaces lost men in sieges, attrition, and battles, so we blew through a strong 206k in just a few years. I cannot go to war against Kilwa or Mombasa in the soon since I need to rebuild my troops and manpower over a few years. The next war I need to win the economic battle. But this will take a lot of wars, just like Kilwa who already has 7. But even after 7 wars and losing all of that Gold, Kilwa still has a big fat army, so we’ll need to be careful. And I cannot build troops without manpower, so I cannot add to my forces right now. Also gone are our Sailors that you spend to make ships or to repair in ports. I send my navy to berth in Suakin where my 2 captured ships are. They are at 100% after rebuilding, and they are both light ships, and then after rebuilding I’ll send my navy back out again for trade protection in Zanzibar Now I need to recover my manpower. I gain 2702 per month, and we have a max of 264k I need to update that higher and get faster manpower recovery. South of just one, I don’t order a Fortress here 3 Sept – Every Kilwan holding is ours 5 Sept – Wusta in Hormuz falls, next is another minor 19 Sept – Another Hormuz minor falls, next is another minor 7 Nov- Event – Missionaries arrive in Srikakalum and it becomes Ibadi but gains +10% revoltrisk for a massive 20 years A minor Hormuz falls, they have 27k in their capital of Liwa so I order this army to combine with the other for taking it out 17 Nov -Hormuz minor falls 20 Nov – We win in the Gulf and capture 2 ships 19 Dec – We win the Battle of Liwa and they have 12k survive – I begin the siege I have an 84%, can I get the good stuff over at Madagascar? I want their high dev capital, and then what ever else I can snag All of Madagascar would be 74 warscore, but they won’t do it yet since Hormuz is still in this thing. White peace with Hormuz pulls them out of the war. Again I don’t wanna grab land to make a big impression for Turks although they do have some nice things. Now I have a 100% warscore with Kilwa so we can go the rest of Madagascar but I have to wait for my dip to return 1 Jan, 1749 – We get the trading bonus for Tropical Wood - -5% Dev costs 16 Jan – Gedo converts! On Madagascar I order one army to remain in Bara and my fleet back to Madagascar where they can ferry the rest over to Africa, two are ordered over now I have 83k manpower after almost a full year and then a full war in Arabia and Madagascar I order: 4 Stock Exchanges 1 Drydock Universities in 7 Dye and 22 Iron provinces since they are a free building I have 24k left in cash 12 Feb – Slavery gone in Madagascar I got 1 Grain, 1 Ivory, 2 Tropical Wood, 1 Livestock and 1 Wool, all better save for Grain Who got Ivory? Antsalova. The big dev one got Wood which is better than the 2.2 Slaves at 3.0. 15 Mar – I send my spy network building diplomat from Kilwa to Malacca to make nice 1 April – We lose the Slave Trading bonus 1 June – I lose my claims on a lot of stuff. They have 238k, not 23.8k, so they are much bigger than Somalia, and we are based all over them on Sumatra Island with Bengkulu, on Borneo next to two of them, two on Sulawesi, their only ally is Berau. So we wouldn’t have to deal with that. Our navy is better too. That would be hard because we have three flanks and then we’d need around 300k per flank to do it. We’d also lose tons of manpower since we’d have to unload all of my 300k on Bengkulu over years since it’s out only holdings on the island. 1 Mar - I spend more ADM/DIP Power to raise dev of things in Mitija 14 May – With 58k manpower, I spend 31k in West Africa to make a 5th army on that flank – my mil maintenance is 339.77 18 May – A general passes I order 14 more heavy ships in Southern Africa. My naval maintenance is 116.67 I have room for another 177 ships 19 Aug - Zeila converts! Next is Ausa for 18 months, 4.21 made here now 1 Sept – 17k Separatists rise up in Degehabur where my army is 10 Sept – Defeated and we lost 2k 5 Nov – Conversion in Angot! Anything to order here it’s next to 3 holdings. Should I Fortress this? I spend 144 ADM leveling it to level 10 and then order a Fortress here Next is Mendefera for 26 months Let’s look closer at Zeila (4.21) and last war’s big addition Kismayo – making 3.43 They are both Somali culture, which is very common in the upcoming Horn of Africa. I have one extra Culture in my Empire and then 4 more Somali cultures in the area, I move it to accepted since they have high dev holdings to core.
