I might be able to free up some time today if there is a time that works for you. Otherwise, I'd be able to best play after 9 PM Eastern most nights this week.

What up FAU!
Let me know when is good for you, CU. This is a big one for us both. |

Probably some night after 9:30 during the week works best. |

Ok. Let me know which night and I will do my best to make it work. |
Julio
Tonight after 9:45 Im free. Or... Any night but Thursday this week I can make work. |
Quote:
Sounds like Wednesday at 9:30 might be our best bet. |
Quote:
Sounds good. See you then. |

Friday night? |
If Friday night works for you CU, we can make that the tentative date. I will be moving into and getting the internet hooked up in my new apartment that day so I am not yet sure things will be ready to go, but I will be on top of things giving updates.
|
Friday will be tough for me.
My son has games Thursday and Friday nights. Not sure when it will be over or we will be home. |

Let me know when is best - My schedule is free Friday and Saturday all hours, every other day until about 8 pm. |
Well that game gave the fans their money's worth. We spotted USC a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, then set about climbing back in. Most of the game, we trailed by 14 or so, the offenses trading scores. Late in the fourth, we cut their lead to 63-56. We force them to punt, drive it deep into their territory. Inside their 5 with a minute or so left, we decide we need to kill the time on the clock. We run sideways on first to make them burn a timeout. We don't want to kick it to them, because their returner has killed us all day. On second down, we try to burn another USC timeout. (I think it was their last, but possibly only their second.) Our man gets stopped going wide, but doesn't go down immediately, and he fumbles. USC recovers, runs it back 10 yards, and fumbles, but they fall on the ball. Game over. Heartbreaking after a thrilling comeback.
We've got some issues to work out before our rematch. GG, EF. |
Indiana and I just had one of those classic games that will make it hard for me to get to sleep... such an exciting game. Gilmore started out on fire and our defense forced an early interception to help us jump to a 14-0 lead. We managed to take a 21-0 lead by the end of the 1st. But, Kodos was fighting too and nail and he got right back into it as Gilmore threw an interception (his only incomplete pass of the night) and before I knew it, it was 21-14. We went back and forth in the 2nd quarter with both offenses moving the ball with ease. It looked like we were going to go into halftime up 35-28 (with Kodos scheduled to get the kickoff) but Drew Brown had a beautiful 89 yard TD return to end the half and give us a 42-28 lead at halftime.
In the 2nd half, the pace slowed down a bit but Kodos fought so hard to get the lead back. He tried a few surprise onside kicks but we fortunately got them. Late in the 3rd, it looked like Kodos was going to tie up the game but Jimmy Stewart, our star sophomore, had a key interception in the endzone as we broke out all of the stops and played him both ways this game... That to me was a pivotal point that allowed us to get more comfortable with the lead. But, in the 4th, Kodos closed the gap again and managed to get a few stops on us. Before I knew it, we were only up by 7 and Kodos had gotten the ball back. His incredible long passing moved the ball again and he had a chance to score with a minute left... He made an interesting tactical choice to try to run out the clock and passed up 2 opportunities to score. This backfired as we forced a fumble which we recovered on the next play. We ran out the clock and were glad to get out of there with the 63-56 win. A few stats from the game: Lawrence Gilmore was 21 of 22 for 248 yards with 6 TD's and 1 INT. His only incompletion was the 1 pick. Gilmore also ran it 13 times for 91 yards and a TD. Star speedster Stewart had 6 catches for 70 yards and 2 TD's. He also had the aforementioned pivotal interception in the endzone. Kodos had both QB's in the gam as we injured his starter at one point... between them they passed for over 400 yards with lots of long bombs... Gray is a beast and Kodos had a few plays that I had a hard time stopping even with the new scheme that I thought would work better than it did. He ran Gray 28 times for 266 yards and 2 TD's. Wow. What a game. |
Yep. On the long pass that set us up in scoring position, I decided not to try to make it to the end zone.
I'm convinced if we'd scored quickly, you would have set yourself up for a late FG or TD. We hadn't stopped Gilmore all day. If I had scored, I'm pretty sure I was going for 2. The timeout-burning strategy backfired with the fumble, but I think it was the right call. At the very least, not as bad as the last play of the Super Bowl... |
We combined for over 1700 yards in the game. So crazy! I had a lot of trouble winding down and getting to sleep, which made getting up at 5:40 to run this morning kinda sucky. The things we do for fake football.

It was crazy. I had so much trouble winding down and getting to sleep too. I had a huge presentation to my board today, but I still rocked that, so it is all good. I had one of the worst days yesterday and that game was a great way to end a really crappy day. |
For you!
Glad your presentation went well. |
Im staying on for the ladder and that is it. The other leagues are out.
|
Nice!
|
Exxxxxxxxxcellent.
|
So happy you are staying!
|
glad you are staying!!
|
By the way, EF, it's not showing you with a green light, so you might have some recruiting points left.
No rush, JR and CU, just noticed EF's non-green light while checking out the status of the Ladder. |
Quote:
Thanks for the heads-up. I didn't realize that I had not used them all. I'll take care of it today. |
Odd... for me it shows all of my points used and that I'm ready to advance. I went into my recruiting points and checked them all again just to be sure.
|
I had the same thing with CU recently. Strange. Maybe I'm color blind!
|
By the time I realized my playbook did not have punts or extra points or two of my goalline formations I felt it was too late to ask for a restart. I rode out a terrific display of ineptitude in which the FAU team simply destroyed everything I tried. I got some late garbage points but otherwise might as well have not shown up.
GG CU. This will fuel an unimaginable fire for our next meeting. |
Yay. I think we are all set to advance. I'm so excited for my next game :)
|
Quote:
That's annoying when you're missing formations. My last two games against you have been like that. Will try to advance us later tonight. I don't even think being able to punt would have helped. FAU was legit dominant. Running the routes for my receivers and everything. I couldn't find anyone to throw to, my line wasn't able to block, and my RB had no room to run. It was crazy. CU Tiger just obliterated me. |
Quote:
what the hell happened here? It looks like a half kodos half julio post...or kodos somehow watched our game? lol It was a crazy game. We've all had those games where the CPU wasnt going to lose...well my players had that edge tonight. 3 first half INTs sealed it...but there were a couple plays where Julio had me stopped in the backfield and my QB or RB went Tecmo Bowl Bo Jackson and was bowling people over left and right to get the first down. I did find a way to fumble 3 times though. |
Whoa, I was wondering where the hell that post went.
|
I am guessing you hit edit instead of quote. I have done that before in here.
|
FYI -
CU, you are showing up as not ready to advance. |
Thanks for the heads up. Just logged in and all showed ready on ym end and a green light.
I only had like 25 players on my recruiting board but all points were used. I added 10 scrubs just to see if that changed anything. Someone check when you get a second please. FWIW EF it shows you as not ready on my end...weird |
EA clearly has their shit together with this game.
I did have one game where my special teams formations weren't available. I think if you let it call your play, it at least gets your return unit on the field. Not so much if you are trying to punt. |

So odd. I think we are all set to advance then. :) |

I have asked the NCAA Electronic Football Gods to hold this game together as long as they can. I don't want these leagues to die.
|
And just what I needed, a bye after that loss. I get to stew on it. The deep rooted rage builds.
|
Quote:
It does seem like they're letting it die on the vine now. Hopefully they'll at least keep things on a respirator. |
Quote:
They better... I must see Stewart win the Heisman next year :) |
Stanford used their ground game to control the clock early and we were only up 7-0 at the end of the 1st quarter, but Gilmore caught on fire in the 2nd quarter and there was no looking back. He had over 500 yards of passing in a 56-24 win over Stanford.
|
Recruiting done.
|
So just FAU left?
|
Sorry to be the hold up,. will get my game in tonight
|
No problem. We're not even near the deadline yet.
|
Game complete.
