My steam ID is mrkilla22.

Lonnie 12-26-2011 11:33 PM

PilotMan I'll give you Empire Total War for AI War. That is if you don't have Empire yet.

scooter 12-27-2011 11:43 AM

I'm coming late to the game, but I'm NWScooter on Steam. I just joined the FOFC group.

I would have jumped at that deal, but I got Empire in a big pack from GG a while back for super cheap. Thanks though.

Thomkal 12-27-2011 01:29 PM

Got my first free game today from the recommend objective: Hunted: The Demon's Forge. Which I've never heard of before. Looks like it plays best as a co-op fantasy shooter, which makes it likely I would not enjoy it. So will trade it if it sounds like a game you would enjoy.

SackAttack 12-27-2011 04:50 PM

Up to five lumps of coal now. Woo.

Mota 12-28-2011 07:56 PM

I'm really glad to have so many FOFCers on my Steam friends list. Makes it a lot more fun. I have been given free games and have given free games, definitely a great community!

mckerney 12-28-2011 08:07 PM

Anyone want to do a party for the Dungeon Defender achievement?

PilotMan 12-28-2011 08:59 PM

Up to 13 coal, whoopadeedoo!

Lonnie 12-28-2011 09:02 PM

I'm up for some Dungeon Defenders. Was practicing earlier. I got a squire up to level 10 and a mage to 6. I tried the Christmas level but got annihilated.

Lonnie 12-28-2011 09:11 PM

I created a Dungeon Defenders game called FOFC - DarkJoker in the open multiplayer lounge. Join in if you want.

Lonnie 12-28-2011 09:24 PM

Never mind, joined Rockin Ranger's game, message him for an invite

mckerney 12-28-2011 09:42 PM

It's a public game now named FOFC. We're currently leveling up before trying Christmas challenge.

CrimsonFox 12-29-2011 12:51 AM

Got the Spiral Knights achievement finally :)
How I did it (and I don't know if it matters). I tried the lockdown and it wasn't the snow level. So I played through anyway and won. GOt more crowns.
Then re-entered the game and that time it was snow level.
The snowballs are encountered on the floor inside the maze (not at the entrance). Just pick them up by attacking them and then throw them at your target.

CrimsonFox 12-29-2011 12:52 AM

oh yeah, I got the game Risen as my reward for this achievement.

mckerney 12-29-2011 12:53 AM

Ok, the Dungeon Defenders achievement is not remotely easy, at least if you don't have a high level character.

mckerney 12-29-2011 12:54 AM

I got Torchlight for another achievement today, anyone want it?

CrimsonFox 12-29-2011 01:21 AM

wanna trade mckerney? I've got a few things

I got the snow map first time in. That was nice.

Just need one more lump of coal and I'll have seven. What to do then.

CrimsonFox 12-29-2011 02:03 AM

if you trade them in you get a crappy coupon i think :(
if you hang onto them that makes 7 entries for...um...i don't even know what it's for

A chance to win every game on Steam.

Which, I'm not gonna win every game on Steam, so why not spin the wheel and see if I can get a crappy game instead? :D

CrimsonFox 12-29-2011 02:42 AM

oh it's possible to win a crappy game instead of a crappy coupon? then let the dice roll! :)

It is possible to win a crappy game instead of a crappy coupon!

I got a crappy coupon instead, however. Oh well! I mean, you have to figure...Steam says there have been 2.6 million unique users in the last 48 hours, right?

So each lump of coal represents a 1 in 2.6 million chance, potentially, of winning every game on Steam. Maybe less than that, since not everybody is necessarily checking in every day.

Dunno what the odds are of crafting a game out of 7 coals, but they had to have been better than 1 in 2.6 million! :)

i would guess that it is the same for doing that as it is for simply receiving a free game for solving one of the achievements. I already got a crappy game out of that and that's the only "playing a game" achievement I've gone after thus far.

PilotMan 12-29-2011 07:56 PM

18 Achievements
15 Pieces of Coal
2 Coupons
1 Game

Erg.

Mota 12-29-2011 08:33 PM

I have 12 achievements. 1 game, 8 pieces of coal and 3 coupons.

PilotMan 12-29-2011 08:46 PM

Anomaly Warzone is not that fun.

Qrusher14242 12-29-2011 09:57 PM

the games i like so far in the sale:

Beat Hazard - Think my eyes are bleeding from playing this so much, but its just so fun.
Terraria - Havent figured out much in this one, but it looks good
Defense Grid: Awakening - Never played a Tower Defense game before, this game is awesome.

Just bought Space Pirates and Zombies & The Binding of Isaac, but havent really got to play them yet.

Fidatelo 12-29-2011 11:16 PM

I bought Terraria, played it for 15 minutes, and don't understand the point. It seems like the most boring game ever.

EagleFan 12-29-2011 11:29 PM

So far...

22 achievements
15 pieces of coal
6 crappy coupons
1 game (though it was The Orange Box)

It turned around quite a bit as after the first 5 achievements I had 4 coupons and 1 piece of coal.

Debating about crafting or saving the coal as entries.

tarcone 12-29-2011 11:51 PM

Don't you even THINK about buying Minecraft then. Don't you do it! :)

PilotMan 12-30-2011 11:49 AM

I was up to 16 coal and decided to spin the wheel and craft something, and I ended up with a game called Lightfish. Has anyone played it?

Looks like it's an updated version of a game I can't remember the name of that I used to play as a kid.

It's absolutely a game where you have to set your own goals and make your own fun. For me it's tons of fun to build, mine and explore the underground. There are some goals and quests to advance in the game, such as unlocking and defeating different bosses and events, though they won't be given to you in game and you'll have to read the wiki to learn what you need to do.

mckerney 12-30-2011 12:21 PM

Good buys from today's deals
Space Chem - $2.49
Puzzle Agent 1 & 2 - $1.24 & $2.49
Fallout: New Vegas - $4.99
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - $16.99
Flight Control HD - $1.24
Super Meat Boy - $3.74

Thomkal 12-30-2011 12:26 PM

also magic the gathering: Duels of the Planewalkers for $3.99 which I might have to get.

And I love TotalBiscuits videos Mckerney :)

MJ4H 12-30-2011 12:29 PM

Snap bought Puzzle Agent games. My wife likes the Layton games like crazy so for that price they are worth a shot.

Also, I now have 45 steam games. Blows my mind. There are probably 12 of them I've never played (besides PA1 and 2 which haven't installed yet).

On a whole I don't think the puzzles in Puzzle Agent are quite as good as Professor Layton, but they're still enjoyable and I absolutely love the story and atmosphere of the series. Graham Annable's work is fantastic.

And as much as I love Puzzle Agent I really wish Professor Layton was available on PC.

I have 160 games after today's purchases. Most of them (probably 85%) have been purchased for less than $3. I've played about half of them, but of course I usually stock up on them around this time and work my way through them over the course of the year.

Qrusher14242 12-30-2011 06:39 PM

I got the Total War Pack(Rome, Empire, Medieval and Napoleon + DLCs) for $12

Now to find a steam server that lets me download faster than 30k/sec lol Gonna take a while to get these games.

Thomkal 12-31-2011 10:42 AM

So I installed Magic the Gathering last night and tried to run it, got an error-Local data files have become corrupted-use Steam Repair Facility.

What is the Steam Repair Facility and/or how can i fix it so the game works?

Right click on game name in library. There's an option there to do something with local files. Can't remember the exact verbiage, but it usually fixes the problem just fine.

Verify Integrity of Game Cache is the option you'll be looking for.

What's funny is in the initial part of the video they say the name of that game.

I joined the FOFC group. ID should be matthean there as well. I don't expect much playing time until summer though.

The one I played as a kid wasn't Qix, but was probably some free or shareware clone of it for dos.

Certainly. I've got, like, 50 or 60 of 'em.

Genesis *was* my primary game system for close to ten years growing up.
