Tough for football at a Basketball school. Indiana had the same problem and are just now showing some respectability.

JonInMiddleGA 08-31-2021 11:16 AM

Former ISU and NDSU QB Zeb Noland named starter for South Carolina in their opener

3 weeks ago he was a graduate assistant coach.

HAHA! Big game for both programs. This one could go a long way in deciding who is in the champ game.

I will admit, I am nervous about this, given Iowa's soft showings in the first 3 weeks.

Or we will just run the ball down your throat and win by 10.

tarcone 08-31-2021 07:02 PM

Hey Kodos, here is one for you. You will enjoy it.

Who cares about these pretender teams? Coastal Carolina plays tomorrow against The Citadel :)

sterlingice 09-01-2021 08:40 PM

Kansas vs South Dakota
... Friday night (definitely not because this game is the caliber of a high quality high school matchup)
... on ESPN+ (after they've succeeded in breaking up the conference)
... in the only game we'll be favored to win all year.
FML.

Better dead than red.

Ksyrup 09-02-2021 07:11 PM

I had no idea so many games were on tonight.

RainMaker 09-02-2021 07:14 PM

Enjoying the spread out schedule this week but they needed more than one game on Sunday.

I see they managed to fill the stadiette tonight!

sovereignstar v2 09-02-2021 07:28 PM

Drain the clock and we might hold OSU under 40.

Thomkal 09-02-2021 07:30 PM

#22 Coastal cruising at halftime 31-0

tarcone 09-02-2021 09:03 PM

I LOVE college football. Im watchnig Minny/tOSU and at half a jumped to Boise St. v UCF . That was one of the coolest starts too a football game ever.

HerRealName 09-02-2021 09:12 PM

Can I get a sanity check on that penalty for roughing the passer/blow to the head? I guess he put himself in position where the call could be made but that was light from my homer point of view.

sovereignstar v2 09-02-2021 09:29 PM

2021? That has been roughing for quite awhile now.

jbergey22 09-02-2021 09:50 PM

Yup, that has been being called for years now. That headline would have worked better if it had said 2005.

HerRealName 09-02-2021 09:56 PM

I don't think it gets called 9 times out of 10 but Minnesota was called for a pretty light unnecessary roughness on the next drive so I guess it evened out. Minnesota is playing tough football out there - hopefully Ibrahim is ok.

sovereignstar v2 09-02-2021 10:00 PM

Ibrahim probably done for season (Achilles). Fuck me sideways

And they managed to hang on and win 52-14. Great start to the season!

Damn, that sucks. That was one hell of a performance. I thought for sure it was something like turf toe. My brothers and I have been calling him Good Mike Hart all game.

NobodyHere 09-02-2021 10:38 PM

Dat targeting non-call though...

I have to agree with the announcers on that one. It should've been a penalty but w/o the player being thrown out of part of the next game.

sovereignstar v2 09-02-2021 10:40 PM

Different rules for different teams.

sovereignstar v2 09-02-2021 10:45 PM

I didn't think it was possible to hate Gus Johnson anymore than I already did. Totally unfair for the defender to miss a game for that while the receiver will be in concussion protocol.

jbergey22 09-02-2021 10:49 PM

Ibrahim is such a beast. That makes be sick. Can only hope its a calf muscle strain and not his achilles.

The Gophers secondary was the difference. Can't cover and can't tackle. I thought Morgan looked solid tonight.

And not even review it. BS

spleen1015 09-04-2021 02:16 PM

If Penn State's QB could hit a wide open receiver they'd be up 31-10.

cuervo72 09-04-2021 02:23 PM

Yeah, learn how to friggin lead a guy.

JonInMiddleGA 09-04-2021 02:29 PM

College football is definitely back.

The phrase "right call by rule, but a horrible rule" can now return to our vocabulary for several months.

Ksyrup 09-04-2021 02:34 PM

I know it was only ULM, but it was odd watching UK play with a QB who can throw the ball downfield. Levis and Robinson are going to be 2 impactful transfers this year. Glad to see Robinson back home. He went top HS about 15 miles from here but went to Nebraska and then got out of the sh!tshow to come back to Lexington.

JonInMiddleGA 09-04-2021 02:37 PM

Big 12 may get OU back after this.

Ksyrup 09-04-2021 02:40 PM

Good thing for them the portal is in full effect because they need to load up on D.

Maybe he meant the combined number of points was the shocking part

GrantDawg 09-04-2021 05:16 PM

These games have mostly been crap so far.

Ksyrup 09-04-2021 05:46 PM

Mike Leach...

Ksyrup 09-04-2021 05:49 PM

Apparently not photoshopped? C'mon, there's no way.

I am so afraid Georgia is going to lose because Duke's Mayo sucks. Yeah, that will be the reason.

Someone explain why college coaches play for 45+ yard FGs? I'd rather throw a pick trying to get into real makeable FG range than run the ball for 2 yards with 20 seconds left and run it down to call TO and take your chances from that far out.

JPhillips 09-04-2021 07:00 PM

I know there's a lot of season left, but damned if it doesn't look like Alabama and everyone else already.

Ksyrup 09-04-2021 07:51 PM

Kirby Smart coaches like he's a 20-point underdog trying to avoid being blown out, even though he has a blue chip roster.

JonInMiddleGA 09-04-2021 08:01 PM

Georgia Tech off to a rip roarin' start I see

Ksyrup 09-04-2021 08:02 PM

There is not enough money in the world to entice me to do this.

cuervo72 09-04-2021 08:07 PM

I like mayo, but I gotta at least have pickles. Or cheese sticks.

GrantDawg 09-04-2021 08:17 PM

Even if Georgia wins, I am still not eating Duke's Mayo.
