Under settings it shows heisman....

Julio Riddols 04-07-2017 10:40 PM

I have noticed that if I try to control the QB to move backwards immediately after the snap (when under center) the guard tends to just blow his block. Not sure if that is the same problem you're having.

Don't know why. I checked this morning before my game, and it is AA for all settings.

Julio Riddols 04-08-2017 10:40 PM

I should have my games in for both leagues tomorrow. Had to build a new screen for my projector this past week.

CU Tiger 04-12-2017 02:06 PM

Eaglesfan27 04-15-2017 09:38 AM

Boo for the bye :(

Kodos 04-16-2017 09:18 AM

Don't worry. It's not like my RB ran for 200+ yards and 10 touchdowns or anything.

Julio Riddols 04-17-2017 01:26 AM

Getting my games in in the morning. Pretty excited about it.

:(

On the plus side, we picked up several more commits this week.

Julio Riddols 04-18-2017 10:56 AM

Got our game in, our safety had 3 picks and we played pretty well, but I was disappointed in the defense. Ready to advance.

CU Tiger 04-18-2017 08:15 PM

Ill get mine in tomorrow

Kodos 04-22-2017 10:17 AM

We're on to Week 15. No games, but we all have recruiting to do.

Kodos 04-22-2017 10:58 AM

Indiana is done.

CU Tiger 04-22-2017 09:06 PM

I'll get mine in tonight.in fly out tomorrow am and will be out of the country until Thursday

CU Tiger 04-23-2017 07:25 AM

Good to go here.

Going to be an interesting offseason.
I have about 4 78+ QBs ready to commit and I might take them all just because 2 trigger pipeline states but arent mobile enough to run our offense.

Plus have a weird WR I hope to sign that we were 4500 back for 5 weeks ago , and the stated bonus points dont seem to indicate we shoud be able to catch up but we have rocketed to his favorite..

Eaglesfan27 04-23-2017 10:17 AM

I will get mine done tomorrow morning at the latest.

Julio Riddols 04-23-2017 07:48 PM

I'll get my recruiting done soon more than likely.

Eaglesfan27 04-24-2017 07:22 AM

USC is done recruiting... I also noticed a certain QB is in the lead for the Heisman ;)

Kodos 04-24-2017 07:31 AM

Done? You have 850 left, but I know you aren't using them all these days.

Ready to roll in San Antonio.

Kodos 04-25-2017 01:04 PM

Conference Championships - Deadline is 6/3 (Wed) at 11 p.m. DST

It's go time! #1 UTSA can't be happy about having to go on the road.

#1 UTSA (12-0) at #2 Florida Atlantic (12-0)
#4 USC (11-1) at #3 Indiana (12-0)

Kodos 04-25-2017 01:05 PM

EF - Either of the mornings this weekend would work best for me. How about you?

Eaglesfan27 04-25-2017 06:10 PM

I think I can do Saturday morning. Let me check with my wife to make sure she doesn't have any other plans for me. I will let you know by tomorrow.

Julio Riddols 04-26-2017 04:50 AM

When is a good time CU?

Eaglesfan27 04-26-2017 08:08 AM

Saturday morning is a go. I have to get wife and daughter going, so I can play anytime from 9 AM on.

Kodos 04-26-2017 09:02 AM

Let's aim for 9 a.m. then. (I have to take my daughter to gymnastics at 11.)

Sounds good.

Eaglesfan27 04-29-2017 08:01 AM

Having some technical difficulties but should be on in a minute or two.

Eaglesfan27 04-29-2017 09:17 AM

So frustrating. I can never stop Indiana's run game, but with an onside kick recovery I had a chance to win it in the end and Kodos made a good interception on a bad decision by me. Congrats.

Kodos 04-29-2017 09:30 AM

GG, EF. The Trojans came back from a 17-point second half deficit to trail 38-35 with 39 seconds left. A successful onside kick had them in position to pull off the comeback win, but senior cornerback Nick Thompson's clutch interception saved the day for the home crowd. Heisman hopeful Mark Roberts carried the ball 44 times for 240 yards and 3 TDs, while his rival Rob Bell went 10-16 for 140 yards, 2 TDs, and 3 interceptions. Bell also ran 10 times for 104 yards and 1 TD. What will the Heisman voters think after IU-USC round two?

Bowl Season - Deadline is 5/13 (Sat) at 11 p.m. DST

2023 Bowl Games

It's IU vs. UTSA IV! UTSA leads the series 2-1, but IU is the reigning champ. Can we make it back-to-back?

When is good for you, Julio? As usual, weekend mornings work best for me.

I think I can do Saturday or Sunday, what time you looking to start? I get off at 7 AM, so about 30 minutes after that I should be ready to go.

Regarding the game between CU and I, it was a battle plagued by lag, and I am fortunate in that lag generally doesn't have much of an effect on my passing game. I generally know where I am going with the ball before the snap, and it's all a matter of timing after that.. So I was able to get my offense to run fairly well.. CU was on the unfortunate end, and he may have had worse lag than I did because it eventually got him and we grabbed a couple interceptions to help us pull ahead to stay. My defense seemed to really get going after that and we ended up with a couple garbage scores to really blow it open.

We have resolved to play the next game in person with the winner treating the loser to some brews at the local watering hole. I think it will be a much more pleasant affair, and also quite a bit more competitive without the extraneous issues marring the competition. I'm looking forward to it.

CU Tiger 05-04-2017 08:23 AM

Yeah Julio had the better team and won no matter what.
But the game was far from enjoyable. I need to learn these pre-determined pass plays, every pass I have is a read, and I pass into "windows".

I have yet to find a fly route that I can throw, almost always they are crossing routes, quick outs and slants.

Speaking of which, would anyone be open to some candid play calling conversation? Im genuinely curious the longer I play this game, that I may be pigeon holing myself and missing half the game.

Personally, I have had a ton of success hitting fly routes. Where I have trouble is screens. I just don't have the timing on them down.

So specifically what do you think is important on fly routes?
Do you "lead" the WR by pushing up?
Lob vs bullet?

Etc.

I have a couple 95 spd WR they will have a few step lead on the DB.
If I lob it and lead the DB will run them down and INT or breakup the pass. If I bullet throw it the DB will turn around and INT it.

Kodos 05-04-2017 02:22 PM

I lob it.

I'm totally open to that. Love discussing strategy and trying to learn new things.

I can't throw a fly route to save my life either, it seems they all end up short and get swatted. Occasionally I'll get one out there and it'll seem to lead the receiver a bit and end up in a completion. I strongly suspect it is a timing thing and it helps if you can time it to where the throw comes out to that in between throw that isn't a lob or a bullet.

I like the slot routes where the guy starts like he is running a slant and then breaks it up and then out. I don't know what they're called for whatever reason.

These:

/
I
\

Hate option routes. Never feel safe on those. Don't know what to expect from the WR.

I like the angle routes too, for RB's and TE's mostly. They're usually good for an underneath completion and as long as the defense doesn't have the right coverage they're a real safe throw.

RB Screens I love, just roll to the side of the screen and throw as late as possible without getting sacked. Slants work real well against man, I've already talked before about the hook routes I'm pretty sure you all know I run those a decent amount.

The intermediate in routes I really like, and the corner routes are awesome for slot guys and tight ends.

Also love the tight end seam, though it is probably one of the most dangerous throws I make. I misread the LB drop on the TE side a lot, and sometimes the safety gets underneath the route and makes a play.

I hate comebacks, but I am trying to learn them. They're long developing routes though without a lot of payoff.

When it comes to deeper routes like the posts and double moves, I often throw them out of play action and I like to throw them shallow so the WR can get ahead of the defender underneath. Again, they require an extra tick or two to develop though, so the risk of waiting for a route like that is high. Throwing them shallow doesn't always work either, especially when the defender is in good position.

Almost all my throws take about a second for me to confirm after the snap, and they are usually based on the first couple steps of a player or two on the defense. Plays where a defender comes from a position I don't expect often fool me and I think its a flaw in my game but I'm not sure I wanna try to have more patience because I get sacked a lot when i do things like that.

The routes I could probably get better at are out routes, I never feel safe throwing them.
