CU Tiger 02-17-2016 07:11 PM

Replayed and won. Ran clock chew the whole game 21-16.
Only downside really is my coach leveled up in the game against JR bu did not this time. oh well. next week.

Eaglesfan27 02-17-2016 08:50 PM

Gilmore got hurt in the 3rd but the game was already in hand by that time. USC beats Buffalo 59-21. I believe we are all set to advance.

Oops, I think it was 59-28.

My thanks for not totally demolishing us.

Kodos 02-18-2016 07:22 AM

Ummmmm. The new result is not showing on the website. :(

It's apparent at how tough my team has it, high 80's still is poor against high 90's. I made a few dumb plays but you owned me.

My bright light was the return by Nash, other than that, you dominated us pure and simple.

Fortunately, it is showing in game for me. 21-16 win for FAU.

You had me scared that 1st quarter. It was back and forth early, but our defense played much better after the 1st quarter.

Alright. I was able to see CU's result in-game too, so we are advancing now. Thank god.

Grin! I can't wait to play that one. Fortunately, I'm off work tomorrow morning!

CU Tiger 02-18-2016 10:07 PM

It has the score from our live game....weird

Kodos 02-18-2016 10:37 PM

That was just me. :) In game, it has the replay score.

Eaglesfan27 02-19-2016 09:21 AM

The Good: Jimmy Stewart set the USC career reception mark this game.

The Bad: Gilmore threw 3 picks (1 my fault, 2 bad throws.)

The Good: Gilmore also threw for over 500 yards and rushed for over 100 yards and accounted for 7 TD's despite not playing most of the 4th quarter due to injury.

The Bad: Gilmore suffered another concussion. Is this going to be repetitive?

The Good: Our defense dominated UCLA for 3 quarters only allowing 3 points.

The Bad: They fell apart in the 4th (due to fatigue?) and allowed 21 points in the 4th.

The Good: Back up QB Kyle Davis had a very nice 4th quarter leading us to 4 TD's.

The Bad: Star WR Culver was injured on the 1st play (which I think accounted for some of our passing difficulties early) and missed the entire first half.

The Good: Despite only playing the 2nd half, Culver finished with 17 receptions for over 200 yards and 3 TD's.

The Bad: Our best TE had a few bad drops. So did Culver.

The Good: We forced 4 turnovers.

The best: We crushed UCLA 77-24 :D

Kodos 02-19-2016 09:37 AM

Nice recap. Maybe those picks open the door a bit for our QB Shuler to steal the Heisman.

I think so. I think too many picks drops a QB greatly in their algorithm.

Kodos 02-19-2016 10:09 AM

I've thrown quite a few dumb interceptions. I get into run up the score mode and bad things happen. "I can fit this in there, no problem!"

CU Tiger 02-19-2016 10:57 AM

17 catches in a half?

how the hell?

Ive never had that many catches in a game...

He is a beast. 97 speed, great acceleration, great route running, and great hands. I have at least 5 routes he can run very effectively.

CU Tiger 02-19-2016 11:29 AM

I get all that. But even at 10 ypc that likely 4 TD drives with EVERY play going to him and none of them breaking for yardage.

I need to play you sometime just to learn what route trees you run. The stats are always impressive but I have never learned to play this game any way to recreate them.

CU Tiger 02-19-2016 11:36 AM

My biggest regret so far is Shaun White has been the back bone of my team starting both ways for the last 3 years.

I signed a couple of stud FR WR so he has played sparingly this year.

But I need to get him more touches with his 99 sped 95 acc and 90+ hands

I actually had about 10 other passes to other guys in the 2nd half. I ran over 60 pass plays using no huddle most of the time.

CU Tiger 02-19-2016 12:01 PM

Im amazed. good work sir.

Kodos 02-19-2016 12:05 PM

Lately, the computer seems intent on stopping my run game, which has left the passing game wide open. Had my first 100-yard pass the other day. Was pretty sweet. :) I had botched a punt return (CPU pulled my guy off of the return, then I went back to get the ball and got tackled on the 1). Then I had a false start to set me up at the half-yard mark.

Spencer White wants you to know that he's not a snowboarder.

CU Tiger 02-19-2016 01:05 PM

Ha...

Yeah my bad Spence.
He is a freak ATH who came in the last season on the old game and we have enjoyed him immensely. I just looked up and realized he had been a touch forgotten this year.

Side note, does anyone have much success with GO routes against the CPU?

Doesnt seem to matter how bad I have them beat SUPER CB will fly in to break up a play or intercept it.

Kodos 02-19-2016 01:21 PM

Maybe your QB doesn't have good strength or throw power? Go routes work pretty well, especially in the slot.

Eaglesfan27 02-19-2016 01:32 PM

I only throw Go routes if I am desperate or the safeties are blitzing/significantly cheating up.

Eaglesfan27 02-19-2016 01:34 PM

Dola - 1 of Gilmore's picks was due to an under thrown go route where the reliever had a few steps on the corner but the bad throw allowed him to pick it off.

CU Tiger 02-19-2016 02:35 PM

my QB is an 84 power 94 accuracy so not 99/99 but not shabby either.

I can hit slot receivers on GOs. Or really most any WR IF i can lead him towards the middle and let him run to it.

What I am continually frustrated by is I can ahve a 5-7 yard cushion and be pulling away and throw it, lead the WR deep bullet or lob doesnt matter and the CB will always (99.99%) superman up at full speed run and break it up or pick it off.

Now if its a blitz yes I can get them.

But otherwise its slants, crosses, outs, Posts, and corners.

I have a couple of tunnel and bubble screens that work great as well that I have found but for whatever reason I cant add them to my playbook. Add the formation and those plays arent there. I think it is a factor of base offense.

CU Tiger 02-20-2016 10:02 AM

We handled aTm. We were trying to feature Handy our fr to see if I could get 17 catches. He was knocked out early with a concusion. That led to more reps for Spencer White. We got the W

MacroGuru 02-20-2016 08:29 PM

Michigan took us to the wire. We won 35-28, my starting QB went out at the start of the 3rd qtr.

We secured the win with an INT in the end zone with 10 secs left.

Eaglesfan27 03-02-2016 09:51 AM

I just looked. It appears all teams are set to advance.

Kodos 03-02-2016 10:21 AM

Okay. Last I looked, Julio still had to play.

Boston College (2-5) at #11 Buffalo (6-1)

Bye: #8 UTSA

Julio Riddols 03-02-2016 11:30 AM

I got my game in last night against Duke.. They gave me total hell the whole game. I was down 42-31 with about 4 minutes left but scored a go ahead TD with 2 seconds on the clock and no time outs. They were just brutal to try and move the ball against in the first half.

Kodos 03-02-2016 11:32 AM

Yep. Chesapeake built a tough squad.

Eaglesfan27 03-02-2016 12:51 PM

Dropped to number 9. :(

Kodos 03-02-2016 01:38 PM

The voters don't like stat-whores (says the guy who is chasing you for the Heisman).

LOL!

My stat whoring may have backfired on me this game. We took care of Stanford 70-14. We played a nearly perfect first half and took a 42-0 lead. I held them to under 50 yards for the half. But, in the 2nd half trying to rack up yards, I threw 2 silly picks trying to make plays and Gilmore had 3 for the game. On the plus side, he did have 600 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 9 total TD's. Guilty as charged.

In recruiting news, we did sign a top kicker and a very good DT this week. :)

Eaglesfan27 03-02-2016 02:25 PM

Speaking of stats: Gilmore is currently #1 in passing yards with a margin of 1200 yards over the #2 guy and is also #4 in the NCAA in rushing yards.

Kodos 03-02-2016 03:19 PM

Stat-whoring does lead to poor decisions. I can attest to that.

Julio Riddols 03-02-2016 08:04 PM

It cost me a game once.

See I recruiting bonus point whore not stat whore.
No one gets more than 3 rushing TDs or 4 passing or receiving TDs. And we hit those marks every game. That equals about 400 extra coach points per game.

Now 1 heisman offsets a lot of that but...

Kodos 03-06-2016 07:51 AM

Looks like we'll be ready to roll once Julio gets his recruiting done.

CU Tiger 03-06-2016 11:04 AM

Man we won but it was a struggle the entire way.

Kodos 03-06-2016 11:52 AM

Yeah, Penn State gave me more of a fight than I was expecting.

Julio Riddols 03-06-2016 10:39 PM

Finished my recruiting, sorry for the hold up. I have been migrating my video game consoles and accessories into my new game room.. And now I have the grand daddy screen of my dreams to play on. I'm stoked to see how much immersion this adds to my gridiron experience.

MacroGuru 03-07-2016 07:56 AM

We destroyed Boston College...I didn't let up on them.

Had to get some frustrations out.

Boy, BC just can't catch a break.
