NIU just got jobbed hard on that spot.

Kodos 09-07-2024 05:48 PM

EA Sports is vindicated! NIU wins!

RainMaker 09-07-2024 05:56 PM

Besides the 31 seconds, was Notre Dame also gifted a timeout at the end? Why wasn't the clock started after the video review?

Lathum 09-07-2024 06:06 PM

Iowa deserves to lose this game. throw the ball on 3rd and 8 to end the game.

sovereignstar v2 09-07-2024 06:14 PM

Iowa deserves to lose every game

Kodos 09-07-2024 06:39 PM

Hey, where’s Tarcone? I hope he’s doing better.

cuervo72 09-07-2024 06:56 PM

I’m not sure Colt McCoy has a voice for TV.

Thomkal 09-07-2024 09:45 PM

Coastal Carolina led from start to finish against FCS school William and Mary in their home debut winning 40-21. They travel to Temple for their next game

Kodos 09-07-2024 10:00 PM

Wade Moore must be ticked.

JonInMiddleGA 09-07-2024 10:04 PM

Bama did that "flip the switch" thing I guess.

Dogshit for 3 quarters, then score 4 TDs in under 9 minutes.

JonInMiddleGA 09-07-2024 10:21 PM

Vols defense played like NCSU owed 'em money.

HerRealName 09-08-2024 11:52 AM

JJ Smith is so impressive there's a legitimate conversation among the OSU beat on whether he's better than Marv Harrison Jr already. He's a total freak.

Edward64 09-08-2024 03:49 PM

AP rankings are out.

6 of top 7 are SEC teams. Kinda weird, won't last.

In other shocking news

Quote:

Another Georgia football player was arrested Thursday night on a reckless driving charge.

Cornerback Daniel Harris was stopped on the Georgia 10 loop at College Station Road, driving a 2018 Jeep Cherokee at 106 miles per hour ― 41 miles over the speed limit ― while passing two other vehicles on a wet road in the rain at 8:03 p.m., according to an incident report obtained by the Athens Banner-Herald.

... Georgia has had at least 30 arrests or citations for speeding, reckless driving or racing since the crash that killed offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy on Jan. 15, 2023.

Feels like Oregon is too high considering they've struggled against an FCS school and Boise. Miami is too low considering how dominant they've looked and the talent they have.

Michigan seems a little high considering they got trounced at home. And I don't know how they can put Notre Dame ahead of Northern Illinois when NIU just beat them at home.

Edward64 09-14-2024 07:58 AM

So, the marquee game today is #24 Boston College vs #6 Missouri? Somewhat underwhelming weekend of college ball

... but then I am jealous of the Tigers' progress

No silly Edward, it's Coastal Carolina at Temple. :)

Bama at Wisconsin. It is weird they keep putting these big games at noon.

Well it's a Fox game and with their options today it doesn't seem so bad a choice. They couldn't really move Oregon/Oregon State to 12n, and the Ducks are on Fox in primetime twice in the next four weeks already. If they put UCF-TCU on at noon it gets probably gets killed by LSU-SC and would have drawn away from NTSU-TT on FS1. And with Texas-UTSA playing tonight the 7p slot probably wasn't drawing much anyway so UCF-TCU is kind of a sacrificial lamb no matter where they put it.

It's kind of strategic but I can see the logic in it.

Yeah, it's feeling like a weird feature in this new conference re-alignment and the new TV contracts. There was usually a good Big Ten or a good Big 12 game at noon on some Saturdays in the past, but these first few weeks there seems to be multiple nationally interesting games coming on in the early slot. Heck, either of LSU-SC or Bama-Wisconsin would have felt like a 3:30 game in the past, and they are both noon games.

sovereignstar v2 09-14-2024 01:43 PM

If kids jumping up and down in Wisconsin doesn't give you goosebumps I don't know what will

Edward64 09-14-2024 02:22 PM

Memphis up by 8.

FSU will get ball back with about a minute left. What a collapse this season

bob 09-14-2024 02:32 PM

So FSU has one more game before their players have to decide if theyre sitting out the season to preserve eligibility and transfer… and nothing about watching FSU makes me think their players wont do that

Ghost Econ 09-14-2024 02:40 PM

These refs are so atrocious in USC-LSU and they are specifically being terrible in one direction.

Edward64 09-14-2024 03:18 PM

And LSU survives a close one

Edward64 09-14-2024 03:32 PM

Hogs are playing against UAB … coached by Trent Dilfer

Good to see him doing well

EDIT: UAB is embarrassing the Hogs, leading 17-3 in early 2Q. Offense & Defense can't get going

EDIT2: We're back baby! Hogs tie it up 17-17 with 5 min left in 1H.

Coastal led the whole way but nearly let Temple back in at the end winning 28-20. They don't seem to have too much of a passing game this season, which is worrisome.

next week i think the first ever team from the ACC, Virginia, visits Conway. This one should tell us how good or bad we are.

bob 09-14-2024 04:25 PM

Purdue must be absolutely terrible

bronconick 09-14-2024 04:46 PM

Or NIU might be the G5 Cinderella to sneak into the playoff. Notre Dame pushed around A&M and Purdue on the LOS but got pushed around by NIU.

cubboyroy1826 09-14-2024 04:59 PM

I think the experienced NIU Dline and the inexperienced Notre Dame Oline had a lot to do with that too.

cuervo72 09-14-2024 05:37 PM

Eh I’m going with terrible.

GrantDawg 09-14-2024 06:19 PM

Is Florida the SEC new Vandy?

Edward64 09-14-2024 06:26 PM

UAB just scored, our tackling has been atrocious.

Hogs up 30-27 with 7 min left. And yes, I’m worried the Hogs will choke again.

EDIT: happy with the win but our defense sucks. 3 facemasks, couldn’t stop the run etc.

Ghost Econ 09-14-2024 06:43 PM

Does Napier make it to Monday?

There's nothing wrong with being a very good coach at a mid major level, but he clearly not an SEC level coach right now.

Transfer to where? Memphis?

I kept catching bit and pieces of this game throughout the day and watch the same amount of the other FSU games this season. Has this FSU team been tested for long COVID? At least that would somewhat explain why they keep looking like they are being physically outmatched on both sides of the ball especially offensively. DJ Uiagalelei has looked like he just transferred in the day before the game... in every game this season. The O-line is just terrible.

Bring back Wil--- ok that is a bit too far but even he was able to get the team a victory in the first three games of a season. Norvell has started 0-3 twice now.

Atocep 09-14-2024 07:04 PM

Today put a fork in the Neal Brown era at WVU. Good riddance. It would be difficult to make a hire as bad as him. An offensive coach with bad offenses that's been horribly developing talent and hiring assistants.

DJU is just not a good player. He showed at Clemson and has really never grown. Many guys that look bad as underclassmen can grow and shine after a couple of years. But he is just still awful.

Edward64 09-14-2024 07:11 PM

I’m getting dizzy watching the cameras work in the GA-KY game. It’s like Madden. Zoom in and out, rotating views … just all over the place. Noticeably different from the AR-UAB game I just watched.

Is it just me?

cuervo72 09-14-2024 08:24 PM

What are the Vols getting out of this?

Not really, but I am getting sick watching Georgia's offense looking lifeless.

HerRealName 09-14-2024 08:29 PM

The officiating in this Georgia game would be malpractice if it didn't feel like they're just following SEC guidelines. They're very fortunate not to be down at least 10.

A snuff film.

Someone, who I will not identify to protect the guilty asked if it was too soon to call this the Kent State Massacre.

He's made Jonathan Smith look like the greatest coach of all time for making Oregon State look decent with DJU last season.

Edward64 09-14-2024 09:35 PM

Dawgs finally waking up.

Kodos 09-14-2024 09:51 PM

I’m liking the Cignetti era so far. IU actually seems to be pretty good.

GrantDawg 09-14-2024 10:27 PM

Georgia is lucky to get out of that alive, but if the offense plays like that against Texas and Alabama, they are going to get destroyed.

They're used to it. It's just a tune-up for their visit to Happy Valley next week. And they only lost at Pitt by 31 a couple of weeks ago.

This month's tour is funding the sports department for rest of the school year.
Seems they should have a football team appreciation week up in Kent.

I should suggest easier treatment of players to my wife this month, but I think the classes she's teaching on the Kent campus are all grad-level this term.

Lathum 09-14-2024 11:16 PM

welp...

Huskies lose the Apple Cup. Totally undisciplined effort. This is going to be a long year.

I think GA offense (and defense somewhat) just got caught taking KY for granted. A bye week and then the Tide, should be a good one.

Hogs Taylen Green was great in running but he regressed in passing. RB Jackson has close to 400 yards in 2.5 games. Our defense was atrocious, they need to be better for Auburn next week.

Petrino is living up to his billing as an OC wunderkid. Fans are still predicting a losing season but, just as long as we show progression every year, I'm glad he's back
