What's interesting about this series is while it has been very compelling as a whole, only one game (3) has been interesting to watch. The average margin of victory has been 6 runs and I have only watched one game past the 6th inning. I'm hopeful tonight is more like game 3 than games 4, 5 or 6.

All the guys the Giants wanted to save they did. They didn't use a single key reliever and they pulled Petit after one inning. Non-factor going into tonight.

Saw that in the last 9 Game 7 WS games, the home team is 9-0. We do NOT want to be the one to break that streak.

You can see the disappointment in the Giants players right now. They really wanted to wrap this up tonight.

Especially since it'll likely be another thirty years before the Royals make it back!

We're now officially a dynasty. No worries.

Karlifornia 10-29-2014 12:21 PM

Really, Sun? Shitting on Bochy? After all this?

I'd say the bigger blunder was starting Volquez in a one game playoff.

Mizzou B-ball fan 10-29-2014 04:25 PM

This town has just shut down over the past couple of days. Had two things cancelled last night and my daughter's gymnastic gym also shut down for the day. Everyone's focused on these games. It's just nuts. It's going to be weird going back to a sense of normalcy after the excitement of this past month for this city.

Good news is that Mizzou's first basketball pre-season game is tonight. Thanks to the Royals, there's not much down time between my two favorite sports!!!!!!

Cubs about to hire Maddon.

Supposedly just waiting until game 7 is over to announce.

That sucks for Renteria, especially since the Cubs were showing some progress. Though big time hires like these seem to seldom work out.

Coffee Warlord 10-29-2014 05:48 PM

Maddon's agent and the Cubs are both denying a deal is in place.

sterlingice 10-29-2014 06:59 PM

Definitely nervous, unlike the last two

The only reason to ever take a managerial job with a losing club that isn't expecting to immediately contend is for resume purposes if it's a large market club, or if the club is small/medium market (and thus unlikely to splash the cash on a "name" to replace you once they're ready to win).

Lathum 10-29-2014 07:35 PM

Giants get a few early runs this could be lights out with Baumgartner looming.

kingfc22 10-29-2014 07:36 PM

Come on big hit...

kingfc22 10-29-2014 07:39 PM

Or solid baseball. Sac Fly. Sac Fly.

Lathum 10-29-2014 07:41 PM

Will be curious to see if the Royals start pressing.

But overall there have been 36 World Series game 7's and it's 18-18. So it's still a crapshoot.

Karlifornia 10-29-2014 07:52 PM

Come on, double play

kingfc22 10-29-2014 07:52 PM

More Sac Flys.

BillJasper 10-29-2014 07:54 PM

Wonder if the Bumgartner (sp?) talk got into Hudson's head?

Sun Tzu 10-29-2014 07:58 PM

What a disgustingly mismanaged series for Bochy. Unlike 2010 and 2012, if the Giants pull this thing out it will be in spite of their hard-headed manager.

Travis Ishikawa has been a disaster in LF, and Bumgarner not starting games 4 and 7 is absolutely unforgivable.

sterlingice 10-29-2014 08:03 PM

I think all teams hate their managers. On the RR thread, there's a guy talking about how stupid it was that Ventura didn't come out after 7-0 because he could have pitched tonight.

kingfc22 10-29-2014 08:14 PM

That's a DP, but I'm bias. :D

Do think they got him by a fraction.

Looks that way.

Go ROYALs Go Go!!

kingfc22 10-29-2014 08:17 PM

Incredible double play turn by Panik and Crawford.

EagleFan 10-29-2014 08:21 PM

Why do some players still dive in to first base? If he runs through that he is safe.

kingfc22 10-29-2014 08:46 PM

And MadBum begins to warm up...

EagleFan 10-29-2014 08:53 PM

I think they make an ointment for that, should stop the burning you feel as it warms up...

sterlingice 10-29-2014 08:56 PM

I want to see what he has after 117 the other night. I'm irrationally confident about him getting hit and Bochy leaving him in too long

I feel exactly the opposite.

I hope you are right. I really, really hope you are right.

kingfc22 10-29-2014 09:25 PM

Likely to see Bumgarner for one more inning then Romo/Lopez.

Lathum 10-29-2014 09:27 PM

I don't think the Royals are going to touch the Giants pitching from this point on.

kingfc22 10-29-2014 09:28 PM

An insurance run would sure be nice.

MizzouRah 10-29-2014 09:33 PM

Bumgarner is a gamer.. damn.

Same can be said the other way around.

Agreed. Why do people insist on doing this to these songs?

kingfc22 10-29-2014 09:44 PM

Keep him in

ISiddiqui 10-29-2014 09:54 PM

Joe Buck is seriously just trying to jinx Bumgarner.

miami_fan 10-29-2014 09:56 PM

Escobar gets a hit here, right? Like he would have during his first AB against MadBum?

kingfc22 10-29-2014 09:57 PM

No RH PH here for Aoki?

Aoki basically has no splits- pretty equal against righties and lefties. Tho Willingham would have been good

cartman 10-29-2014 10:02 PM

Gotta leave Bumgarner in there for the 9th, at least until he allows a baserunner.

Yes.

And please score an insurance run.

Karlifornia 10-29-2014 10:08 PM

If he finishes this I will lose my mind...in a good way.

Abe Sargent 10-29-2014 10:11 PM

Well, here we go

Abe Sargent 10-29-2014 10:18 PM

Wow how do you allow those errors tehre?
