Gah. Only for the 360. PS3 is $59.99. Ever since I went with the PS3, I haven't had a dirty disc error.

I enjoyed it. If you're looking for a true action game or a shooter then Alan Wake isn't for you. If survival horror with a mix of action and some gunplay sounds interesting then it's definitely a game you should check out.

Completely off-topic, but I chuckled at "M$". Haven't seen that in awhile. It's actually pretty funny to see how things are now, with Apple basically doing all the things that used to make people hate Microsoft, while Windows has gotten to the point now where I don't "tolerate" it, but actually think it's pretty excellent.

PilotMan 05-10-2012 06:47 AM

GamersGate has a sale on Batman games this weekend.

Arkham Asylum $4.99
Arkham City $11.98

I have both a MacBook Pro and a Win 7 laptop, and I much prefer using Win 7. The hardware on the Mac is pretty sweet, although it seems like PC manufacturers might finally be getting some products that are at least in the same ballpark in that regard.

Mizzou B-ball fan 05-10-2012 10:16 AM

Looks like a Wolfenstein 3D week. iPhone app was free yesterday. The PC version on Steam is $1.24 today on the daily deal.

My wife's Macbook is 5 years old and on its last legs. She is resigned to the fact that a PC laptop at this point is a better option since her job uses Microsoft based software and a Mac is so much damn more expensive. I don't have anything against Macs, they are great for some things and not so much for others. Each fits a niche in the market (Mac = graphics/design/etc. while PC = productivity/office/etc.). However, we can get a new laptop for half the price of a new Mac and at the end of the day the difference in actual productivity and usefulness is very small. I can't help but feel that Macs are going more and more the "elitist" route....

Groundhog 05-10-2012 06:08 PM

I had a macbook for a few years and, although I loved it at the time, I can't see myself going with an apple desktop or notebook any time soon. Price is certainly a factor, but there's just so many apps/games I use that are PC only, and with how solid I find windows 7, I just don't see the point in paying more for something I personally can do less on.

yeah it isn't really Survival Horror. It's more horror themed action- adventure which very obften undermines the horror really. Some creepy cutscenes and all but not really SH

Dutch 05-15-2012 08:18 PM

Fair enough, I picked up on sale and I'll give it a go one day when I have some time. Thx.

dunkem 05-17-2012 02:54 PM

Amazon having a sale right now. Bioshock 1 & 2 bundle $7.50, Mafia 1 $2.49 (Mafia 2 not listed on sale list, but only $7.50), Divinity II $5.99 all activateable on Steam I think.

Other games too, but sometimes no matter what the price, I don't want to download/install via Amazon's slow servers.

Also make sure to avoid any spoilers. There's one part of the game where there is something completely fantastic that I am glad I wasn't aware of but I think is ruined in a trailer.

MizzouRah 05-26-2012 07:51 PM

Yeah, Saints Row the 3rd is quite an excellent game.

Gamestop (Impulse) has this for $16.99 today if you want a different download platform.

Alright, so I guess I'll push this up in the rotation. I did just snag the key and load it into steam for download...which is a pretty sweet little gig. Double the sales events!

Yellow5 05-27-2012 02:04 PM

Amazon.com: Plentiful Paradox Package [Download]: Video Games

Plentiful Paradox Package - $12.49

Crusaders II
Magicka Collection
Magicka: The Stars are Left DLC
Sword of the Starts II Lords of winter
Sword of the Stars Complete Collection
Victoria II

That is a crap ton of gaming for $12 and some change.

PineTar 05-27-2012 03:11 PM

yes yes

Wolfpack 05-27-2012 11:11 PM

That's pretty tempting. I'm really only interested in CK2 and Victoria 2, though I've read Magicka's got a bit of fun to it. Never really heard of Sword of the Stars, though. I'm seeing a lot of reviews about SOS2 being awful (or at least woefully buggy at release).

Even so, I've got so many Steam pickups that I have yet to play that I just don't need more games right now (I bought Portals 2 back at Christmas and am just now getting around to playing it), so I may leave this one on the table and see if Steam comes up with something similar during the summer sale they have.

EagleFan 05-27-2012 11:34 PM

D*** you. Not even sure when I will be able to play these games but for that price they have to go into my library.

Antmeister 05-28-2012 02:11 PM

So.....pay $6 or more and get all of these games (most can be activated in Steam, the rest are DRM free):
  • Making History: The Calm & the Storm
  • Beat Hazard
  • Razor2: Hidden Skies
  • Ironclads Collection( 5 Games )
  • Space Empires 4 Deluxe
  • Battle Mages
  • World Rally Championship Racing
  • Bad Rats: Rats Revenge
  • Disciples II: Rise of the Elves
  • Puzzle Kingdoms
  • Ninja Blade
Helluva deal right there. All of this from Indie Gala.

Well I looked over their list. While I skimmed over their 5 pages, I believe there are two that match this list and that is Space Empires 4 (which is not the deluxe version) and Puzzle Kingdoms.

Sword of the Stars is tough and excellent. One of my most played games. Really a shame about the second one. It was a complete mess when released and the developer was a jerk about the entire situation. I have no idea what state the game is in at this point.

Hmm, I thought I saw Disciples II and Battle Mages on there, too, but I was just looking over my co-workers shoulder as I don't have an account myself. My bad.

Looks like if you get this plentiful bundle, you also get two $23 credits to be used for towards Hearts of Iron III Collection and Europa Universalis III chronicles which are selling for $29.99 each .. so $6.99 each after credits. Some people probably have these older games, but if you don't, pretty good deal with expansions. Could even wait a while since credits are good through 7/2 in case the HOI 3 and EU 3 come down with a sale later.

Whole lot of strategy games like Yellow said.
