What's the difference between EUIV and the Extreme Edition?

Grover 06-19-2015 02:44 PM

It looks like the price point and that's it... weird

This might explain the difference.

Europa Universalis IV Digital Extreme Edition - Buy and download on GamersGate

In other words you get some extra content.

NobodyHere 06-19-2015 03:30 PM

dola,

The Extreme edition upgrade pack is only $1.99, so if you are interested it might be worth it to buy it seperately.

PilotMan 06-19-2015 03:31 PM

This might be my most low key summer sale ever. The only thing I've added is This War of Mine. I blame most of it on a busy work schedule and already having over 500 games. Maybe I'm just hitting the gaming wall?

This War of Mine is awesome, but very.... somber/depressing

I feel ya. I got a good sized back log myself and currently I find myself digging into sandbox games that you can't really finish (Civ 5, Cities Skylines) or just replaying games that I've beaten several times before (like Tie Fighter). So my back log just keeps growing.

This has been my problem. I'm so into EUIV/CK2 with their replayability that I have this massive backlog that I feel like I'll never get into.

spleen1015 06-19-2015 05:23 PM

I have never done much with these cards on Steam.

I need 3 to complete the Summer Sale 2015 set.

I need:
Blitzkrieg
Z-Lo
Gold Helm

I have extras of:
Bob
Crusta-Sean
Dansky
Dire Frog

I am spleen1015 on Steam. Hit me with a trade if your interested.

whomario 06-19-2015 06:02 PM

Other than the El Dorado DLC for EUIV i havenīt bought anything yet, though iīm poised to buy at least This War of Mine (just gonna wait till the last day, just in case it gets a further discount). Have played it at a friend and this is just an incredible experience.

Not going to be having any meaningful time to play until september due to workload at university, so i am not too eager to spent money i donīt really have to spare anyway ;) Plus i still have some games i bought ages ago and still have hardly played or not at all (for example i still want to sink my teeth into Endless Space and have the Witcher 2 to play). And thats not counting stuff like FM15, EUIV and CKII where i know i will come back to for another round or 3.

SackAttack 06-19-2015 08:55 PM

I picked up Hero Generations. Really enjoying it so far.

Groundhog 06-19-2015 09:37 PM

Did Rockstar really pump up the price of GTA V right before the Steam sale, to make it look like you are getting a 25% off sale price, when you are in fact paying the pre-sale price? Sheesh.

Wolfenstein did that. Rockstar just removed GTA5 altogether and put the GTA bundle, which includes GTA5, on sale for $60.

They didn't remove it. It is still there for full price. What they did was create a bundle for the sale for basically full price but you get some in game currency to sort of make it look like it is a deal.

I call that Kohl's marketing

jeff061 06-19-2015 10:43 PM

My understanding is they removed it initially and added it back a day or 2 later.

Edward64 06-20-2015 06:21 AM

Sid Meier's Pirates (2006) for $2.49. I have the original disk somewhere but think I'll buy this for nostalgia.

EagleFan 06-20-2015 01:26 PM

Looks like Steam is down.

EagleFan 06-20-2015 01:27 PM

Or just coming back up.

Grover 06-20-2015 05:30 PM

Just finished off my purchases with Transistor and Grow Home

thesloppy 06-20-2015 06:10 PM

For about 2 1/2 days I thought Windward was the funnest thing ever. It's like Pirate's with Diablo loot. I haven't had the slightest urge to go back to it, though.

I have a Z-Lo you can have. I'm motoole00, sent you a friend request.

Dutch 06-20-2015 10:00 PM

What happens if you complete the set?

A great sense of accomplishment and some nerd points.

Qrusher14242 06-20-2015 11:34 PM

I think i'm done for steam sale. Here's the damage:

Van Helsing 2 Complete Pack - $6
Tesla Effect: Tex Murphy Adventure - $5
Outcast 1.1 - $4
Football Manager 2015 - $17
The Walking Dead Season 2 - $6
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky $10
Pillars of Eternity - Hero Edition - $22 (Gamesplanet)
Hero Siege: The Karp of Doom + The Depths of Hell DLC - $4
Half Minute Hero : The Second Coming(Comes with First one) - $3

Total Spent: $77

The Pillars of Eternity Deal is still live https://uk.gamesplanet.com/game/pill...dition--2709-1

They give you a Steam key and it worked for me in the US.

So far been playing Outcast 1.1 the most. Used to love that game and to be able to play it high res with a controller is amazing.

Ironhead 06-20-2015 11:51 PM

My damage during the sale:

Witcher 1 = $2
Witcher 2 = $3
This War of Mine = $8
Wolfenstein: The New Order = $15
Shadow of Mordor = $25
Cities Skylines = $20
Fallout 3 GOTY = $7
Batman: Arkham Knight = $36 (Greenmangaming)

Total = $116

More than I thought but should keep me covered until the winter sale.

Groundhog 06-21-2015 12:55 AM

So far I've just grabbed Arma 3, but South Park is awfully close... been on my wishlist for a long time.

dubb93 06-21-2015 01:33 AM

Not a single game this time. My backlog is enormous and my videogame time greatly decreased. I'm still in act 1 of The Witcher 3.

Edward64 06-21-2015 06:03 AM

I bought

1) Dead State
2) Sid Meier's Pirates
3) Assassin's Creed IV

Assassin's Creed is not typically something I would play but thought I would check it out with its Pirates them.

Any pirates fans out there and what do you play? Anything that matches up to Sid's?

MrBug708 06-21-2015 08:44 AM

I loved Assassin's Creed IV

I have extra Gold Helms and Blitzkriegs. I just need Dansky to complete my set. i've (dangamer33) added you as a friend

Thomkal 06-21-2015 09:44 AM

Could have bought a lot of stuff from this sale, but money is tight so I just managed FOF7 (cause I promised Jim I'd buy it when it was on sale :) )

IlliniCub 06-21-2015 09:55 AM

Has anyone tried Basketball Pro Management series on steam? Just kind of wondering how it is and how it compares to Fast Break if at all. It looks like it has a 2d game view.

whomario 06-21-2015 10:27 AM

Have only read on it and all i am reading suggests that this is not a very good game, much less so if your main interest is the NBA.

Get Draft Day Sports Pro Basketball by Wolverine if you are looking for a more graphically oriented game compared to Fast Break. Have not played the newest one (no time, no money, happy with the old version) but have played DDSPB 1 - 3 extensively and enjoyed them very much.
It is also on sale and recently updated and while still a higher price tag than Basketball Pro Management, i am pretty sure its a much better purchase.

It's terrible. I got it for free and didn't think I got my money's worth.

IlliniCub 06-21-2015 11:25 AM

Thanks! I figured that was probably the case!

EagleFan 06-21-2015 11:32 AM

If anyone needs Dominic or Dire Frog let me know.

BYU 14 06-21-2015 02:06 PM

Aw hell guys, should I just cave and get FM15 for 17 bucks?

stevew 06-21-2015 04:38 PM

YCredit card was being a bastard when I was down to the wire on buying new Vegas. Luckily got it in @last minute. Also how is Prison Architect and does it start race wars, etc

It's really, really bad. Perfect example of trying to do too much and having everything come off either unfinished or badly implemented. The 2D engine is laughable, and the game doesn't include any actual shooting fouls.

bob 06-21-2015 06:46 PM

Has anyone played This War of Mine? Assuming I can only get one, should I pick up that or Wasteland 2?

Groundhog 06-21-2015 06:56 PM

This War of Mine is definitely worth grabbing, really interesting game - I would stop short of calling it "fun" because of how intense the experience gets when you are desperate for supplies. I haven't been able to start it up again after a particularly grueling experience where I lasted way longer than I ever had before.

Ok, missed that others have played this war of mine... So which one should I get?

Groundhog 06-21-2015 07:12 PM

Wasteland 2 didn't grab me, and I usually love those type of games. This War of Mine would get my vote.

bob 06-21-2015 07:25 PM

Thanks... I was leaning this way anyways, especially since wasteland 2 will fall even further in price in another year or so.

frnk55 06-21-2015 07:53 PM

Never heard of This war of mine. But thanks to you people I now have another game in my backlog. :)

FWIW - I got it during the sale and enjoyed it. 1st playthrough of the game took about 12 hours. It is a game that I could see playing through again as there are definitely a few different approaches to how you go about surviving (i.e. I was peaceful during my playthrough but I think that a more aggressive playthrough would feel very different).

Groundhog 06-21-2015 09:00 PM

It's marks the one game where I've sat there at my keyboard weighing up whether to beat an old man to death because he might have bandages or medication in his bathroom.

bob 06-21-2015 09:25 PM

Is this a traditional game with start and end, or do you just try to last as long as possible ala Don't Starve?
