I'd highly recommend using a controller for both games.

GOG.com has all the bundles from their Winter Sale available today if you want to catch the ones you missed. That includes a new one: Turn-based 4X Classics:

Alpha Centauri, Masters of Orion 1 & 2, Colonization, Fragile Allegiance, Galactic Civilizations, and Space Empires IV for $10.99

Edit: Witcher 2 is 75% off for 4.99

gstelmack 12-18-2013 10:07 AM

Just Cause 2 is $3 on Steam, in part because of the release of the Just Cause 2 multiplayer mod. That's a ton of fun - no real point, just lots of multiplayer mayhem, which frankly fits the game nicely...

Nice - I always wanted this game. $3 is well below my buy-in price. Will have to grab it.

Amazon.com: Sid Meier's Civil War Collection - PC: Software

179.95 and not able to run on anything past Windows ME?

Give me two, please!

Seriously, these seem like perfect fits for GOG, or at least what GOG was originally.

Yeah you would think so-maybe there's some legal issues over it that we don't know about because they would sell well on GOG

Amazon.com: Metal Gear Rising: Vengeance [Online Game Code]: Video Games

Preorder of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for $19.99.

Vince, Pt. II 12-19-2013 11:46 AM

Revengeance (which my phone auto-corrects to revenge acne, awesome) is so dumb a name it has completely passed the spectrum and become awesome again.

mckerney 12-19-2013 12:01 PM

When I first heard the title I was hoping it was about Brandenburg v. Ohio, but a Metal Gear game by Platinum is pretty awesome too.

Forgive me if this has already been posted. [I lurk in this thread constantly and do not remember seeing it referenced.]

I stumbled across CheapShark - Digital Game Deals, Compare PC game prices on Steam, Amazon, Gamer's Gate, and more! yesterday. For those who do not know, it displays the top deals in all the sites mentioned here, and is also searchable by game. Nice, clean interface and pretty stinkin' handy.

PilotMan 12-20-2013 08:47 AM

That's nice, but now I can't spend the day going back and forth between everything checking prices.

awesome find

Thanks!

boberot 12-20-2013 09:08 AM

Upon further review, Cheap Shark actually allows you to browse games by price, % of savings, its own "deal rating" scale, and metacritic score. Really slick.

DaddyTorgo 12-20-2013 09:19 AM

Nice!

Yeah, what the hell is this? Am I actually supposed to do work today in the time this site will save me? That's bullshit.

CAsterling 12-20-2013 02:47 PM

Brilliant site....of course now my problem is that I have found 20+ games cheap on steam that I want to try by using that site.

Now I have to find time to download and play them all......curses :)

Amazon.com: Bill Lee Out Of The Park Baseball [Download]: Video Games

I know what it is, just never heard of this "version".

NobodyHere 12-25-2013 05:44 PM

Amazon has Lego Marvel for $12.

How did this game drop so fast in price? It's pretty new and has good reviews.

There's also a huge SEGA Genesis Pack for $5 that I'm tempted to buy.

Fantastic lineup of free games for PS+ in January. Not sure how much they're paying publishers to make this happen, but it's great for consumers.

Also classic video games from the 1970s and 1980s have been put online by the Internet Archive and can be played within a web browser for nothing. The collection has launched with games from five early home consoles, including the Atari 2600 and Colecovision.

The games do not have sound, but will soon, the Internet Archive said.

I have not bought one computer game this Holiday season, not one. I did buy a few iOS games though, namely Lego LotR and Lego SW Complete Saga.

Kinda proud of myself there.

I have been good as well. It even has gotten to the point that I was hoping Anno 2070 wouldn't win the community vote as I was worried I might buy it if it did. It didn't win. :)

Matthean 12-31-2013 08:27 AM

I haven't bought anything. I think my issue is I need to find a game I can obsess over, or it won't get played.

Yeah, this. All the sales just have the effect of making me more selective, lest I end up with these massive libraries of unplayed games like some of you guys have.

vex 12-31-2013 09:13 AM

I bought a decent amount of games, but then FM14 went on sale and now I'll never play them.

Yeah, I snagged FM for $20 after the Green Man discount. Worth it.

Mota 12-31-2013 09:14 PM

I picked up two of the Indie Gala bundles for $5.00 total and got about 20 games. Of course, most games I'll never play but hey, just toss it onto the backlog.

mckerney 12-31-2013 10:50 PM

Amazon.com: XCOM: Enemy Within [Online Game Code]: Video Games

XCOM: Enemy Within is $9.99, if you bought any digital download games from Amazon during their Winter sale you should have a $5 voucher to bring it down to $4.99. If you have the voucher it will automatically be added when you add the game to your cart.

mckerney 12-31-2013 10:57 PM

Amazon.com: Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons [Online Game Code]: Video Games

Also from Amazon, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons for $5.99 and eligible for use of the promotional credit.

Qrusher14242 12-31-2013 11:15 PM

OOTP14 is $15 on Steam until tomorrow FYI

Very short, but it's worth it in every way. Absolutely incredible game.

Yep, one of my favorite games of the year. A must buy if you can get it for $.99 with the promotional credit, or even for $5.99. Only thing to note on it is that it does require a controller.

dubb93 01-01-2014 01:10 AM

I wish EU IV would go on sale again on Steam. I regret not snagging it when it was up. I have a decent size Steam Wallet balance burning a hole in my pocket after X-Mas.

Also, never played Alan Wake on PC, but it is a steal at $2.99 assuming it is even close to the 360 version(I'm assuming it's actually superior). That is one of the rare games that I still vividly remember years later.

I'm trying to decide on Company of Heroes 2, and hearing the same thing. Thoughts?

There's DLC for CoH2, but I don't know they're known for releasing 10-20 DLC packs. I don't know much about CoH2 (not my genre), so I can't say much more than that. It has a pretty constant player base on Steam for whatever that's worth.

Draft Dodger 01-01-2014 10:23 AM

As a big CoH fan, I'm holding off on COH2 - I think I'm waiting for the $5 range on this one. The reviews have been kind of so-so and I too have heard the DLC is kind of vital

Glad this one is going to be free on the PS3 this month. Been looking for a reason to play it.

RomaGoth 01-29-2014 12:51 PM

GOG is having a DRM-Free Time Machine Sale. Just bought Deus Ex GOTY Edition for $1.99, loved this game back in the day.

Looks to be some good deals on already low prices, and best of all it's DRM free.
