I don't want Georgia to play Vandy that eatly. Not that I'm afraid of Vandy (they could definitely win, but it isn't really that scary a team), but I want to root for Vandy to get further than the first round.

GrantDawg 10-29-2025 02:42 PM

Rumor is that UGA DC Glenn Schumman is one of the favorites for the Florida job, and all the Dawgs fans are asking "can he start next week?"

1. Ohio State
2. Texas A&M
3. Georgia Tech
4. BYU

5. Indiana
12. Navy

6. Alabama
11. Miami

7. Georgia
10. Vanderbilt

8. Oregon
9. Ole Miss

First few out: 5-2 Notre Dame, 7-1 Texas Tech, 6-2 Tennessee, 7-1 Virginia, 6-1 Louisville, 7-1 Cincinnati

By conference: SEC 5, B1G 3, ACC 2, B12 1, American 1

Feel free to check my work on this. Memphis is ranked higher than Navy (by one spot), but I put Navy in as the conference champion since they have the better conference record. FYI, Memphis and Navy play on 11/27, then the conference championship game is the week after in which they could play again, then the week after that is Army-Navy.

Are you remembering that the seeding rules have changed for this season?
Specifically, that the top 4 spots are purely ranking based, not "top 4 = top 4 conference champions"

RainMaker 10-29-2025 04:23 PM

If Virginia beats a 1-loss GT team (loss to Georgia) in the ACC title game, doesn't that mean the conference would get 3 teams? Would be tough to leave out a top 10 Miami with 1 loss. They would currently not play in the ACC title game if both GT and Virginia win out in conference which seems like a real possibility.

No, thank you.

I hate that - it makes it even less important to win a conference, and it makes doing this exercise less fun.

I don't want to see Boise State and Arizona State with a bye either, but that's not the way to go about it.

Took me a minute to figure out how the heck GT got to #3 and then it hit me, and I had to go Google to make sure I wasn't confused.

HerRealName 10-29-2025 08:44 PM

With LSU's mess, their best option will probably be dragging Orgeron back out.

albionmoonlight 10-30-2025 07:10 AM

It never occurs to these guys to work on not being a horrible person. It's always about working on new ways to hide being a horrible person.

I don't remember who it was I saw in the past few days -- Danny Kannel maybe? somebody along those lines at least IIRC -- point out the growing absurdity of ADs responsible for horrible decisions retaining their jobs while multiple 8 figure buyouts are being paid.

Has to be one of the most consequences-optional jobs in sports lately.

He WAS still employed. No longer.

dubb93 10-30-2025 08:23 PM

I’m blown away at the stuff I’m seeing about Indiana couldn’t withstand the gauntlet that Alabama has the last 5 weeks. I’m just sitting here thinking Oregon is probably better than GA, then three teams that haven’t beaten a ranked team including SC which has a losing record, and then Vanderbilt. I mean that isn’t much of a gauntlet.

Kodos 10-30-2025 09:51 PM

I think Cignetti must have run over Feinbaum’s dog or something. But everything he predicts ends up wrong. Keep predicting doom for us, Paul!

JPhillips 10-30-2025 10:13 PM

The SEC has a great racket where if there's an undefeated team they are the best because of the difficulty of the SEC and if no team is undefeated the conference is the best because of the difficulty of the SEC.

GrantDawg 10-31-2025 06:43 AM

ABC and Disney has gone dark on Youtube TV right before the Georgia-Florida game tomorrow. If it is not fixed by morning, I'm canceling the service.

bhlloy 10-31-2025 07:22 AM

Same. The second there’s something on ESPN families I don’t want to miss I’m switching. Tired of the endless brinksmanship and sad emails, not to mention endless price rises.

cuervo72 10-31-2025 07:46 AM

I mean, the endless price rises are because ABC/Disney (and Paramount, and Comcast, and Fox) keep asking more from YT and other providers, no? I'm leaning toward the mind of "fine, black them out, I'll find something else to watch."

I know this is 'old man yelling at clouds' territory, but it would be nice if sports media could show some sort of impartiality. Between ESPN shilling for the SEC and Joel Klatt and Fox shilling for the Big Ten and others, I just tune it all out and stick to some podcasts instead. I think half the appeal of podcasts at this point is just finding honest analysis rather than the slop they serve on TV.

GrantDawg 11-01-2025 11:41 AM

It looks like Cinderella is going to lose her slipper. Vandy is danger of getting walloped by Texas

HerRealName 11-01-2025 01:20 PM

Julian Sayin is 18/21 for 301/3TDs on basically 5 possessions.

I'd prefer 131-10 to their current 31-10 lead.

Passacaglia 11-01-2025 02:05 PM

So if I am recording a game on YTTV and it's not available now, will I be able to watch it once there's an agreement?

I wouldn't think so, it shouldn't be there (within YTTV) to BE recorded, best I can figure.

JonInMiddleGA 11-01-2025 02:39 PM

Texas tried their best to Texas the hell outta that

Oh it's 'xplicable alright.

It's Carson Fucking Beck, named for Bucky Dent apparently.

Everyone involved with paying that SOB should be fired. Preferably to the back side of the sun.

Miami leaves state of Florida = Instant loss

dubb93 11-01-2025 03:09 PM

Without Aiden Fisher and Elijah Sarratt, Indiana’s depth really going to be tested here.

I was actually wondering this about shows already recorded - Jeopardy specifically. The ones recorded on our ABC affiliate are now missing, though the GSN ones are still there. Do the old ones that’s were recorded come back, or are things reset? (It’s only like a week that I hadn’t watched so no big deal - and I may be able to watch on Hulu - but curious anyway.)

sovereignstar v2 11-01-2025 04:49 PM

I think the old ones will come back

Anyone else left on the Sabin coaching tree that hasn’t had a shot and is coaching winning football at a lower level? I’d start there.

Point taken. Was just a little worried how they would look without their best playmaker on both sides of the ball.

GrantDawg 11-01-2025 06:16 PM

Those gunshots you heard were the degenerate gamblers that took Georgia -7.5 taking themselves out when Gunner Stockton took the knee at the one instead of scoring.

Edit: or the over at 50.5.

Maryland still has to overcome Mike Locksley's coaching.

Ghost Econ 11-01-2025 06:59 PM

LaNorris Sellers makes Anthony Richardson look like a great passer. I've probably seen him miss 15 wide open passes on crossing routes by having no idea how to lead a receiver.

Be careful what you wish for because Richardson will come in and lead them by 15 yards.

The Governor of Louisiana wants Trump to help pick the next LSU coach.

That should work well.

I mean he kinda, sorta...

Quote:

“This is a pattern,” Landry said. The guy here now that wrote that contract cost A&M $77 million. Right now, we have a $53 million liability and we are not doing that again. And you know what? I believe we’re going to find a great coach. Maybe we’ll let President Trump pick it. He loves winners. …

Of course then he said this.

Quote:

No, I can tell you right now Scott Woodward is not selecting the next coach,” Landry said. “Hell, I’ll let Donald Trump select it before I let him do it.”

My guess is he went into trolling mode just because it was a day that ends in a "y" but it was more of a shot at Woodward than an actual desire for Trump to select the next head coach.

GrantDawg 11-01-2025 09:25 PM

Georgia Tech is now getting wrecked. It has been a bad week for the fun storylines.

miami_fan 11-01-2025 09:34 PM

BTW the more interesting part of Landry's comments IMO were the ones about AD's and coaches having the same agent and the NCAA failing to put "guardrails" on not only NIL deals but coaching contracts as well.

Give up 600 yards to a 4-4 team, you deserve every cry of fraud, imposter, etc that's coming your way.

JonInMiddleGA 11-01-2025 09:55 PM

And I forgot all about this game but ... 481 yards total offense COMBINED in four quarters and Kentucky beats Auburn 10-3 in Auburn.

I'm sure the boosters will still count it as a win for freeze. Last I heard the were like 6-2.

I just figured you would have a hard time defending anything Louisiana related even if you may agree with this particular person's POV.;)

JPhillips 11-02-2025 07:49 AM

We'll see, but this is how things work now. The Trump admin has a say in anything they want.

Back in March, ESPN reported on the chaotic process that led to Belichick’s hiring—one that began with Belichick telling U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, of all people, that he wanted the job. Rubio then informed North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis, according to ESPN, who passed word along to UNC officials.
