D'oh! I nearly forgot my duty. Sorry Hoops.

I'm useless at being a wolf. That's twice I've been teh suck.

claphamsa 04-23-2008 12:29 PM

I dont htink it was your fualt.... I cant imagine it was anything other than random.

EagleFan 04-23-2008 09:16 PM

That re-entry ino WW didn't last long... :)

EagleFan 04-23-2008 09:17 PM

dola: And I didn't even get a chance to get under anyone's skin... :(

I guess I didn't have to dola as edits are okay in this thread. :)

claphamsa 04-24-2008 06:19 AM

but dolaing is fun :)

Narcizo 04-24-2008 06:37 AM

And, more importantly, increases the post count.

claphamsa 04-24-2008 09:25 AM

Suuuuuure it does....

Barkeep49 04-24-2008 10:15 AM

I hope mccollins posts a particularly bitter post...

Neon_Chaos 04-24-2008 10:25 AM

I made a boo boo.

claphamsa 04-24-2008 10:26 AM

Im supprised it doeznt happne more!

mccollins 04-24-2008 10:26 AM

Haha - that stunk!!
At least I got in a parting shot before I realized I was re-dead.

KWhit 04-24-2008 10:40 AM

So when's the next game?

claphamsa 04-24-2008 10:47 AM

pass is next, but still laive....

Passacaglia 04-24-2008 11:27 AM

I'll post my rules after lunch.

Sonic Youth 04-25-2008 10:34 PM

I can only make this comment: it sucks being dead.

Passacaglia 04-28-2008 09:17 AM

My streak of being the first wolf on my team to get lynched continues. Unless a duking counts as a lynch, but I don't think it does.

claphamsa 04-28-2008 09:33 AM

poor pass :(

Sonic Youth 04-28-2008 09:48 AM

I thought Narcizo was a wolf?

Right. "Unless a duking counts as a lynch, but I don't think it does."

hoopsguy 05-06-2008 02:13 PM

Boo. I guess I would rather be "duked" - or whatever happened - on Day 1 than later.

*dances on your grave*

;)

Alan T 05-06-2008 02:28 PM

I am just happy to welcome you in to this thread. It had been missing company

path12 05-06-2008 03:01 PM

hoops, you could have spread that post out over seven or eight. How are we supposed to catch Maximum Football this way??

hoopsguy 05-06-2008 03:10 PM

As if I'm done lamenting this death already - don't worry, I'll do my part.

I just don't want to start dropping game-specific thoughts in here when I'm frustrated about a duking.

hoopsguy 05-06-2008 03:11 PM

Also, killjoy/moderator Barkeep is dead but has he bothered to join our posting pity party? Nope - clearly he is supporting Maximum Football over this epic thread.

st.cronin 05-06-2008 03:11 PM

I can't imagine how that exit must have stung.

I post when I need to vent about a death. I'm currently celebrating my early demise.

I've definitely been madder, but I wasn't the happiest of campers. Again, I'm a little leery of saying too much with the game still very much ongoing.

My 15 wolf brothers all clearly understand my pain  :p

Shoot.. I was sure there wasn't more than 10 wolves.

KWhit 05-07-2008 02:36 PM

*Rails against the injustice of it all!*

Chief Rum 05-07-2008 08:04 PM

My turn. First time posting here, actually, as an early death. I have posted here before commenting along with others, but I am rarely killed early.

Just goes to show ya--present analysis, and ye will be killed. ;)

I'll just shut my trap next time, and assume what I say will just go over their heads. :D

hoopsguy 05-07-2008 08:09 PM

Or you could argue correct "No Lynch" strategy and attract a super-weighted vote. That is another approach :)

Shutting your yap is, in my opinion, a deeply dissatisfying solution to the problem. Even if it is likely to extend your playing time in most cases.

Naw, No Lynch isn't any more fun than shutting my yap. :)

hoopsguy 05-07-2008 08:37 PM

My point was that "No Lynch" blows - but arguing it too loudly appears to be another path to getting lynched.

hoopsguy 05-07-2008 08:52 PM

I'll respect the "no edit" rule, even in this thread. The last post reads as more whiny than I meant it to be - it was meant as a light-hearted joke about paths to death in WW games.

But the point about playing cautious quiet games was serious - I don't think I would have nearly as much fun playing the games with that approach.

I agree with that. When I have a boring day at work (which happens often), I usually find myself unable to keep my mouth shut. Which is fine -- I feel like I'm just as happy reading people talk about my death instead of actually playing anyway. :) I figure anyone who's been a wolf with me lately knew that going in, and adjusts their playing style accordingly.

I'm not too involved in this game so maybe am missing something else, but my impression this would have been one of the games that I would have actually argued against a no lynch because of percentages. But I am assuming more will become known to me as the game progresses.

I agree though, if playing a game, there just is no way for me to stay quiet.. its just not fun.

Yeah, you're right. You really have to back it up to pull it off (or hoppe a more obvious candidate comes out).

Can you guys think of the top ways to increase your "wolfdar" profile in a games, besides "Hi, I'm Chief Rum, and I am a wolf."

A few off of the top of my head:

1. UTR (not just post #, also grouping of posts, involvement of discussion, impact of posting)
2. Driveby voting
3. Arguing/voting for the No Lynch

(BTW, these last two led to a funny moment in this game where jeheinz saw them in quick succession by st.cronin and Qwikshot and wondered if he had missed "Blatantly Act Like A Wolf" Day)

4. Breaking a clear head-to-head tie near the deadline and the lynch target being a villager
5. Deadline voting, really of any sort
6. The throwaway vote, especially the late one
7. The "computer problems, couldn't post" dilemma
8. Not voting for a wolf
9. Having the name Lathum or st.cronin :D
10. Steering a vote for what ends up being a villager
11. Having a high profile
12. Too noisy and present in thread
13. Caught in lie
14. Lost a dueling reveal

I'm sure there are tons more, and I am not how to even rank these.

Not your fault, man. You went above and beyond trying to save me. Dug that. I hope it ends up working out for our team. Thanks for the attempt and good luck.

I woudl argue that I often do #3, #4, #5, #6, #8, #10, #11, #12, #14 and have also been busted for #13 as a villager before!

Barkeep49 05-08-2008 07:12 AM

I don't think advocating for lynching is a path to death. I have done it several times and never been lynched for it.

I would guess someone who normally argues one way suddenly arguing differently would cause someone to be suspicious.. but I know that going into a game with No lynch that Cronin likely will argue pro no-lynch, you will likely argue con no-lynch the majority of the time and it is what I usually come to expect. I would assume deviation from that without reason would be suspicious but not for arguing the point.

claphamsa 05-08-2008 02:31 PM

meh, not like i knew whwat was going on anywasy.

path12 05-08-2008 02:36 PM

This whole "path to death" talk makes me nervous.

Hi guys! I'm on the AlanT schedule this game!

Lathum 05-08-2008 03:02 PM

post for Hoops

KWhit 05-12-2008 08:54 AM

So when's the next game?

claphamsa 05-12-2008 09:26 AM

no kidding!

st.cronin 05-12-2008 02:30 PM

I was not killed early, but I was killed, which makes me sad. I was enjoying that game, and I think I've only once been alive and a winner at the end of a game.
